Like I said before. TBK is a budget playground for mongers like me. I challenge you to go find another playground much cheaper or comparable than TBK (Batam). List down all the costs. Fm booking gils fees, hotels, food and tpt costs and we compare. But if are filthy rich, love splurging $$ everywhere and expect tiptop service, I suggest you go NY or Japan or any 1st world countries. TBK is not the place for you. You can compare and share your views. One mans meat is another mans poison. But you don't compare apple to an orange here.

Again you are comparing food joint to restaurant. You want aircond environment, then eat inhouse. As far as I am concerned the Seafood quality is up to my mark. No need hostess to serve me. Cheap.compared to Msia/Spore. For S$30. S$60 a nite from accomodation to RP300. RP600K on booking fees, you need not compare all the way to HK. Juz compare to Msia will do. You can't get tat kind of price in Msia! Fcuking HC already cost me M$198 (cheapest) an HOUR

Cy,
I took Penguin, stayed at the Max and drove to Rukko.
Perhaps I'm comparing Penguin to Turbocat (Hong Kong-Macau) and Max to Marriott. Roundtrip to Rukko is over 1 hour. Food joints there were more like a 'Dai Pai Dong' than like a restaurant.

but if you want a budget bonk (24hrs with you), cheap food, a place where you could rest/relax, not to fussy about quality/looks of gils, then tbk the place for you. for a 3d2n stay, i only spent s$250. can't tink of another playground tats fcuking cheap than balai. go for it now while rupiah still cheap at7600 = s$1. 00

i did this in july 2006 when i was on business in sing/kl and i had 2 days in between. i took a dilapidated high-speed ferry with all those elderly singaporeans ("uncles") to tg from sing.
i couldn't help thinking how much easier it was for elderly johns in hk to get their dick sucked in shenzhen.
the hotels are pretty shitty and cost some $35-$50 (thankfully sing dollars, not american), the streets are filthy and dark. no nice restaurants.
you have to drive to the "chicken-farms", quite a distance, can't rememebr how long it took and the chickens are, in my view fat (this is a creeping phenomenon in asia these days) and ugly. plus they have this war-paint on. and the prices, 300k-600k.
the trip to kl was another freaking nightmare. you have to take a ferry to pontian or something, then take a bus to jb, which runs late and doesn't stick to schedule - you end up waiting a long time and then 3 buses arrive all at once - some 3rd world shit like that.
once you get to jb it's a bit better, plenty of buses, expressway to kl is very good, landscaped and so on. but it takes a long time, very heavy traffic and plenty of suburbs to get through as you approach the outskirts of kl.
i left my hotel is tb at about 9am and checked into the renaissance in kl at around 5pm.
so, a giant fucking lie, this is!
you are better off paying 200-250rm for pussy to come to you in kl.

Then he put the sticker on my endorsement page. Now I get hassled at Passport control from time to time. They want to know why my endorsement page has an entry visa on it.
When I was there last time i stayed at a small hotel at 170,000 per night. It was decently priced but was very small. If I use Kofa just for Hotel help will he get a kick back from the hotel or should I also pay him?
If some could also give me the low down on western food that would be nice. I am not the biggest fan of chinese style seafood restaurants. I was only there for one night on my last trip and did not eat, I got there late at night and left on the first ferry to Batam. So I had no time to look around.

I see that this thread has not gotten any reports for awhile. I want to head over there in early may. I am wondering if all is good? Is there any problems with crackdowns, like what happened awhile back? Are the prices still the same? I went Tanjung Balai Karimun once about 3+ years ago and am looking forward to the return trip.
I stay in KL and do not own a car so I will be doing my initial traveling by bus. I know the ferry leaves from Kukup (or something like that) but there is no bus service (that I am aware of) that goes there. I also know that the ferry leaves from Singapore as well. But my question, is there a ferry from JB?
OK some more help,
1st - What hotels are there that are priced from RM50-RM80 per night?
2nd - What is the current price for a ferry ride (one way) from Singapore and or JB (if there is one)?
3rd - Does anyone know if an American can get an entry visa here at the Indonesia embassy instead at the time of entry? I really do not want to fool with the Immigration officers on arrival, if they hit up Singaporeans and Malaysians this hard what would they do to this poor American?
I wont be on a budget per se but I also do not want to travel with too much cash. So I just want to take just enough.
Thanks
Slylock
(BTW I have RTFF all the way back, some of my questions are answered and some are not. I just want up to date info. TQ)

Gone are the days when the gils (at Batu/TBK) would undress and bath u like a king without we asking. Those days they really treat us like her suami, husband!

One thing I learnt is we must respect the gils. Be nice and chat with them. Don't treat them like sex object. Believe me, if theres chemistry, respect her and she like u, you may even get extra bonus (AJ, though I don't fancy) fm her.

Posts: 214Fm Tanjong Batu Kundur to Tg Balai Karimun
Looking at my watch, it took us only 20mins to reached Tg Balai domestic jetty fm Tg Batu, prayun. This particular jetty is quite a distance away fm the regional jetty.coming out fm the jetty, walking thru a coffee shop that lead us to the main road, and tere we are infront of the Mosque. Slow walk as its only 5mins to Rasa Sayang Hotel. Checked into std room at RP205K after some bargaining. Without wasting much time, asked driver to bring us to Villa and Rukko. We took 1 fm Villa at RP430K, two from Rukko at RP280K each. Great prices from the latter. Services was good. No complaints fm us.
Went to dinner but my favourite seafood rest was closed. So no choice we went to Long Beach restaurant and prepare to get our throat cut. Cewek choice. So we obliged. Bill came to RP380K for 6 pax! No beer, no crabs! Btw, teres a new restaurant beside Long Beach. Next time will check this one out.
After dinner went to karaoke at Rasa Sayang hotel till almost midnite. After a few drinks, called it a nite and went to individual rooms where we start our bonking sexxion. Mine was fm Bandung. Services was good. But nothing to shout about.
Next morning, tipped her RP100K. Went for our breakfast. Then went back to our room and dozzze off. After lunch decided to pay Villa/Rukko another visit. This time round we skipped Villa and went to Top10 at Rukko. Three of us took fm the same joint. Mammy recognized us and gave us special discount. RP250K each. Where can get this type of prices especially for my friends who are not regular to T10. At this juncture, I realized one of my favourite joint CK closed for good. Business very bad nowadays at Balai according to Mami.
Gils came around 4pm. Went for dinner at our favourite rest 688. Bill came to about RP290K including crabs. Reasonable.
After dinner went back to hotel. SOP. Service quite good. Mine from Pekan Baru. Again, no complaints fm my two friends regarding their ceweks. In fact we were contemplating having 6some and orgy! But one of them shy. But she told us next time maybe its possible! But must be fm same joint. .
Next morning, tipped her RP100K, booked 1st ferry and reached Spore 10. 30am. Almost two hrs to reach Spore. Anyway, none of us in a hurry to rush out of the ferry unlike when the ferry reaching Balai jetty. Could see fm the faces of some Singaporean on board the ferry. Faces all sucks. Sombre look! Juz like us too.
Hope the latest update (especially on Tg Batu) would benefit newbies. .
Cheers!
