I believe the reason for this is that the girls are required to buy at least one drink, and they receive a chit for it when purchased. They are not allowed to leave the bar with a customer unless they can provide the chit to the door security. They can depart without the chit if they are not with a customer. Hence, some girls who have not purchased a drink (don't have the money) will only leave the bar separately from you and meet up the street. Some girls tell customers that the customer must buy the girl a drink in order to leave with her. That's not true, she is just trying to get you to pay for the (overpriced) lady drink so she can get the chit and walk out the door with you. When girls tell me they want to go with me for the agreed amount, but I must first buy her a drink, I tell the girl to skip that and meet me across the street after I depart, and that is what happens. Other gets have experience with this last item? Sometimes even the waitresses try and get me to buy this or that girl a drink. Many girls order a bottle of water, which has a cap, and can be nursed for as much as 24 hours.

Never mind on Guijo Suites, but same questions for decent priced hotel Eurotel Pedro Gil. Seems okay on paper, but Google maps says 5 minute walk from LA Cafe. Not sure if that means good (convenient) or bad (neighborhood)?

I'm not a fan of the bay area as I haven't heard good things regarding the quality out there in say LA Cafe etc. Think I'm going to stay at the Fairmont on this visit but I agree with you that the Shangri-La pool looks pretty good and I'll try that out at some point. Think I've decided on going to Manila as it suits my needs a little better at the moment.

Ok here is my list of 5 star MNL Hotels with real nice pools in the sun:
1. Makati.
Peninsula - Great pool! Good location.
Shangri-La Makati - I have not stayed here, but pool looks real good. Now that the Grand Hyatt is out I will give this hotel some consideration. Great Location!
Fairmont - I really like this hotel although it was better before Accor took over. Pool is very nice and in sun 10 to 4.
2. Manila Bay.
Sofitel - (on the bay) - great pool and in sun all day.
Hyatt City of Dreams - I like the casino all night restaurants. Pool is in shade in the morning and is crowded with Filipino families ugh, but it gets hot and sunny after 12 pm and deserted. HA HA.
Conrad - I have never been there, but the pool looks real good.
I like to split my MNL visits in 2 parts Makati and Bay.

I use Grab if I am somewhere that there is wither a long taxi line or a place where cabs are not dropping off passengers. When I stayed at Jazz Residences, I would just go to the lobby and take a cab that was dropping someone off, usually faster than waiting for a Grab.
In Travoli Gardens, I would book a grab because there was not as many cabs dropping people off and always a wait as others were trying the same tactic.

Have an open itinerary and thinking about going back to Manila for a few days. Currently BKK is in the lead because it has better weather, but MNL girls speak better English and I do have a soft spot for Kojax as its everything I want in a gogo bar. I'm looking for a 5 star hotel, that has a decent pool that gets a good amount of sunlight during the day as I want to relax / work during the day and then have fun in the evening. Obviously somewhere in Makati / BGC as I'll be in and around Burgos and the grab out to the bay area would take too damn long. Off topic for this thread, but since I have an extended period available would I be able to get a hotel like this in Angeles and opinions whether its worth venturing out there in terms of girl quality?
I've previously stayed at:
City Garden Grand. Close to Burgos, nice enough but is a good 4 star rather than a true 5 star place. Good room service at a great price. Nothing wrong with this place, I just prefer something a little better. The rooftop pool does get good sunlight, but its small and is busy as people are allowed in to go to the bar / restaurant at the top of the hotel without being guests.
Makati Diamond. Have a great system where if you don't eat the breakfast they preload a card with 400 PHP that you can use at nearby restaurants, and given that Greenbelt is over the road this means I never had to get up early and had loads of food options available for breakfast / lunch. Upgraded to the bigger suites and it was a really nice and spacious room. Room service was good and reasonable prices. I never used the pool when I was there but unfortunately I believe it is an indoor pool, so no sunlight.
Grand Hyatt. Nice enough room. Pool was great. Spacious, well laid out etc. Unfortunately, in typical ass backwards Filipino style, it doesn't get any direct sunlight during the day either because of the hotel tower or another tower nearby.
None have ever stopped me bringing a girl back late in the evening or made me check them in at reception.

Some Grab code: "Give it a moment to connect" = Go make a sandwich and check back later. "Nothing new here" and "Something went wrong, tap to refresh" = Go make a sandwich and try back later.
Notice in the pic that says Ayala, 4 g signal and either Grab or the network speed was so slow that it could not locate the Ayala mall that I was standing in with my GPS turned on.
In the pic with the map (4 g+ and full bars). Grab / network took almost a minute to find my original location (major mall in the big city), another minute to find my destination, another 30 seconds do draw the green route on the map, and then it timed out trying to find what rides were available in my area (taxi, grab car, etc). However, when I originally pulled up the app a few minutes prior, and before entering locations, the map showed a dozen taxis in the area surrounding the mall.
For the positives of Grab, I still use it. But only when its fast. White taxi's are the go-to choice when Grab isn't being the bomb. Have not had much in the way of any problems for a while with taxis until a few nights ago. My girl and I came out of a bar at the end of our outting one night, 12:30 am, light traffic. At the street a white taxi pulled over right away and the driver rolled down a window as I was still waiting for Grab to connect. "Where you go sir?" BTW, never answer this question while standing outside the taxi. I opened the rear door and ushered the girl inside before me and I hopped in. XYX Residence, guy (4-6 minutes, depending traffic lights). "Its 500". Meter, guy. "No meter. Its 500". The girl, in her naivete, said to me: "You give 500". Wish she hadn't done that. Meter+20, guy, I politely insist. "Five hundred". Pulled out my phone and took his picture, as I said again: Meter, and he turned to say to me 500 again. "F*ck!" I grabbed the girl's wrist and shhhhed her before she said anything. We can sit in your taxi all night guy. Or you can drive to a police station and explain it to them that you refused a metered fare. He switched on the meter and he dropped us at the XYZ for meter + 20. Interestingly on the drive to the condo he was a nice and chatty guy. Never chat a driver thru an open window when discussing location or fare. Don't get out of a taxi just because the driver doesn't want to take you somewhere on the meter (or agreed price that he wants to increase), just grab your phone and read ISG or such. Eventually he's going to want to get a fare and he's going to take you where you want to go for a more reasonable price. These white taxi incidences are rare (non-existent in Grab).

Posts: 40Not even locals in their right mind would choose to ride a taxi when there are alternatives. I guess that all of you use a smartphone. Please download Grab from the app store. It won't cost you a peso. Book a ride from the app. You're going to pay exactly what is displayed on your phone screen. Nothing more. Furthermore, the driver's name, license plate, and car model are displayed as well so if you ever have any complaint it is easy. You can also rate the driver as well.
Take it from a Filipino. I hope I wouldn't have to read another complaint about taxi drivers ripping you off in this forum. It's already 2020 and we should be way past that already.

Tried out this bar twice.
Once was around 4 pm in the afternoon until 7 pm.
Place was packed by hookers. Usual rate is 3 k but you have to pay 300. So the hooker can buy food after.
Face value was like 6-7/10.
The seocnd time I went around noon.
Not much hooker.
So sad.
