Pan Pacific at USD $85 was my favorite, but check the room before letting the "Butler" go; if it's not acceptable, get another. At $100+, I'd pass.
Cherry Blossoms on J. Bocobo is my standby, close to Robinson's Mall, clean, quiet and cheap at P1,350.
Paco Park Oasis is OK if you get a deluxe room or higher, food and mango shakes are good, just a hassle (traffic) going the 1/2 mile or so to Robinson's.
Atrium - stayed here 1 night in 2000, it was OK, probably would pass in the future.

For example, on my last trip to MNL, I found a nice, sweet 23 yo at a local Ortigas bar drinking with friends. We didn't hook up that night, but I got her mobile number, and a local friend and I met her and her friend at MegaWalk two nights later. Some pool, some Tequila, and later we're all safely ensconced in my EDSA Shangri-La suite (he got the couch, I got the bedroom :) ). What could be better?
As luck would have it, the following night, a previous lady acquaintance SMS'd, and I had her take a taxi to the hotel. We had a great night, and I left for NAIA with a big smile in the morning.
BTW, I live in Bangkok, but am really liking the Phils lately!
Cheers,
