However, the OP does what most posters do when they ask about hotels: he doesn't suggest whether he wants 2, 3, 4 or 5-star quality. What is decent for some is not for others? Convenient to everything? FWIW, I rate SOGO hotels as somewhere around 1 to 2-star quality (depending on the age). Some (like the Guadalupe one), stink of mold and mildew.
Advice to guys seeking advice about hotels. List everything that you require in a hotel and we can help. The more info you provide then the easier it is to assist you.

Guys.
Planning to visit Manila end of month for a few days, assuming Manila is the 'right' city and not Angels (What areas and hotel (s) can be recommended. General girl friendly, decent and convenient. Mongering, bars; airport commute, etc.
Thanks much,
Sam.

Posts: 1191One thing I enjoyed about the Hotel Jen is the downstairs cafe at the front of the hotel. It was a convenient place to meet the invited girls for an interview before whisking them upstairs.

You have 4 FRs 2 in 2016 asking about hotels and in August you asked about the Fairmont and Peninsula. Which was better and got replies saying RTFF as the answer to the question on GF etc is there. So easy really. Asking if hotels in Manila are GF is like asking if car needs an engine.
And where is the trip report from AC as you were going there also?

I'm going to Manila in two weeks, when I check in by myself how easy is it to bring someone up to my room from say the bar or lounge area downstairs?

Del Pilar Street, Malate. P2200/ night from Booking.com for advanced, less-expensive, no-back reservation.
Pro's: Clean lobby and room. Relatively new place (1 year maybe). Nice folk at the front desk. 7-11 next door. Basic no-frills place. Bed was firm. 6 blocks walking distance to Robinson's (Pedro Gil / Adriatico).
Con's: Tiny room. Shower hot-water heater broken. Circuit-breaker continually snapped off. I checked in near midnight and needed a shower after long day of flying. No such luck, the shower water was not lukewarm without the heater, it was downright frigid. Went to front desk to request repair. An hour later the engineer showed up and snapped the circuit breaker on and it seemed fine. He left and then it snapped off and would not stay on. He came back and he couldn't get the circuit breaker to stay on. "I fix tomorrow sir". I asked for a different room with a shower that worked. "Sorry sir, fully booked tonight. Ask tomorrow in checkout time, noon maybe". Also the shower-head on the wall was loose, and no matter where I pointed it (at my chest usually), if fell and sprayed at my feet, or the wall to my left (randomly moving from water pressure). "Also tomorrow sir we will fix that". So, no shower that night or the next morning. When I asked to move rooms again at 11 am, they were fully booked the next 2 days. The good news: The engineer replaced the hot-water heater and fixed the wandering shower head around 4 pm (it took him all of 5 minutes to complete the entire thing); a long time to not have a shower. There was no soap at the CR sink. I asked at the front desk for a bar of soap: "We don't' have sir. I will send engineer to show you how". Huh? The engineer came up and showed me how to get soap at the bathroom sink: he stepped into the shower and got a handful of the liquid shower soap / shampoo from the dispenser, stepped back out to the sink, and washed his hands. "Like that sir". Oh! Silly me! "Also sir you can buy bar soap in 7-11". Gotcha! Internet came / went, and was never fast enough to stream (OK for browsing when it was up / running). Good / bad location, nearest cross-street is Remedios street. Very gritty, but just around the corner on Remedios is Padi's Point and Cowboy Grill, 2 good live band joints.
Too many better Hi-rise condo's in the area for less $. My condo unit was not available for several more days and I thought any hotel in the area would do. Can't imagine coming back to Hop. For about the same price, try Eurotel, room slightly bigger, everything is standardized and tried / true, there is a free breakfast, and its across the street from Robinson's (my mistake for forgetting about this place).
