Hahaha, well now you know! Most chicas in Banana's were Venezuelan (3 of the 4 I was with there too), the SW I really liked was, and also a busty ebony one I met in Parque Bolivar who was nothing special and kept asking for more cash. But I wouldn't say there were a flood of them, not at all. There was one chica in particular that I regret not having. I'm not sure what nationality the other SW's were there as I only spoke to a few I was interested in. There was another street vendor one who I fancied, but couldn't even get eye contact from her so didn't bother trying. I would also like to know which Colombian cities have the largest amounts on Venezualan young women, those closest to the border? Or the big cities in generall like Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena as that's where the most opportunities are?

That trip definitely did a lot for my confidence in chatting up women in general. In my hotel, you needed your key card to select the floor in the hotel. A really sexy looking woman got in the elevator, but the receptionist had to select the floor for her. I jumped in the elevator too as I assumed she was a hooker (LOL!) and on the way up asked her if she was visiting a friend. She laughed and said no, and got out on the 5th floor. But anyway, I liked Santa Marta, but really - don't go there, it's not for everyone! It's too hot, out of the way, boring and it sucks!

I am happy that things went smoothly. From your posts, excluding Cartajena, you had a good time in SM and Bogota.
You did your homework and that paid off. I am sure you learned a few things too for your next visit.

You went "silent" after posting on March 10th from SM. Now we know why!
-Is there a flood of Venezolanas OR just a handful in SM?
-Is Bananas the only attraction or are there other clubs too?

It sucks so bad that I went there for 5 nights and ended up staying for 12 ! Bananas is so bad that I went 8 times and had 4 sessions there!

Did you believe any of that? I actually can't lie as I really liked the place. There's enough to do for a week there. I also had a great BJ in the massage place on Carrera 3 in the middle of town (which another punter mentioned earlier), and a great session with a very curvy young Venezuelan SW walking along the seafront road. Not sure exactly but I remember looking in there around 8 and there appeared to be no customers and loads of girls sorting out their hair and make up etc. Went back around 10.30 and it was pretty busy.

Hey dudes, I arrived in Santa Marta this afternoon after a very short and easy flight from Bogota. I managed not to get chopped up by a taxi driver though he did charge me 30 k to the centre of town. Haven't seen any chianti anywhere, though I've heard this is for lightweights anyway.

First impressions, nice seaside town, people remind me more of Dominicans in their looks and behaviour than they do of the locals in Bogota anyway. Not too many tourists around, and haven't been hassled by any hawkers etc as others have stated, around Parque de Novios or along the beachfront. Haven't noticed any obvious talent yet, but it's only 5 pm and I've only been here an hour!

To be honest, I have not been mongering while in Santa Marta. I found a Euro girl and we hit it off and so been hanging with her and also just working remotely / relaxing.

Well, I went back to Bananas last night because tourists packed into Pirata and started acting like they own the place. Pirata is also so small it can get cramped. There is a hot DJ I am trying to talk to but some Euro or Aussie was chatting her up all night. Anyways, I had a few drinks so I was like let me check out Bananas.

When you go to Bananas you can sit at one of the tables or you can just order drinks at the bar. Standing at the bar is my preferred method if you are by yourself so you can freely walk around. I know the waiter and give him tips so he treats me good. Beers are 6 k. When I went the first time, I was with a friend and we sat at a table. When I asked for a trago (shot) of rum con hielo (with ice), I was told that they can only do a 1/2 bottle or full bottle and shots are not available. This is not true. You can buy a shot of rum with ice from the bar. If you sit down, you can literally just buy 1 beer and all is fine, so I am sure you can buy a shot of rum. I think it's a tactic to make you purchase a bottle. Lap dances are available here too but I don't know how much it costs. I do not believe they upcharge you to buy a drink for a lady.

Anyways, the waiter friend is from Venezuela. He told me that pretty much every girl in Bananas right now is from Venezuela. Colombians from smaller cities make up about 10% of the girls that work there. I did not realize how many Venezuelans there are there. I could tell a few were, but the rest looked like normal Colombian chicks.

Unfortunately, I saw nothing that interested me there. There was one girl that got me semi-interested but she put herself at the corner of the bar, and made it a bit hard to talk to her. I, of course, could have easily motioned to her but just wasn't that motivated. About 3 girls came to talk to me but I just told them I am chilling. No one is pushy there which I like. It is a more relaxed vibe. I will say it was mostly 5-7's. They all live like next door in a hostel. You can easily get Whatsapp numbers in here. There was some Colombian guy doing a Instagram live in there LOL. The bouncers told him to stop but didn't even kick him out. I will check it out again tonight & also check out VIP late at night. I been twice before that, and saw a few 8's so I know it's possible.

I feel you. My first trip to Bogota I was asking the very same question. From what I know Bogota and Armenia are probably the most two dangerous cities to take a cab in. That said my strategy is to look for a guy in his late 50's or 60's and you should be fine. Unfortunately this and most internet boards when it comes to questions about security will give you sarcastic answers from both extremes and the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

If memory serves me right, there is an official taxi stand within the airport where you tell them the destination and they then take you outside to your cab. I might be confusing it with somewhere else as I haven't been for the past 4 years. When are you going, Coupe? I'll be there in roughly two weeks time for a few days.

Still, nobody really answered answered that. Taxis can be dishonest all over the world, why should Santa Marta be any different?
