Posts: 582I won't go with the parque chicas unless I see their IDs a lot of them look young but they are 21 or so.
They a lot of fun but watch your pockets because their fingers like to move around when they're giving you head. One cute Venezuela chick managed to get a few pesos out of my back pocket and then let me bang her bareback and since she wanted a baby. Fun stuff.

What a complete waste of time. Bad food. Stinky crowd at beach. Venadores are pests. A hugh 'so what?' And you will not see good looking girls on beach, as in eye candy. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

Passed through Santa Marta before Cartagena for 1 night.
Looked at photoprepagos, not many ads that had been active in the last week. Only one I liked who was the one I went to see from mileroticos below.
Mileroticos had more active ads, WhatsApped a handfull I liked, prices from 100-160 k for the hour, mainly 100 k. Most don't do BBBJ. I always asked for pictures to confirm they are the one in the photo, some will some won't, and they usually look worse when you get a photo.
Nearly every other ad on there is a girl called Larissa, didn't send face pictures but I chanced it anyway as she looked good. As expected not the one in the picture or at least doesn't look like that now, small belly and facially poor so I walked. I think she was asking for some money before I left but just walked out, she was operating out of a budget hotel in Rodadero with another girl I could hear, receptionist was laughing when I came back down obviously knows what's going on.
On the corner of parque de LOS Novios where the restaurants are is like 5 or so girls stood about, dressed modestly but very obvious, all looking very young, this is circa 8 pm. Had food right next to there, some seem to go for a walk and return so must be a circuit they do, also sometimes walk in and out of Uleleke a club there on the corner. Once I'd finished dinner after 9 pm a couple more have arrived, it's hard at times to tell in Colombia but most look underage to me. I did pass back through here circa 11 pm and it was a different group of girls that looked older and rougher now.
Bananas disco show circa 10 pm, 6 k beer, maybe 20 girls, quite a few locals. Only two of the worst ones introduce themselves, a few do look doable, usual chica club stuff most sat about bored on their phones.

Posts: 21My thoughts after 3 days. This place makes for a nice change. It's kind of a cool town. As for mongering it's slim pickings. There are 6 or 8 ladies over by the park / where that Bob Marley bar is. Another dozen near the other park near the water and a few more girls scattered around. Walking the loop 3/4 times a night (both parks, down third and along the beach). I have seen no more than 30 ladies in one night.
As for the ladies, their 90 percent Venezuelan. I find the Venezuelans more difficult to deal with in general. Their just way more hard than the Colombians IMO.
I had a drink in Banana bar tonight also. Counted 6 of the 7 ladies around me on their phones like I wasn't even there. The 7th was a cute Colombian that actually talked to me. She said 1/2 HR, 120 k + pay for room (not sure room price).
So far took 2 SGs. Plump Colombian tonight, good service, showered together etc. And a Venezuelan that was fucking terrible.
I don't regret coming here, I'm enjoying myself but I feel like I'm settling for ladies due to lack of other options.
I'm liking the food but my friends that spend a lot of time here pointed out all their favorite places to me. Beach is nothing special but very nice to hang out at for sunset and in the evening.
The wind, it's crazy windy here. Was at breakfast 2 days ago and my scrambled eggs blew right off the plate onto the ground!

I recall using the upstairs rooms at Bananas several years ago and not digging it at all. Same deal, yelling about time being up, shoddy rooms, and an overall bleak experience. I did meet a hottie there from MDE who I invited over to my hotel next day rather than soil my experience with this beauty. My place was conveniently located across the street at a boutique type hotel called San Isabella.
They actually had a sign saying guests not allowed but the girl I met was very pretty, young, and had a classy look to her so she breezed through without comment from the staff. However, most of the talent in Bananas left a lot to be desired. Desultory comes to mind. It's a bit disappointing to read that the general city atmosphere has become shaky too. The town, as it is, always seems to be on the precipice of falling into total dysfunction. Thanks for the update.

Posts: 484This place has gone downhill sadly !
Hey guys, I've been in Santa Marta for a week so thought I would let you know my impressions of the place since my last visit in March this year. I can't believe how much less I like it here this time! Looking back, it seemed to be the purple patch to come here back in March, it was getting popular but still peaceful, with a scattering of Venezuelans around. Now, poor Venezuelans seem to be overrunning the place, and it gets very tiresome telling them to stop bothering you, the locals seem less friendly than last time, and I don't feel comfortable walking along the Malecon after say 9 PM, and it's certainly not safe to walk alongside or in Parque Bolivar late either.
There is an uneasy atmosphere in the city at the moment, which a taxi driver agreed with me about tonight, and an odd mix of people. Locals just trying to go about their business, hippy tourists, better off tourists and Venezuelan refugees either trying to sell you stuff, begging or sitting around in the parks. The police tend to show up in bursts all over the place, but there are many times and places that you won't see any. When the security guards in restaurant terraces or secure areas go off for a break, the begging Venezualans will come and start hassling you.
Bananas club was great the last time I was here, there was a good mix of all types of chicas, and they were available to advances but weren't pushy. Whereas now the choice of chicas is pretty poor, and they are behaving like chicas in most clubs / chica bars (ie looking bored and staring at their mobiles, as if they just have to be there). I took one chica upstairs a few days back, she was my type and had a good attitude, but the hectic atmosphere and noise coming from outside the room from the lady cleaning the rooms / banging on doors to tell others their time was up was just ridiculous and totally ruined the experience! Likewise, I don't remember it was like that in March either.
The only bright side to me has been the internet scene. I've seen a couple of chicas here that I found on mileroticos, a very curvy Venezuelan just off Carrera 5 shopping street who gave me a great time who I met twice, and another slimmer and very cute Venezuelan in Rodadero who also gave me great service. I don't see the point of posting their links here and saying they were 8/10 or whatever as many do, as we all have different tastes, but PM me for details if you're interested.
Actually, I'm glad I visited the chica in Rodadero as had never been there before. From the feedback from some of you guys on here I had the impression that it was a dead little backwater, but this is really not the case at all. It's a very lively little seaside resort, and the atmosphere there is much friendlier and more positive than Santa Marta centre at the moment, and feels safer too. Although there are loads of street vendors there, none bothered me or hassled me the way they do in Santa Marta. I reckon this is mainly because Rodadero is more for Colombian tourists who don't put up with being hassled or aren't susceptible to such advances, whereas Santa Marta is where the naieve foreign tourists hang out. I didn't notice any street walkers there if that's what you're into, but there are many chicas there available on mileroticos, so it might be a better place to stay in the area than Santa Marta for the moment. A lot less Venezuelan refugees there too.
Anyway, maybe I was looking through rose tinted glasses at Santa Marta the first time I was here in March as I only had Bogota to compare it to, whereas this time I have a lot more to compare it to as have been in Medellin for 16 days then Barranquilla for a week before coming here, and maybe the locals weren't any more friendly back then but I just wasn't paying any attention as I was just excited to be here. But even so, this place has still definitely gone downhill. It's busier, but not in a good way or with the right people. It also seems dirtier and more run down. I really can't believe how much worse it has got in just 6 months!
And if you think I'm exaggerating about the security issues, on my first night here a week ago I walked up Carrera 3 (pedestrianized street that runs from Parque de los Novios to Calle 5), then turned left to walk to the seafront alongside Parque Bolivar. It was pretty dark and empty looking, but as it was only 830 PM I wasn't really worried. A skinny little street walker then came up to me from behind, pawing me and trying to get my attention. I told her I wasn't interested and to get off me. Anyway, before I knew what was happening she had her hand in my back pocket (which luckily was empty), and I think I swiped her away. It was all over in a few seconds and she walked off. Anyway, maybe it was a good thing as it gave me a warning to be careful walking in Santa Marta at night, and let me know that the Santa Marta I was walking in was not the same place that it was 6 months ago. I shouldn't have assumed that it was ! It has changed, and not for the better.
I didn't see any streetwalkers who were too impressive either in Santa Marta at the moment, and to be honest with what I've said about the atmosphere here at the moment, and the fact they're usually hanging around other young Venezuelan guys with nothing better to do, that they would have to be pretty stunning for me to risk others sticking their nose in my business / our conversation.
Anyway, sorry for the pretty negative report guys, but I have to be honest. Not sure I will be coming back in a hurry, too many other places to see on my next trip to Colombia ! I really wouldn't recommend coming here for the moment anyway. Was planning to stay here until leaving Colombia in a week, but instead will go back to Medellin for my last few days. The weather may be worse there, but there's lots more to do, there are loads more chicas available and I feel more comfortable there than here for sure at the moment !
