Depends on your budget, directly across the street from Banana's there are some hotels with AC that are bare bones about 40 K a day as I recall and no problem bringing in Chica's. I actually rented two rooms while I was in Santa Marta, one at the Sheraton with all the nice amenities, however I never took any girls back there, just to the other place. Everything is a close in old town to the monger venues that include Parque Novios, the Malecon, the main highway along the Malecon, and Parque Bolivar.

I was there, actually through SM about 2 months back but not to play as I have everything I need in my hometown of Medellin.

The place is bleak and desperate so I have almost zero interest in finding costena pussy in SM. Good luck.

That sounds bad but thanks. I was thinking about relaxing and maybe hooking up but not serious mongering. I like the look of old town Centro but if it's bleak etc. There's probably a better time in the future to visit. Thanks again.

Can anyone provide a status of what things are like on the ground in Santa Marta? Are the restaurants, strip clubs, etc. Open? Are there working girls about? I haven't been in a little over a year, but am thinking of going in early February. I'd just like a change of scenery from Medellin and would like to do some hiking.

Nice to hear no issues and great to hear things are opening up. I was there a long long time. Ago, ear. Why 70's. Loved it. Had my first Colombians there. I was so innocent. I believe she worked in a casa but would make me take her to eat after we partied rather than charge me because she could tell I was clueless to buying poosy. That was then this is now. Some typos and I can't edit even after reading help. Meant to write was there early 70's. The girl must have felt sorry for me or maybe even liked me but we would always go eat afterward. Fair trade. She was not pretty but really knew how to have fun in the sack. Not many tourists then so she was for the locals most likely. Always insisted on carrying the weed since in those days women were never searched. She would wrap it up in a newspaper and put it in her purse. Great days.

There were hardly any foreigners about during the lockdown, so there were loads of places going very cheap. TBH, I have never worried too much about security. I stayed alone in a 4 bedroom house for the duration. Got to know the neighbours a bit. No issues at all.

I hear all the clubs and bars can pen again tomorrow. The mayor has been very reluctant to follow the rest of the country and has delayed opening them more so than in other cities.

But apparently he has relented and they are all open again tmrw. Party!

How was the AIRbb? I have one in mind in Centro too and owner lives in the building and is cool but no portero he says it's safe. How did you feel? I have gotten used to having at least a receptionist on premises.

All the restaurants are open now, and they are selling alcohol again already. I am not sure about travel from CTG. I never take local transport. I just take flights.

What part of Santa Marta did you stay in? Were you able to swim in the ocean during quarantine? Where did you meet your chicas? Did you have repeats, or cycle new girls?

I had the numbers of a few local girls from before the lockdown, so I invited them around. They were desperate for money bcos they couldn't work as per normal. Plus I know one of the club owners. He owns 2 clubs. He also offers his girls for take out thru whatsapp. . And then there were always a few girls hanging out at the parks during the day. So I kept busy that way.

I was staying in Airbnbs in the centre, very close to Pqe de LOS Novios.

No, the beaches were closed and access to the sea in the centre was boarded up. It still is. They are relaying the pavements now. If you wanted to swim, you needed to get a taxi out of town to one of the queiter beaches where there was no police.

Spent the whole of lock down in Santa Marta.

For sure, it was boring in that there were no bars or clubs or restaurants open. Indeed, no shops either. But always plenty of girls, and super cheap!

Can't wait for things to get in to full swing again in the next few weeks!

I assume you took the bus to and from Santa Marta and not private car. Is that correct? Any problems moving between cities? Want to go there in 2 weeks from Barranquilla.
