When do you think things will be normalized as far as travel between there and CTG and restaurants open.

Spent the whole of lock down in Santa Marta.

For sure, it was boring in that there were no bars or clubs or restaurants open. Indeed, no shops either. But always plenty of girls, and super cheap!

Can't wait for things to get in to full swing again in the next few weeks!

I assume you took the bus to and from Santa Marta and not private car. Is that correct? Any problems moving between cities? Want to go there in 2 weeks from Barranquilla.

Sorry there are no domestic flights in Colombia during the quarantine or bus service. You could get a private driver but would need special permission due to the quarantine for travel.

Even before COVID (in October) Santa Marta around the old city was getting a little too edgy. Probably less so around the tourist beach Rodadero.

Do you guys know of any day time casas in SM? I was told they exist by one of those "get it for you" guys on the beach who wanted to take me there. Was my last day of trip and couldn't go and not even sure he understood exactly what I was looking for. Do any of you know where the casas are?

Well I based it on what the guys who've been there recently had posted in response. In the meantime, I've watched a few YouTube videos on Santa Marta and I have reconsidered. It seems like a place I want to see again, 45 years later. When this CoVid 19 is over, I'll be on my way.

Went to the Banana Club yesterday, and I was honestly shocked at how different it was compared to recent reports. There were like 20+ chicas there on a Thursday night at 10 pm. A couple groups of locals must of spent a good amount of money because there were girls giving naked lap dances in the main area. A couple of really outgoing girls hung out with me, too. Maybe I just got lucky? I'm going to try again tonight and see if it's different. But yes, I agree there are a ton of Ven girls there and generally they're not super happy to be there.

Did you make it back and how did it go? I'm hopeful it was good as I'd really like to head that way but other reports indicated that Santa Marta is not worth visiting. My purpose is to relax and party if I run into the right one. Seems to have some worthwhile scenic national park beaches nearby and a day trip into Sierra Nevadas could be cool. My mongering if that's what it is, goes better for me when I'm really not looking.

Locals just trying to go about their business, hippy tourists, better off tourists and Venezuelan refugees either trying to sell you stuff, begging or sitting around in the parks. The police tend to show up in bursts all over the place, but there are many times and places that you won't see any. When the security guards in restaurant terraces or secure areas go off for a break, the begging Venezualans will come and start hassling you. ".

They everywhere around Parque 93 Bogota and especially, if after finish a nice meal or bar time hate them pestering me. Ruins the moment. Do feel sorry of them and try to help with small cash donations when I can but not on the Transmillenio where if I take my hands off the grab bar to dig out some change fall flat on my face the the bus comes to a quick stop etc.

Somebody needs go in there (VZ) ASAP and take that motherfucker out despite Iran, Soviets and China all inside making it all complicated. Then we have two Colombias!

I won't go with the parque chicas unless I see their IDs a lot of them look young but they are 21 or so.
