That is true but we are on a monger forum, not a family goes to the beach forum, and the bars in Rodadero are basically dead at night. If anyone should know this it is me, since I am here approximately 3 months a year staying at all various times of the year. During the day there is also no real partying going on at the beach, as the party is at night, and it is approximately 90 percent families who are doing the partying.

Also in Bowerboys post he was referring to meeting girls, and his quote was "El Rodadeo is a real party town" That could not be farther from the truth.

This forum has been around a lot longer than you and has always covered a broad range of topics related to the region in general.

Who are you to just pop up, make wild claims & accusations, and tell everyone else what's appropriate for its content?

This shit pisses me off when I see false information being posted. If you want beach action or a party atmosphere go to Cartagena, or otherwise you are going to be very disappointed.

Are you coming from a perspective that it's not a party unless the beach is full of prostitutes for you to have the pick of?

Everybody who goes to Rodero the first time is going to be struck by the Party Vibe at the beach. There may be a lot of Colombians on vacation, families, by its a fun party / night out. Maybe not a lot of girls working, but it only takes one.

Yeah El Rodadeo is a real party town. Rty that placei mentioned callled Club Ibiza, two of the girls were amazing.

I stayed at Betoma Hotel. Fantastic place. 1 block back from the beach (on Calle 8).75, 000 per night with seaview balcony and wifi. Great rooms and hot water too. Still really loud though with musicfrom trhe beach. Awesome beach scene though and seems noise inescapable anywhere in rodadero.

Was in Banana tonight at 10:30pm and it was a huge improvement over the previous visit 3 nights ago. But still nothing compared to Club Ibiza.

I live about 3 months out of the year off and on in Rodadero, as I own a condo at Condominio Santa Maria del Mar, and Rodadero is far far and far from a party place. Most bars or discos you are lucky to find any customers in them. It is actually a very quiet place accept for the beach at night. Beach scene? You must be taking some really good drugs, as there is very little action in the way of girls on the beach. What you will find is mostly families, or couples on vacation. If anyone takes the time to read back through other posts, you will also find others talking about how quiet the place is.

There are only 4 working girl bars in all of Rodadero and Santa Marta. Those looking for an apartment instead of a hotel, all you have to do is stroll across the beachfront. It has several apartment buildings with many rentals available, or you will find people standing everywhere with signs for apartment rentals. Most of these rentals are in Condominio Santa Maria del Mar or in Edificio Karey, as these two apartment complexes are basically next to each other. You can normally get a one or two bedroom rental for fifty to sixty dollars a night, and these are oceanview / beachfront facing properties. The cost for Christmas / New Years, and Semana Santa week are more. Bowerboy, if yiou are going to post information, post accurate information, or do not post at all, or get the frick off the drugs that you are hallucinating on.

Well firstly let me say that El Rodadero is an infinitely nicer beach and nicer place to stay than Santa Marta. The beach at Santa Marta is filthy and hat the guidebooks don't say is that there is a huge shipping port at one end of the beach. Anways enough of the lonely planet stuff apart from one lat thing. These guys party ALL night on the beach and it is LOUD. Do NOT get a beach facing apartment. I am one block back and it is still very loud even from here.

Ok. Flamingos is quite a long way out of town so don't have any illusions of walking there. I cannot coment on the girls as it was 9pm whn I got there and there were no girls present and I was told it doesn't get girls until 10pm. So instead I asked the taxi driver if he knew any other places and he took me to a place called "Club Ibiza". This WAS open at 9. 15pm and was on the way back into town from Flamingo's. It is on a smal right hand turning just after the petrol station. I guess all the taxi drivers would know it.

There about 12 girls there and some were average but my lord I saw the HOTTEST girl I have ever seen in Columbia there period. She as 18 and absolutely stunning. A 10 if ever a 10 exists. Just perfect. They have rooms on the premises and she started out at 150, 000 for 1 pop. This was more cash than I had on me so I sat and had a beer and was about to go when she came over and lowered the price to 100, 000 : ). The service was good but my word what an amazing body and incredible looks (maybe 5 foot 10, 6 pack stomach, perfect as and orderline the cup natural tits and all on an 18 year old frame!).

As I was leaving I saw a black girl who was almost identical but black. She was damn near perfect too. I will go back for the black girl before I leave for sure. Just absolutely stunning. I have very high standards and very discerning taste which can be a hindrance sometimes, but honestly these two girls were absolute top drawer. Also in there was a slightly chuby girl also about 18 or 19 with some of the biggest natural tits I have ever seen. I mean we are talking F Cup or something like that. Looked firm too.

A totally cool place if you're really into the Latin scene. As someone else once said in this thread, nothing beats the music and party scene on the beach there at night. Just hang out & eat some street food, have a few beers, talk to people. Maybe pay for a Vallenato set or two. I think I paid 60K per 1/2 hr set. Not sure though, it may have been less. It's kind of a foggy memory.

I am in Santa Marta now. The Banana Club is xactly behind the hotel I am stying in so very convenient. For those who wish to find it it is directly behind the Park Hotel. HOWEVER I would recomend not ven bothering.

I don't wish to diss anyone elses posts as things change but I am just saying it as I see it. I have never seen such a bunch of fat, unattractive and disinterested women in one bar before. It was absolute desperation stuff. The highest would of been a 3 in my opinion and the rest were pretty much ungradeable. To top it off they had the attitude of prima donnas.

BUT do not despair as I discovered a really excellent place as yet unmentoned and completely user friendly. It is on Calle 10. So basically walk to the far end of the beach to Calle 10 where the street walkers are (although I did not see any in that street). Walk up about 2 blocks (maybe 20 meters and on your left hand side you will see a club called "The Renobar". It has fairy lights and pumping music and a couple of doormen.

Go inside and it is like a normal bar with plastic chairs and tables and couple tvs playing fotball and a couple playing porn movies. There were about 15 girls in there. Some of them were not that great but there were two absolutely rock solid 9's in anyones book and 4 or 5 very solid 8's in anyones book. I took one of the 9's who was 39 kg and 19 years old. Great performance and oms on the premises. 80, 000 pesos all in and excelent, unhurried and friendly service. It was a great place and a great experience.

I would definitely recommend this place. No hassles and very user friendly. Pay upfront but felt super safe and totally comfortable.

Haven't been yet, but it won't be long. I don't see any reports about getting them off the beach. You guys see them hanging out in the sun like in Brazil? Nothing hotter than brown skin in a bikini.

One night I hired a taxi driver to take me to Santa Marta, show me around a bit, and then drop me at Bananas. It was large and dark and smokey and hoppin in there too. Most chicks were average but then this exquisite creature crossed my path and it was decided. Almost.

We we're having a drink at a table and I'm chatting her up and everything's cool so the obvious eventually comes up and she quotes COP 60K for 1/2 hr includes room and everything. Normally I don't do half hours and she must have sensed my hesitation because then she suggested "why don't you just try it for a half hour to see if I am pleasing to you and then if yes, we can meet some other afternoon".

Even though she is a full time pro and despite the eye brow piercing I was smitten by this babe. Truth be told, I was stunned and that's why I concealed her identity a bit and quite frankly I don't give a shit about the cat calls from the peanut gallery. Plus I think she asked me not to post them.

She was supposed to come over on Monday afternoon but flaked out but I didn't get pissed and kept the dialog going with her and on Tuesday afternoon she showed. It was about 95 F/35C out. After I had a fantastic vacation in Cartagena a few years ago I need to come back to Colombia. This time I will skip Cartagena. Because I did not here to much good news from there. And like to visit SM / Redadero.

I did read the forum of the last 2 years and have not really figured out where its better to stay. SM or Redadero?

Most users here stay in Redadero and go out in SM. Why that. Isn't it better to stay in SM in a apartment as well?

If you pick up girls in SM do they come to Redadero with you or are they complaining that its to far and would not join?

I will come with a friend and basicly we just sleep long. Go to the beach. Have food. And go out.

Where its best do stay? We are heading for a apartment?

There be plenty of places to stay in Rodadero! Sorry no pool ocean is right there! Nightlife on beach is very nice but forget the clubs in Rodadero go to el centro very nice some nice bars and a few clubs very inexpensive very young crowd pretty much college students also checkout the port its called el bahima or some shit like that another nice spot strip it full of restaurants! Have a good time!

I like Santorini - it's a bit more $ and not in Rodadero but alot nicer IMO plus you'd see the occasional colombian pop icon (we saw juanes when we were there)
