The worse thing to happen and the way to kill a thread or topic or group or poster is to separate it out. The worse thing that happen to Giotto was to get his own area. It would have been much better for him to stay in one area. The worse thing that happened to the MP section was to create THREE MP areas... how stupid was that?

I agree however, if my memory serves me right, a few senior people complained about the fact that there was only one massage thread adn that one place in particular was given too much praise: Tulip.
Another MP that is not very "liked" by some senior members is Annies so this one was also given a separate Thread.
As if by separating these threads people would post more content about the other places.... well, we're seeing that it does not work.

An attempt was made (via a Poll) to see what the general opinion was about it and ISG's member message is still there for all the folks to read: loud and clear: very few like the current setup and many want to go back to the "old" way.

but it has been too long now for anything to happen, best is to forget about it and just not post reviews.

Whenever there is something against the opinions of the administrator they get segregated out. And usually the administrator is someone who is not knowledgeable in the Thai threads.

That's not fair. Look, I have my own business and as an owner, if I want to change anything in the way my business operates, I do it.
Yes, I listen to what others have to say but ultimately it is my sole decision.

I think the administrator made a business decision, now whether it was a good or bad one, we can always debate about it but we will never know until we know the real reason why things are done.

And yes I see that most old senior members have stopped posting in the Thai threads. I hope the new class of mongers are as experienced and entertaining as the old group.

What happen to RA and others? Most are just gone, disappeared....

So, as long as this section of the forum is segragated it will slowly die like so many who were here in June debating. Everything use to be within reach now you have to travel far just to make a simple post! and when you do it gets deleted! Not only did it hurt these threads it hurts the rest of the general Forum itself. Personally I don't think the rest of the Forum is interesting any longer and it's no knock on other new members but overall I think the whole forum has less hits that before this all happen. Sure you might have more new members but they don't seem to post much and then their gone!

See you kind of missed the party! This all started in June of this year and I think in July I made several responses but they all got deleted even thought the rules said " if you can't stand the heat don't complain to me, just get out of the kitchen "

When you look at all the threads in the front page and go down down down to when you get to " after Penbelly in Thailand " you will see the word " Moved " then Thai women, opinions & advice " Living in Thailand " Thailand Fight club " Racisim against foreigners in Thailand " Thailand Politics " then look to the right there is a big hole! This hole! means put out to pasture, empty, baron! call it what you want! slow death and soon to be retired!

These threads at one time got daily hits and moved up and down like a escalator now it's just a free fall. When this was done many senior posted predicted exactly what was going to happen and that's why its location is where it is at today. Purposely done so that those who have strong opinions and have criticisms towards the board go to die. The debate pretty much brought out a very clear consenses that you really can't express yourself freely and the debate pretty much burn most of us out and many just left who were great contributors.

Recently, T.T. ask me to go back and I did all 31 pages and it brought back lots of old names and memories. At the same time it gave me even a more clearer picture as to how some or the rules and guidelines are applied or not applied to some members. The situation with OTH, brought out the best and worse in people. See when you have rules and guidelines regardless or public or private and they're not applied consistently you are going to have problems. When they are applied inconsistently and small items like posting in one thread and having it deleted because you don't want a conversation while another big rule is broken while nothing is done it only provides observers and posters thinking that someone agrees with the point of view although it is against boards rules or guidelines. It gives posters like myself the impression that it is personal because you have made negative criticism in the past and being a private site gives the person the right to pick and choose as to what they want deleted by applying rules and guidelines inconsistently.

These threads were moved because of OTH, and it will end because of him whether we like it or not. Yes - and in China we've got the added problems of periodic LE activities/Strike Hard Campaigns; Never know the tactics used, the timing and which "faction" doing it.

This is why most of us who post, to many times be wary of providing too much info... or even a helping hand - Ouch -especially to newbies and single digit members. And China - especially outside of Shanghai/Beijing/Guangzhou - is NOT an easy place for the non-Chinese speaking monger to get any proper/good action and can be quite dangerous actually. Oh well, the hell with them!! We all had to pay our own "price" and so....
