For what it's worth, my strategy towards watching the clock is simple: I don't. It's definitely a mood killer if the girl notices, and would be considered rude. I show complete respect at all times, and if the session was not good, I don't repeat. If during a session, I decide to not waste a shot, I end it gracefully, again with full respect. Good first review transited. I'm not surprised that Avril reacted like that.
