Are any of you aware of any car hire deals out of Dusseldorf airport ? I've looked around at some of the major sites, and the minimum rate I've been able to find is about 100 Euros a day !! I don't know if it's because I'm a foreigner or what, but that does seem quite high.

Looking for something for my 3 day trip to NRW next month. Let me know if you're aware of anything.

Here we are, as usual with a bit of a delay I post my trip report of a great weekend in GT.

So after two weeks back at work after summer holiday I needed a break and looking at the weather broadcasts of Brueggen I saw it had been sunny both Saturday and Sunday. I took it a sign of destiny and booked my Ryanair usual combination, one way to Hahn and return on Monday from Weeze!

There I was, at 00 in the night landed and at around 00,30 I was putting the key in the start of my rented Smart ready for a 250km ride till my hotel in Krefeld. About that, the hotel was great, Tryp Hotel Duesseldorf of the SolMelia chain where I had a single room for 3 nights for only 113€, Breakfast not included but I knew I had it in GT:-)

Before to get to the details of the two days, I must say that this weekend was pleased by a great highlight: Sunday I met up in GT with Travelerb69 and his Ocean Bear Friend who made me a great company during the day, with a lot of reciprocal hints and suggestion and great conversation through all day, so thank you a lot guys for the great time!

Now my two days!

DAY I – Saturday

Even if at the end the night before I went to sleep at around 4am, in the morning I was not able to sleep and therefore at 10,30am I was already in my car, GPS on, driving to GT!!

11,10 I was parking inside and getting buzzed in…. Men, after two stressful weeks at work in the after summer rush it was a great feeling to be there, seeing happy faces, girls around, etc…. but what was better was that when I still was paying the entrance fee, through the entrance of the bar area I saw Diana standing there who greeted me from far away…. All in all a great experience that I would like to repeat even if I do not know when as far as they are closed over the weekend!

Keep an eye on your robe or when hanging it up while in the hot tub or going for a shower: put some distinquishing non marking change to it. For example, rolling the sleeves up, or wrapping the belt around it, or poking your glasses out of the pocket. There have been the odd altercation in the showers when guys have been annoyed when someone else has taken their robe off the rack with their cash and/or cigarettes in it. You get the cry, "Hey, watch which robe you taking!!" The usual defence is, "Hey, they all look the same".
