I visited Golden Time on Thursday, the 25th of July, for the second time this month.

The closest train station to GT is in Kaldenkirchen. You will then have to take a cab to Brueggen.

From the airport you will need to take the train to the Hbf and then find the appropriate train heading to Kaldenkirchen (I can't remember the station at the end of the line - could be Venlo).

You may want to find a hotel in Brueggen rather than commute from Duesseldorf as you may find the train schedule not that convenient particularly if you are planning on visiting the club several days in a row.

You can get a bus from Viersen hbf to Bruggen market(every hour during the day),then its a 15 minute walk from there,the nearest place to stay is the Heide camp gasto,which is on the way from Bruggen market to Heideweg where GT is situated,and is easy to walk to and from,is is very reasonable cost wise,search this thread and you will find the info.

The idea is that guys shower after leaving the sauna and then head to the 'plunge pool'. This happens with the swimming pool in PHG during the colder months. You won't want to stay in the pool for too long anyway as the water wont be heated and will be pretty cold especially in the winter.

They must have set this up pretty quickly as I was at GT on the 5th July and there was no evidence of anything being built.

ON my first Juli visit to GT I saw a big hole dug in the ground near the outdoor couch area.

On my second Juli visit to GT I saw that pipes had been laid and a fine sand base was being blasted down to create a semi permeable layer.

On my third Juli visit to GT I saw that industrial strenght durable blue plastic covering has been laid around to create the water tight area.

On my fourth Juli visit to GT I saw that a pool had been built of about 3 meters in diameter and about 1.25 metres depth and was filled with cold water. Leaves, twigs, and insects were in the water so it was not been cleaned.

On my fifth Juli visit to GT the pool looked pretty much the same as on the fourth but the sides were being landscaped and wooden decking was beginning to be built around it.

Any idea how large this might be? And what its main use might be?

I estimate that the diameter is maybe 3 metres across (radius 1.5 metres) but that would be on the high side. It was filled with cold water when I saw it the fourth and fifth time in July. I saw no where any heating ducts could be installed and it was not especially deep. Maybe 1.25 metres deep.

Just think circular paddling pool and you get the picture.

I shower before I get in the whirl pool and also shower after I come out of the whirl pool. For the sauna I ensure I am clean before going in and definitely shower in cold water when I come out to cool down.

I have not used the pool to cool down but now that you mention it I have seen men at Oase do what you say. Maybe it is acceptable and is a quick way to cool off.

While at Golden Time they have nearly finished completing the plunge pool in the back garden area. It is a pity that no permission has been given for a real pool to be set in the garden at Golden Time. It is just a cold water (not warm) plunge paddling pool sited next to the outdoor couches.
