Is Kaarst accessible by public transport from Dusseldorf?

Yes and quite simple. You can get off the train at the Kaarst Ikea stop and walk to the hotels by LR if you don't have much luggage or it rolls, or has backpack straps. You probably need a cab otherwise but by the time you find one you could have walked to the hotel. It's an open air, above ground platform and I didn't see a single cab. A lady at a convenience store said she would call one for me but I just walked. Anyway, exit the train platform area and take a right and go down the street a few hundred yards then right at the first traffic light- I think there's a McDonalds just ahead of where you are taking the right. The two hotels most people use are another few hundred yards down on the right. You can't miss it and the first Sports hotel is on the corner of the street LR is on.
