IPod touch first or second generation, iPad first generation. They don't have a camera so you will be allowed to use them in almost every club. Yes, they might ask you what device it is and if it has a camera, but I never had an issue with that.

I normally stay in the club from opening until closing so I seriously need to do something else besides ogle girls and staring at the wall. Reading is nice, but sometimes I just want to watch some movies that I've been meaning to see.

100% true! Any device with the camera "verbotten" in FKK. Sometimes I read there my Sony E-Book reader. Before to take it inside I introduce it to trekenfrau. Usually she calls security guy and he checks that there is no camera on my device. Only after that he allows me to use it. In some club they put sticker on my reader.

You always can ask at the reception where you allowed to make a call. Usually they are cooperative.

I check my e-mails keeping my BlackBerry inside of locker. Newer faced any problems with that.

When the girls come over, they aren't marveling at your latest movie, they're looking for the lens to see if your taking pictures. All it takes is one girl to think she's might get recorded and she'll go to management. You want to watch video's in a club, but an ipod touch.

I have only seen people (both visitors and girls) use their phones in the little outside area next to the relax in the basement, and around the corner in the outside area next to the bar. I haved never seen a phone at use in the bar. So I guess that if you open your tablet och IPhone in the bar they will ask you to put it away. Maybe it could be OK in a corner in the Relax, but I doubt it.

In what clubs has it been OK, and where in the club has it been OK?

What movies do you recommend for a club visit? No just kidding! I can understand that a movie could be a way to spend some time between sessions, just like reading a book.

I, myself, have never been able to read at any club, all the nude girls keeps taking my attention away from the book, and I loose my concentration (in a good way)!

When I visited Samya I liked it as a club. But I am used to Artemis which I would say is upscale both in facilities and the girls that work the room. Samya felt to me more like a neighborhood bar. It is small-ish with girl who are on the whole less glamourous. This has its' charm for me but I would not describe it as upscale. Also I found the physical layout of the club made it on the whole more difficult to contact the girls. Much has be written about this if you take the time to read the thread.

Likewise Bernds. All you have to do is actually read what has already be written and you will get an idea of why Bernds is an acquired taste.

Only PSR is very close to Cologne and also a big club. Samya with its 2000 sqrm is most certainly not a small club. In the Cologne area I would prefer PSR because of the outdoor facilities that are almost non-existent in Samya.

I agree with Big30 about the outdoor facilities, they are much better in PSR, and most of the indoor facitilies (except the rooms) as well, and the food. But on the most important ingrediens Samya beats PSR big time. The line-up in PSR are in my opinion poor. On my visits I have not been able to find more then 2 or 3 stunners, and maybe 5 more doable girls. Samyas line-up are so much better. Most of the girls are very beautiful, and the club have also during this spring improved the variety (more german girls, and more exotic girls). But this is a matter of taste of course.

It's no secret that I am big fan of Samya. Very clean and well run club with fiendly managment, that are hands on in running the club. The club have strict rules on animation, prices and service-level, and all the girls (that I have met) have followed them.

If you value the possibilites to sun-tan, take a swin or have a great meal, then you should go to PSR. But if you are looking for beautiful girls you are better of going to Samya, or LivingRoom I Kaarst or Acapulco in Velbert. Since you need a car to go to PSR, I would put 20-30 more minutes in that car and visit LivingRoom or Acapulco instead. Or just take tram Nr. 16 from the city center in Cologne and go south to Samya. (station Michaelshoven).

I am not sure I would classify Samya as "upscale" actually. It is a small club and the amenities are not anywhere near such clubs as Oase. Artemis et. Al. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice little club just that it has its' quirks. Like wise Bernds, as good a club as I think it is, I would never say it is upscale.

No, not true. You can get the DB-card without residence in Germany. They sometimes have probe-abonnement (trial membership) which comes at a very reduced price for three months and you must cancel after three months if you do not want to keep it. I have done that. It's worth the money if you are planning heavy travels with DB in a period of 3 months. You must explicitly send an e-mail or a letter to cancel it though, or else you are charged for another 12 months.

Correct. You don't have to be a German resident to qualify. I am British and held a DB50 card for 12 months. It saved me a fortune during the period.

The advice Mattador gives about cancellation is very valuable. Whatever sort of membership you apply for, be certain to actively cancel it at the end of the period or you will become liable for a further period of subscription. I fell foul of the small print myself and it took 2 years before I could persuade DB to drop the legal case against me for non-payment of my 2nd year's subscription.
