Sorry to hear the news of DS, only meet him very briefly so can't say I knew him other than his writings here, I was seated not far from him at one of his favorite restaurants, he gave me the nod of approval to the wine I select and without being rude complemented my lady friend on her attire. Many reports of him being gruff and angry, I can only say he was a gentleman in my presence. While most of us know very little of each other private life, GoodEnough could you please enlighten us with his cause of death?

Sad news as I had noted he was not on the board and not YM either where I usually was chatting with him.

Having known him for some time but nowhere near as log as you, he was a good guy despite his demeanor at times. We all have flaws and DS certainly had his but he looked after his extended family well. All the children etc and never shirked those responsibilities, unlike many others in Asia.

A Day to be with your Family and dine together on turkey, yams, sweet potatoes, stuffing, baked and mashed potatoe, and stand, one by one, to "Give Thanks" while holding a glass of cheap, $3 a bottle red wine. Wines are great. Lady bartenders are all nicely dressed and in full make up. Large portions are given of the wines and there are three tables full of gourmet foods. We grab a plate and down some delicious sautéed mushrooms, skewered, sauteed chicken, beef, pork and numerous cheeses. I regret bringing a Lady. Among the Fil-Chinese women I see many solid 9. 0's on a 1-10. Most of them appear to be with women friends. The men appear to have mostly come alone.

I drink a good portion of complimentary French Red and a glass of Champagne. I then purchase a bottle of the Champagne and a bottle of the one, nice Red. We depart as I do not wish to get drunk this early in the evening and amongst Davao's Upper Class. I thank the Ladies and the Owner. Ask the manager and the Owner to include me in ALL future Wine Parties.

The Nouveaux Beaujolais Wine Tasting was fun. I had flown down from Manila that morning and had little time to rest before the Event. The Guest Speaker was the Owner of a Vineyard in Beaujolais that has been in his Family for more than 200 Years. He came over and spoke with me, personally, for ten minutes. I could barely stay awake after several glasses of great wine and an excellent dinner. I departed early back to my Hotel. Both of my Sons and the Sitter were asleep when we returned. I fell sound asleep a few minutes later.

A 2nd Wine Tasting of French Reds will take place this Thursday, November 26, at Swiss Deli. It is also Free of Charge. GoodEnough secured a VIP Invitation for me. I will attend. This IS US Thanksgiving Day. I do NOT like this Holiday and I do NOT celebrate it so I am pleased to have a Wine Party to attend.

I did NOT hear from anyone (all 14 Members who read my Forum). I guess no one is interested in the Event approaching. GoodEnough informed me that it is completely sold out! No more reservations are being taken and all preparations are underway. This will be a huge Event but Damaged by what the Monkeys did in Paris last Friday evening. How you can do such a thing and then boast of doing it I will NEVER comprehend. I was even thinking they might cancel the Event but it has been planned for months and involves someone travelling from France for this Event.

GE told me he secured it Prime Real Estate at the Party / Dinner. I am flying in my youngest Son and his young, beautiful Mother. She is so excited, she prepared for the trip right after I telephoned her. Need to locate a baby sitter for my young Son and, possibly, his older Brother in Davao. I will post on what transpires in Davao. Just hope no Monkeys are anywhere in the vicinity and get the fucked up idea to "trash this Event". I hope they thought to have armed Security for the Evening.

I arrive soon here in Davao City. GoodEnough has reserved a VIP table for us at the big wine Event to take place at Bon Appetit. I would suspect a large attendance as this has been advertised for at least three (3) months now. Commences at 6:00 PM and dinner afterwards at Bon Appetit with everyone having consumed a substantial portion of French wines and ready to dine on French cuisine and drink more French wines. I have no idea who I will bring unless I have one of the Mothers accompany me. Problem then IS that I will have two (2) children to arrange sitters for as this is not a function for children. Girl was not even supposed to be there yet she wanted Filipino food. Now when my daughter was a little girl, she requested chicken adobo at Claude's Café de Villi on Rizal St, Davao City. I telephoned another Restaurant and arranged for it "To Go". That was for MY DAUGHTER. SHE WAS FIVE! She ended up eating and loving the French cuisine and the Filipino food was consumed in the morning for her breakfast.

Perhaps I will see some of You next week here in Davao.
