They reminded him of the City Ordinance and that he was informed of this upon check in. Ended with him apologizing and paying the fine.

If a guy smokes, Davao IS NOT the Place to visit. The Ordinance strictly prohibits smoking in any place inside any Hotel in the City. Marco Polo has an outside smoking area off the Eagles Nest Bar on the ground floor. Each time you want to smoke you must ride the elevator to the ground floor and go to this smoking area. This IS what that 18 year old from CDO that I made the mistake of bringing to Davao a year ago had to do. She told me that there were a lot of young women there smoking. Only good thing about it.

Only place I can recommend for smokers is the Red Knight Garden. This is very far from the main section of the city and somewhat isolated.
