By the way, it is easy to buy your tickets over there. There are lots of travel agents. You probably want to pay in Baht and not credit card though as they'll charge you extra for the percentage they loose from the credit card company. Competition is usually fierce so the markup or profit is relatively low. I think you should expect to pay anywhere from $250-450 for a roundtrip ticket to Manila. Expect to pay around $50 each way to the airport though.

This happened while I was in AC. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned about this yet. Met a couple people there that were robbed in this incident. The thieves were generous enough to at least let them keep their passports. Do not know if this is a common risk associated with Perimeter road hotels, but made me think twice about staying far from Fields.

By all means don't buy them in the US! I buy my tickets in Thailand just like you are planning. There usually aren't issues with seats being hard to get or lead times. You'll pay alot more in the US.

I'll be in Pattaya in two days and will be buying tickets to AC (Manila) from Thailand. Will this be easy to do? Or should I buy them now in the US? BTW, I'll have 5 days in Pattya so the tickets will be for about 5 days I purchased them. Will I run into any problems?

I like the Clarkton, but I have a motorcycle. It is a long haul back and forth from the action. You can rent a bike for 350 p to 600 p a day (scooter vs dirt bike).

Of your back ups, Wild Orchid will probably be the quietest, but also the priciest. Orchid is a good alt. but books up. Good luck.

I will be in Angeles for 2 days in December.

Arrive Wed afternoon the 6th and have to be back in Manila for a 6:30am flight on Friday to the States.

I reserved a Suite I at the Clarkton. I am wondering if I should be closer to town with the limited time I am there? What's it like getting back and forth to Fields Ave?

I like to stay at a decent place and I also like it quiet so I can sleep (probably during the day due to jet lag)

The other hotels I would consider are:

Wild Orchid
Orchid Inn
Royal Amsterdam
Blue Nile Executive Hotel

Pretty amazing really when you consider 500 pesos is 10 bucks! Pretty hard not to get your moneys worth.

Let's suppose an expense of 1.200 pesos for one barfine. Then you would pay:

= 1.200 pesos for one shot (if going for one round only), but
= 600 pesos per shot (two rounds), or
= 400 pesos per shot (three rounds).

After this exercise you will have most likely a fair chance to sleep soundly! Well, and the Viagra sellers on the streets might enable you to go even for round four. It's just a matter of pure economics, isn't it?! :)

I find it difficult to sleep with them as well. The only reason I do LT is so I can wake up to some pussy in the morning. A BBBJ would be nice first thing when you wake up but the bulk of the bargirls are pretty worthless in that regard.

But I must admit I haven't found to many who want to leave right away after only one shot. Usually they try to settle in for the night and it's kind of hard to get them to leave.

Most of the girls will be happy to leave after one shot, in fact some will even try without being asked. While most of the tourist bars on Fields offer only LT ie you'll have to pay the full fare 1200 even if you only require ST, many Perimeter bars do offer ST at a reduced rate. Even at LT Perimeter offer better bang for the buck. Enjoy AC!

Just arrange with the girl in the bar that you only want ST and I am sure she will be most happy to accomadate you. See if you can get a discount also you might or might not depends. Frankly If Iwas you I would just go ST in the Bar itself (Most have back rooms)and get your shot in and be done with it. ST is usually 500 pasos with a full barfine at 1000-1200.

Actually it's Dr. Holm's. It was not that bad last night when I checked it. Small line up with only 3-4 dancers each group on a small stage, but at least all were dancing and smiling most of the time. No Jolibees on stage, which I appreciate. I don't go to a bar to watch fat women. Period. Friendly staff and SML @ 50 peso's a pop. WIR=yes.
