Last night, as I was sipping a cappuccino and speaking poetry to my favorite putas, some folks came in to make a routine stop and make sure everyone was behaving themselves. When I say some, I mean about 100. When I say folks, I mean cops.

At about 9:30pm, prime time on a Friday night, the local gendarme conducted a raid of the Hotel Del Rey. They came in en masse, and blocked all the exits. I'm currently in Costa Rica San Jose but I'm quite disappointed with the level of girls here. I'm really picky and looking for 9-10. I've been to del rey a ton of times but only found a couple of girls I like and they're not even there on a regular basis. I've been to Tango India also and found some good looking girls, but the 400$ exit fee is ridiculous and it's a pain in the ass to get phone numbers, cause they risk their job if the administration find out.

I'm 26 why. O and I have healthy income so I don't mind spending in the 200-400$ range but I just can't just anyone!

I tried also an escort webpage but the girls I like are not available or won't come to my hotel (presidente) cause they're banned.

Massage parlors are not an option, went to one and quality is not good enough for me.

So what would you recommend for me to go in central / south america? I like thin girls w cute faces, tight ass, boobs not so important. And good in bed. In my experience the best I've experienced is Brazil. And Argentina is kind of good but my last trip there suxed, girls were not half as good as in 2008. I was thinking of Colombia, do you think it's the wisest option?

I think you may be a little picky. You're going to find the same thing in any place you go to. I think I'm similar and I agree that in a bar full of 100 girls usually there is just 1 or maybe 2 that I'm interested in. You got to realize though anywhere you go it's going to be like that. There's probably 3-500 girls to choose from in all the places in San Jose, you just got to put in the leg work and check them all out. I generally get in the best shape of my life in CR from all the screwing and mainly the walking checking out every place. I think it would help also to know what your type of girls are. I'm not a big fan of asians or black girls so I know that I won't have as much fun in Thailand and Dom rep. But everything else is a bit better.

Delayed reply but I think Pantera Rosa is the best bang for your buck for a strip club. Especially since it has been redone! They have 3 poles, there is always a girl on stage, sometimes 3 on the weekends. 5000 colones cover (10 bucks) but comes with 2 beers or 3 rail drinks. 5000 colones for chica drinks which gets you a lap dance basically in the public area until her drink is gone. Privates (sexo in the little back rooms) go for like 15, 000 colones per 15 minutes. Don't pay more than that, some of those girls try to be sharks.

I had a great time in san jose. We did 8 nights in JAco (I'd never go back. Report was posted in jaco section). And we did less than a week in san jose. The girls were outstanding in san jose. But very pricey. Lots of daytime action which I like (Idem, HLH. New Fantasy, etc.). Sporttmans was great for breakfast and great views. I would go back to san jose. But def not my first or second choice for a destination pick. Idem was too dark inside. You couldn't even see the girls. Good times was ghetto. HLH was good. Del ray was awesome. Just very expensive for takeout.

I will be going to Costa Rica for the first time next month, although I have been to Central America a number of times. I was wondering if any old hands can tell me if there are any "gold standard" strip clubs in San Jose that one should not miss. For example, I would probably have never known about "Lips" in San Salvador without this board, and that would be a real shame. I think it's one of the best damn strip clubs in the world! But a bunch of places around it suck pretty bad. Same goes for "Platinos" in Guatemala City. I wouldn't miss Platinos if I was going to GC, and I'd probably go out of my way to go to Lips in SS. Same with some clubs in Mexico. So, any place like that in San Jose that you would tell your buddies to visit at all costs? Some features of an awesome club for me:

-Lively atmosphere, safe, but plenty of people drinking beer and having a good time. Like a good American strip club.

-Constant stream of pretty girls dancing. No bullshit like I seem to find often, like a few bored girls fucking with their phones in the corner, once in a while a half assed dance on stage.

- Good prices; gringo prices are OK, Japanese business man clip joints are not. Cover is OK, as is $5ish beer and $20 lap dances max.

- on premise service is great, but optional. I think I've got that part figured out by reading the forums here.

-Full nude is a big plus.

Basically, looking for good bars, which happen to have a bunch of hot naked women around. For the two clubs I mentioned above, I've been to a bunch of shitty ones in those cities that were a waste of time.

I've been to idem but I couldn't find anything like. There was one cutie tough, but she didn't have really have a tight body. Would have taken her for a BBJJ, but it's not a standard here in CR and girls always ask en extra fee.

Yes, BBBJs are not necessarily a "standard" in CR, but I generally haven't had much of a problem getting them from most of the ladies I've dallied with, Idem ladies included. Sometimes, I've experienced some hesitancy in this regard during the very first session with a lady, and I take it in stride. But, I make it clear that any future encounters must include this "necessity," and this strategy often works. I also sometimes negotiate this service beforehand, but not always. BTW, ladies don't "always" demand a tip for this. Much too strong of a generalization. I've encountered plenty of ladies who naturally incorporate this into their "repertoire" without even mentioning a propina.

Idem, like any place, can be hit-or-miss. You might walk in at the wrong time and the hotties are all in the rooms. I have had great success there over the years and have sometimes met up with their ladies at my hotel before and after their shifts.

Are the prices $200-$400?

Not hardly. One-hour Idem sessions in the rooms upstairs go for 31, 000 colones and 36, 000 colones for sessions in the two rooms downstairs, which feature greater and more private shower access. In dollars, a range of roughly $62-$72. I have had a lot of good times there.

BTW, Tango India is a total ripoff. And even thinking of paying $200-400 in this economy is incomprehensible to me, even for TLN. The lady will simply think you are a complete idiot. Finding 9s and 10s is admittedly not very easy, but they can be had for much less. I have occasionally broken my "no cien" rule in pursuit of them, with mixed results. Paying more in no way assures better service.
