Medellin Hotels and Rental Apartments

I'm thinking about staying at Hotel M for a couple nights but during reservation process they're asking how I heard about them. Should I mention this site or say a friend who has stayed there recommended it to me?

Tell them this site. I think the reason for that question is to weed out the normal tourists who are not interested in the ladies.

Yes, M1 and M2 are a bit different. M2 is quieter / discreet, but a good hike uphill from M1, which has most of the actions. The girls tend to show up during the day at M1 and hang by the pool. The Cueva (tiny bar / disco) is at M1 and opens around 6 pm. In general, if you are new to the scene, M1 is better for you. As you visit more often, you might prefer M2, which I do these days.

I would like to hear from anyone about an apartment they've stayed at in Laureles which was quiet and preferably a higher floor. I've stayed at san peter suites before but think they may be booked up. I plan on being there from 9/1 to 9/12.

Don't care if it is chica friendly or not.

Just booked my first trip to Medellin in October, thanks to everyone for the great reports and pictures on this site.

Going to stay in an apartment as I have food allergies and want to cook all my own food.

I don't care about nightlife, I just want to go to the gym, visit some casa's and get a escort or visit a strip club for a short time at night then chill, so don't want to be in a loud area.

Want to be near a supermarket too.

Do you lot think I would be better staying in El Poblado or Laureles? I don't speak Spanish but I don't plan on talking to many locals apart from the girls.

I posted a review few days ago in MDE thread. . I saw upto three chicas a day with no issues. I used to be a big fan of Airbnb but they have become a pain due to city wide systematic crackdown. Now I stay in licenced hotels without chica fees.

In my last trip, I had stayed at Mansion. Over all experience was good. I am planning a second trip in October. This time I want to stay near park Lleras. I need a place that is chica friendly, has breakfast, daily cleaning service, super quiet room, and safe. My budget is up to 80 dollars. Please suggest if you have any recommendations.

Soul looks fabulous and everything I'm looking for. I have a hold on the best apartment in the building (or so sez the listing) for 24 hours. And a super host to boot! Thank you for the info.

My only hesitation, and it's slight, is that it may be a very touristy area, something I was trying to avoid. I messaged with host Christian and he didn't answer my question about that directly, but he seemed to imply it was a bit away from the craziness. (Part of my test with hosts is to ask questions and see what their responsiveness is. Christian answered about 4 questions within 2 minutes each.) Can you confirm about the location? Should I be jumping at this? It's within my budget. It looks absolutely gorgeous with great amenities.

I do not recall SEEing any touristy businesses from the hotel. But I did not explore the area. I only walked up the hill and around the corner to a small shopping area with a nice supermarket, several restaurants, and other mall type businesses. And the view from my room on the 7th floor did not include any touristy businesses.

The only tourists within five blocks of there will be staying in that building. You could probably say it is in a commercial residential area. I am fairly sure it's on the side of a hill. So unless you are in good physical shape, you will probably be using taxis and ubers to return from restaurants. You can walk downhill to the restaurants.

This building is in Poblado, but not right next to park Leras. So I am not sure what you mean by the touristy area. The area of Poblado is the touristy area, if you want local and speak spanish go to El Centro there are cheaper places there. I went inside a unit here and they are newly renovated and very nice.
