Medellin Hotels and Rental Apartments

I know some do because Hawaii Suites is listed on Hotels.com for $30 a night, also very near the downtown zone, closer then 3 the suites.

So I took a look at their website (Hawaii Suites), and didn't like the quality of the rooms much, except for the one with the round red bed! The other place (3 D Suites) hasn't answered me as of yet except that one time with the rates on their website but no weekly rates. So I decide to stay in Hotel Botero for half my trip, for the sake of convenience (right in the heart of all the fun! And the rest of my trip will be in Hotel 47 Medellin Street. This way I can scout it and see how good it is. This definitely saved me some plata, but the main reason is that I'll be meeting a couple of Colombian Cupid girls. The one I like I can take back to luxurious Deluxe VIP suite with hot tub! Plus, I called them again today and they backed down on the chica fee, saying its 25 k now, rather than 50 k like they told me 10 days ago! Made sure to take the name of the employee that provided the info and made sure she understands that I will be taking care of her as well.

I will report how this goes. This hotel is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the centro action, less than 5 minutes taxi ride, and a bit closer to Poblado.

Followed your advice and emailed them to see if they have like a weekly rate if I want the room for the whole week, written in spanish of course. They replied back with the same "tarifas" that are on the website for short stays and overnights! Not sure if they didn't understand or just do not rent on a full day or week basis. I sent another email to explain what I am looking for in more details, haven't received an answer yet.

Will advise if I find out anything, thanks for the info and suggestions.

Actually what I meant was why not stay at the 3 the Suites full time? It's only about 2. 4 km from Botero Plaza. They might give you a good rate for a multi day rental.

Step (1) Look for rental companies in Cartagena. I use several. I've even brought t-shirts and other crap from duty free to give the employees.

Step (2) Contact them (usually on whatsapp) and ask for nightly rate and room type. Don't chat them up. Just tell them what you want.

Step (3) Tell them you need a building that accepts visitors. Ask them what the rules are. Ask them again to confirm.

Step (4) Have fun!

I just got done booking my week long stay at 250 k a night. I could have haggled down to 220 k probably (I get the same place at 200 k during off-season in September and November). Balcony facing the beach. 5 minutes from Playa Hollywood. Several new buildings in the area. Furnished. Clean. Security staff very friendly. Only rule I ever heard was not having two chics at the same time but that shit never stopped me. Last trip I had 3 chicas in my apartment at one point.

The walking area at night can be sketchy but one can have a taxi / or uber drive right in and up the the floor where the room chosen is located. Very clean and worth the 4 hours or so fun, Room service of food and other items using a private cubby delivery system is neat. The front desk does not speak English and also on the phone, so if you lack those skill, your companion might have to order. The steam room has to be activated by the staff or at least that was my experience. The food was good providing a nice break. Music was good, TV and chair and moving bed-.

P. S: When I asked for Wolf66's advice, he said that's crazy! LOL! He advised to stay in Botero, and when I want to use a fancy room with hot tub, just use one of the short term love motels like 3 D suite and such. I am leaning towards the same decision, but thought I'd ask the pros in here.

So I found this hotel on Booking.com. Very tempted. The rooms look great and I'm reserving the VIP suite with the hot tub. The place seems very modern and clean, problem is chica-friendly or not.

So I called the whataspp number they have posted and spoke whoever answered the phone, they said that I can register 1 guest since I reserved a room for 2, and more than welcome to have visitors as well, but about 50 k a body! This seems real steep for me.

I loved staying in El Centro last year, Hotel Botero, but I was hoping to find better accomodations (better AC, small safe, modern, hot tub!) in the same area close to the heart of action.

If anyone tried this hotel, or has an idea of what can be a good substitute, please advise.

P. S: When I asked for Wolf66's advice, he said that's crazy! LOL! He advised to stay in Botero, and when I want to use a fancy room with hot tub, just use one of the short term love motels like 3 D suite and such. I am leaning towards the same decision, but thought I'd ask the pros in here.

That place looks freaking nice all new and only 50 a night. Is it girl friendly is the question.

I stayed there in September and it was chica friendly but they charged a small fee, I think about $20. It was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Almost any of the better hotels in Medellin will have problems with bringing in girls. Either they will charge for each one, or they will not allow them to enter.

It would probably be different if people only brought in appropriately dressed girls, but most bring in hood rat prepagos who dress and act like prepagos. The typical business travelers, the families on vacation and everyone else who is not an active monger don't want to see it.

Stayed at the Suite Comfort a couple nights, chica friendly, but they charge $50,000 pesos for each chica you bring to your room. If you get a Double, they will not charge a $50 M fee for the first chica. Nice rooms, but I think the hotel is a little overpriced. Good breakfast buffet. Great view from the dining room (7th floor) of the city and of a casa almost directly across from the hotel. The doorman pointed out a casa across from the hotel. You can tell which apt it is because there is a sign on the balcony of the apt with the phone number on it. CAll the number, the place is open Tue-Fri. A guy working at a restaurant (steakhouse) several doors down confirmed that it is a puta house. By the way, the steak house several doors from the hotel, is good and you can get steak and bake potato and salad for $20 M (7 $-8 US). Also right around the corner is a pizzarea, which makes pretty good pizza. I tried the Napolitana and it was delicious, lots of green tomato diced onto the pizza with a real yummy sauce. Also when the doorman took me up to the dining area (7th flr) to show me the around, he introduced me to a man I think who manages the dining room area. I got the impression this guy will also set up a customer with a chica upon request..

My best guess is about 25 to 30 blocks, probably further than you want to walk since taxis are very cheap. That area is all flat, so it is not like walking in Poblado.

Suite Comfort is located several blks from La Setenta, with lots of bars and places to eat. It seems the south side of La Setenta (where Suite Comfort is) is more tranquilo and upscale than the north side (where the Metro is). 15 minute walk to the Metro Estadio from the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet family type neighborhood. Around the corner from the hotel (on a main street) is a neighborhood bar (with street tables) with a real friendly owner and patrons, had a great time shooting the bull and drinking inexpensive beer. Enjoyed my brief stay at Suite Comfort.

Also discovered a few blocks down the main drag a hotel call Aloha Inn, one block from the Unicentro (upscale commercial mall). This place charges $70 M a night and is billed as a new hotel. The rooms don't have windows but I checked out a room, very nice spacious clean and quite. The lady managing said I can bring over as many chicas as I want, no charge. Asked her about caja de seguridad in the room, she said they no have but no problems there, not to worry. The hotel itself, on the first floor it is for garage car parking with one corner reserve for the reception area for the hotel. Odd arrangement but it works. The second and upper floors are for hotel rooms and the first floor for cars.

Terra Biohotel, Calle 35 #64 A-92.

It appears to be a new construction, just a short ways from Luna Lunera. Looks like $50/ night for double occupancy with free breakfast. All the amenities plus air conditioning and free bicycle use if you feel like pedaling around the park.

You can find it on Booking.com or their website http://www.terrabiohotel.com.

Might be an alternative for some.

I just stayed 4 nights at the Suite comfort hotel on circular 5. No additional fees charged. This is close to a private casa, I found a chica on mileroticos and her apartment was 4 blocks from this hotel. Walked over to see her very convenient. She said there were 5 ladies in the house. So kind of like a casa but private. The cost of a room at the hotel was $43.

How close is this to casa Energy (or Energias).
