I just got back from a second trip to Medellin. I was last there 4 weeks ago and the Airbnb was great. For some reason I tried a different Airbnb in Laureles and the experience was not as good. It had a Jacuzzi so I though "that's cool" but when I arrived they were still cleaning it and when they were done it was too complicated to bother with.
This place was much smaller than my last place it was more like a loft or studio. The kitchen was small and fridge was the size of a bucket. Not the worst part (it's coming) there were two separate flights of stairs that I didn't like. The host was very standoffish (more on that).
The dude was telling me that after I wiped my ass I couldn't flush it down the toilet. There was a bucket next to the toilet that was the size of a small brown bag. He looked at me said "I had to take it outside and up the block on Monday and Wednesday. I was like "Ok yeah sure. ".
After he left I noticed there were signs over the toilet saying use the trash bucket that's what it's for. I was taken aback when I saw a sign on the door that depicted a red heel and statement of "say no to the sex tourist" I was offended. I flushed all of toilet paper down that toilet.
The next time I will pay attention to where I rent!

I am heading to Medellin in May and trying to narrow my accommodation down. So far I am thinking about Orang suite and Energy but if anyone has had a good experience with an Airbnb, please share. Also I don't see alot mentions of vrbo on here, are they not good to deal with? I am looking to spend 500 to 600 usd for 5 days, place should be guess friendly. Thanks.

I'm trying to book an AirBnb in Medellin starting April 13th or so for a week. Noticed some places have AC and most don't. Is an AC recommended for Medellin for that time of the year due to humidity or is it perfectly doable without it?

Posts: 113Booking Direct / Getting the Deposit Back / Reputable Rental Companies
I would think one of the big advantages of AirBNB is that the company will not process a damage claim without proper documentation while I have heard horror stories about not getting a deposit back if you book directly. Are there reputable companies in Medellin that one can rely on them returning the deposit without hassle?
I'm looking in Laureles an Poblado by the way.
Thanks.

Posts: 133Any recommendations for Laureles airbnb or apart-hotels
Hey everyone. J.
Just wondering if anybody has a good recommendation for an airbnb apartment, similar to San peter, which is chica friendly in Laureles.
San Peter is way too noisy, makes it hard to sleep late in the night. Ideally I would prefer it to be just 2-3 blocks away form LA 70, preferably near exito.
Thanks everyone!
