I've stayed at both. Hotel Alcaravan has small rooms with really small bathrooms (unless you want to pay more for a 2 or 3 cama room and the BRs are still really small). The hotel is kept really clean.

Central plaza. I stayed only 2 nights as the girls were complaining it was to long a walk from the strip. Also nice and clean.

Granted both stays were a couple of years ago but I don't see things changing all that much.

Due to over booking in Poblado and Colombian business custom of room rate for double occupancy Sun thru Thursday I ended up near Metro Estadios station. Lots of bars and dancing places. Does anyone know of other action?

This is more like a budget hotel with no safe.

I just stayed 10 days in the Mayorista section. On the corner of Cra 50 and the strip there is a hotel above the Casino that has recently been remodeled.

The front, corner rooms are good sized. 31, 000 COP per night. Manager speaks fluent Ingles.

They are used to being used as short time rooms so unless you are bring more than one girl at a time there is no extra charge. Prices range from 50k to 70k per night. There are plenty of supermarkets inside the Central Mayorista wholesale market across the road. Ayura metro station is a 10 min walk away.

Thanks for the reply. I am interested in finding a safe hotel staying for about one week. Uninterested with the short term places since security is an issue.

I've stayed here a couple times when the Mansion is sold out or just plain get's tired of me.

Roughly $60 with a good breakfast and a crappy dinner. $75 for junior suite. Rooms are plush with fast internet. Girl friendly. She registers at the desk, but there's no charge. The last one I called over, they called me from the desk, I told them to send her up, and boom, she was knocking on the door. Not sure what they think of threesomes.

If you book for 2 people and only bring 1 girl back to your room, but they will register her. If you don't book for 2, thet are not.
