Posts: 2September Return Trip To the Medellin Mansion / Hotel Medellin Plaza
made my return to medellin and the mansion, now called the hotel medellin plaza, after 2 years away and i must say i had a great time. the staff took very good care of me during my 10-day september visit and i enjoyed the new downstairs bar, especially the lazy sundays with nfl ticket. they even made us free hot dogs! and the girls were incredible. i like the flacas and i was not disappointed. on my last trip i had gone on several daytime casa runs but this time i found the talent level of the "mansion girls" so much to my liking i was scheduling them to come visit me for a late morning or early afternoon session almost every day. i recognized about 4 girls from my june 2010 trip. the hotel itself could use a little work on the outside as i noticed a few cracks along the roofline. but the inside was fine. i started my stay in "the dungeon" room #9 for several days. it is small and dark but it is cozy and has a couple of large mirrors that give the illusion of more space. the bathroom is quite small and might be a problem if you are extremely large. but since i am not it is a great value at about $59 with breakfast and more than adequate. i then moved up to room #6 which seemed huge by comparison. king bed, floor to ceiling mirror, large bath with jacuzzi, couch, many windows with lots of light and my own pc with wired high speed internet. it is a great place for entertaining and it is the only room with a balcony, which is really convenient if you or your chica smokes. i don't, but i turned that balcony into my own private photo studio. at about $89 it was worth the extra. felt like i had a giant suite. i enjoyed myself so much and made so many new friends i will be heading back for a week at christmas. and in the future it looks like i will be splitting my time between the beach at sosua, dr and here. in fact i just returned from 13 days in the dr at blackbeards and sosua. if anyone wants any current info on either just shoot me a pm.

Posts: 231New Studio an new three Bedroom house in Viscaya
We are now done with our new studio. It sits next to our other studio inside Hotel Lleras. I own almost the 2nd floor now and hope to one day own the entire second floor. Its a $65 / night sound proof studio, knocking noise down 80 percent. Has AC, but no hot tub, sound proofing
Costs more then a 2 man hot tub which I didn't know till this project. The apartment has Wifi, balcony, full washer dryer, flat screen, kitchen. Two people can rent both studios side by side. There is no need to sign in your guests or any other bullshit.
Then:
3 Bedroom house in Viscaya, price is by person. There are only two other houses up the hill. There is no issue with signing anyone in. This apartment has a remote control gate, we give you the control. This places is two minute cab ride down hill to Lleras. It has a huge Veranda balcony to hang on. This apartment is great but we working on making it better. Adding a 3rd bathroom and a bar and some new closets still and who knows what else since we plan on being here for a long time.

Posts: 231Switching up properties for less headaches for myself with less restrictions for you.
Hi we had to switch out 3 headache properties. We now have a new house in poblado that has only one neighbor near by so there will be no issues with girls, small get togethers, or normal played music no issues. It is right off avenida poblado. We now have the Laureles house with no neighbors, this new place with only 1 neighbor and since I own the building there is no issues. Plus our new concept the mini finca finishing up at end of the month. We are getting out of porter buildings, with elevators and neighbors that scowl at you. Its my opinion there is no surviving in these buildings for more then two years. Someone will upset them and they will use the new laws to get rid of you. We also have two studios side by side in Parque lleras the new one has sound proofed windows and the view is of the park over divino cielo.
Some photos of the new house.

Went back to look at a room today (Thursday). Rooms are not as nice as Concept but they rent by the night instead of just overnight (7pm until Noon) There won't be much to do here at night though. I imagine it would be very quiet, hopefully there will be a restaurant nearby to grab dinner.
Since the rooms were dimly lit, my cellphone pics did not come out very well. My issues would be internet not available except in the reception area. There is no chair or desk in the rooms. Shower is separate from the toilet & sink. 35K COP / night is still very tempting. Might be worth a try on my next trip.
They have a Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/hotel.kong

I hope this may help mongers looking for inexpensive lodging options.
1) KONG Hotel or Hotel KONG. Cra. 43 #55-41. 444-5691 hotelkong@hotmail.com
16K for 3 hours (short time pricing for couple) 35K Single Room per night (not sure if they would charge for bringing a girl in)
Very private, love motel styled entrance has one way glass or enter through garage. I was not able to see an actual room and website doesn't work. (hotelkong. Com. Co) No wifi in the rooms but available in the tiny reception area. One block walk from many casas including Coffee Shop.
2) Concept Hotel. Cra. 45 #56-28. 291-0764 they didn't a business card nor brochure!
I found this YouTube clip though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy1tL0rCKlo
I saw the room with the forest theme. Nice, modern design. Flat Screen TVs, stereo system, mini-bar. I was very impressed. It is right across the street from Belle Suite aka Andrea Cra. 45 #56-45.
The bad news is there is no internet access inside the building and they don't rent by the night. Pricing is for amanecida (?) overnight stay (from 7pm until 12noon the next day) A room with simple shower is 24K COP. Theme rooms with a tub is 30K COP and 38K COP if you want to use the Jacuzzi.

Posts: 249Hotel in Santa Fe de Antioquia
Anyone knows a cheap hotel there? I am interested in one right smack down in the center of town. I think there is a park there called Parque Plaza de Bolivar. I've been to Santa Fe a few times but stayed outside of town in the past. Thanks.
Cheers.
