Medellin Hotels and Rental Apartments

Here is Hotel in Laureles. I checked it out in October. I don't see it on World travelers list but he is sure to point it to me. LOL It is like 50 dollars a night with a guest. Website info contact on my pic. Near some discos and other Hotels on same street you could stay there first night then look at other cheaper options nearby.

Their website says a single is 125. 000cop and a double is 150. 000cop. Nice looking hotel though.

there is a casa called energy in laureles, you might consider staying in that area, near la setenta. you can take a bus or cab from there to el centro if you want to visit the numerous casas en el centro. laureles is generally safer and nicer.

yep and it's also nearby the el estadio metro station to take the train to el central too.

Hi,

I am coming to Medellin late April to early May. Is there not more info on good hotels? After searching for hours and hours all I have managed to find is info about Casa Medellin (or Medellion Mansion).

I am sure they offer a great service but at about $100 / night they are NOT cheap.

Fellow mongers. Are there no other decent options in Medellin which are:

* close to the mongering places.

* safe and secure.

* provide local info and all the other things we need to make a memorable trip.

Appreciate the assistance in advance and I hope I can share some reports with the forum upon my return

There is a casa called Energy in Laureles, you might consider staying in that area, near La Setenta. You can take a bus or cab from there to El Centro if you want to visit the numerous casas en El Centro. Laureles is generally safer and nicer.

Fair warning to those considering staying in the 23rd story apartment offered at.

While renting a single room in the apartment, and being the only guest occupying the apartment, I was robbed of my cell phone, passport, and every last dollar in cash. The door to my "private" room was locked, the door to the apartment was locked, and the items that were stolen were locked inside of a large suitcase inside of my locked so-called "private" room. The theives obviously had access to both the apartment and the room that I was renting as there was no forced entry and proceeded to break the lock on my suitcase in order to go through the belongings inside. By the way, the electronic safes that were offered for use in the apartment were not secured to anything. I. E. If you put your cash in the safe, someone could just pick up the locked safe and walk away with it!

Police investigators called to the scene concluded the obvious. That it was an inside job with the proprietor of the rental the primary suspect to be involved in this robbery. I was away from the apartment for about two hours when the items were stolen and as far as I know, the security guards at the entrance of the building were the only people aware that I was away from the apartment. Who knows, they may have been in on informing that I was away.

The same proprietor of this apartment rental (a German guy named Robert) also runs Girlfriind4aweek escorts, so I would also use extreme caution and reserve should you be considering using this service or anything else that this person is involved in.

I paid a HUGE price for letting my guard down and allowng myself to believe that I was in a fairly secure environment (I. E. Security guarded building in the best part of Medellin, my own keys to the apartment and "private" room I had rented) and allowing myself to believe that the proprietor I was dealing with had some reasonable amount of trustworthiness. Don't make the same mistake I did! Dealing with this operation cost me thousands in cash, not to mention, having to fly to Bogota (no US embassy in Medellin) to get an emergency replacement passport so that I could leave the country and basically ruined my trip to Medellin. BEWARE!

Sledge. Sorry to hear what happened to you. That sucks! But it might be a little unfair to blame the owner. Is it possible that the thieves had previously rented the apartment and had access to a copy of the keys, etc?

Royal Medellin, Intercontinental, Poblado Plaza. His apartments are amazing. Awesome service from his people that are there and he follows up on everything. I can't recommend his places enough. Barry's places are really awesome, in great locations and the cost is in line for the quality you receive. The guest will not feel they didn't receive value. Plus they are all newly redone, which is nice. Icing on the cake? Ruben and Laura.

Are the the units girl friendly? I'm thinking of Parque Lleras #1504, Oviedo Mall #1806 or El Tesoro #602. Need nicely decorated 1 bed with minimal chica hassles from security or administarors.

Would welcome any comments from those in the know. I will be staying at CB 1 mansion my first week to get my bearings. My Spanish is passable. Thanks All

My friend and I usually stay at a friends condo, but it was being rented out. So our friend arranged for us to stay at another place near San Diego. When we got there, it was a very small cramped apt, with cot style mattresses. And they wanted $90 a night for it. I fortunately had Ruben's (Property Manager) phone number and was able to call him from this original apt.

These two beds have cot style mattresses? Ok everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Thank god for Photo's. If it's a little small the bedroom it's 1) because your real space is this 500 Sqft deck. 2) Your location is a block from the middle of the Parque.
