Medellin Hotels and Rental Apartments

Ok perhaps. My main concern was that it is a legit operation. Its my first time so if I pay a bit more this time its not a big deal. When I come back and know my way around then I can be more frugal.

Based on my limited searching it did not appear that the cheaper ones had digital safes or 24 hr security. There is a difference between price and value. If something is 50% less but has no 24 hr security and no digital safe then I don't consider that a good deal.

Any feedback on people using this site and that it is a legit operation would be helpful.

I rented from them 2 times when I first started going to MDE, they run a LEGIT business. EVERY SINGLE apartment complex in MDE will have a security guard or portero AND if if they are renting it out to people 9 times out if ten they will have a digital safe. Once you get there, lok around and talk to the owners for better deals in the future.

P.S. Also when you rent from these people ask them if there are NOISE ISSUES, NOT from other neighbors but if YOU yourself are accustomed to making noise.

I just booked a room here. The guy Andrew Campion was easy to deal with. Any people have used his places before? Hope its legit. Was a very smooth experience so far. Won't arrive til Feb.

Overpriced Gringo apartments, With commissions paid out, better to rent "By Owner" With any luck, skill and effort you can find MUCH better deals in AND outside of Poblado. Laureles comes to mind.

This Hotel Florida seems to get positive reviews here. How do you contact them to get rates etc. Every internet hotel service i have tried cannot get rates for them?

Did the rooms have internet access in them? and a safe?

They have WiFi here and three terminals.

Standard room is 113,300 for 1, 121,300 for 2

Suites are from 131,300.

If you stay a week or more ore return often, they will work with you and give you much better rates.

The safes are in the office, open fom 6 to 6.

a friend of mine found this on craigslist and he stayed there for 6 days. i stopped by twice and hung here for a while. i will be checking in for a few days as well, but i would like to share what i took off of cl. i have since been up there to eat about 4 times at different restaurants.

"we have available a 2300 square foot penthouse apartment to share with americans and or other vacationing guys from around the globe.

we charge fifty dollars per night which will include maid service and daily breakfast. there are five bedrooms in total and each has it's own private bath. there will be internet and cable, and a phone to make free calls to the u.s. the price can be negotiable depending on the length of stay and how many there are in your party. under two weeks it is the daily rate; so one week is 350, and two weeks is 700.

here in laureles, you are able bring your dates back to the apartment with no problem whatsoever. the individual rooms offer good privacy, have locking doors,and have new mattresses.

laureles is a very laid back area where everything that you could possibly want is within walking distance including discotecas, a shopping mall, and over 100 restaurants.

what is included: daily maid service to make your bed and clean your room,
breakfast, a local phone, the international phone, high speed wireless internet, guide service, help with your necessities, etc, etc

also available is an english speaking driver to pick you up at the airport. "

Since my first night i plan to party with at least 2 or 3 girls, can anyone recommend a motel near the area? Would love to see one of those that have jacuzzi, disco lights adult channels and maybe a indoor pool. Someone mentioned to go to the La Estrella sector but I am being told that area is about 30 min from Lleras. Any options you can addvise?

There are a number of short-term love hotels that would meet your needs. The taxi drivers should know them. Punto Cero is one of the better ones. Hotel Eros in el Centro is nice as well.
