I go into tropical every time I go into hk. Its very busy on weekends. For instance Friday at midnight was crowded. Upstairs bar crowded too. I think they are expanding as well as I see construction. They also have vip card now 30 dollars for 3 months. So if your in town, just for a weekend and are budget conscious, it can be a good option. I wouldn't try walk a hk chic into tropical. Its just too complex time consuming she won't be thrilled probably will make you pay extra tips etc. But there's alot of girls in tropical. The rooms are basically like cascadas.

This bar sucks LOL. Stopped in Monday night because HK was too crowded with nowhere to sit. The 11 PM scene inside tropical looked like how HK looks at 8 AM LOL.

I had filed a report a few months ago about being drugged at the back bar in Adelitas. I think it was the good captain that commented back with a flip opinion about how rum and coke can do that to a guy. I always drink beer that is opened in front of me. Another point is I always have the bartender or mesaro hand me back the change which I then tip from. It establishes ground rules. Most all respect that. No longer do shots at tables as well. I want to see the bottle come off the shelf and invert. With drugs in Mexico you got to be Nancy Reagan and just say no. I feel sad and a bit disgusted with myself as I watch the dealer cranking out the stuff opposite the balcony at Azule. It a ballet of bad and I just can't turn away.

Doubt the police would really care. The doctor at the hospital didn't even seem to care that I was drugged.

Had my Tecate spiked last night in the tropical. It was early and only the second beer of the day, first one here. Anyway after drinking some portion of the bottle I started feeling very light headed then a few minutes later very dizzy. At this point I knew what had happened and so made a break for the door and taxi quickly back to my hotel before it got worse. These assholes ruined my night. The funny thing is I saw a several super drunk Koreans in there but didn't think anything about it until getting hit myself.

P.S. The hangover today sucks.

The same happened to me at the HK club. I left my cup of coke unattended and had the same symptoms as you. I ended up taking an Uber to the Guadalajara hospital 10 minutes from HK club and they hooked me up to an IV and injected some medicine to clean my stomach (total cost $200 USD). After that incident, I just drink straight from the can. I was light headed, dizzy, and vomiting at hotel Cascadas and pretty much spent 24 hours in bed.

Other night I gave hk bartender a 20. He puts it in his register and looks at me and nods like a thank you nod. I'm like uh, I need singles bro. Its hk. What the he'll would I give him a 20 for if I hadn't bought drinks from him. Then he wants a tip after giving me singles. No. Just no way bro. I usually make my waiter get the singles on my 1st beer to avoid this problem.

The same situation happened to me many years ago in HK sitting at MainStage and giving a mesero a $20 and he never came back. I just exchange as much as possible and get a drink with the bartender and then leave a $1 tip. No confusion, no fuss, and they sometimes use the money counting machine or have a stack set aside.

Have been going to Zona Norte on and off for around 10 years now. Had my first experience with a hustle attempt by an HK bartender just last month. I gave him a 500-peso note (around $25) for 1 beer and he gave me only a few dollars change. I looked at the change confused trying to process what just happened. He then pretended to also be confused and eventually gave me the correct change LOL. Have never had anything like that happen to me before down there, though I do usually pay in USA Dollars not pesos. I have been warned by Mexican-Americans who know I go down to Tijuana to try not to pay in pesos because it increases the chances they'll try to rip you off.

No I wasn't with any girl.

I had ordered a tacate and when it came it had a cap but the waiter made a show of removing it, like Chevy Chase in caddy shack. I remembered thinking that was strange but not enough to get my guard up. It's impossible to hear the cap release pressure with all that noise so I can see how easily they could put some shit in there. Incidentally I just felt like I had drunk 5 shots of liquor and assumed they put some kind of grain alcohol in there but who knows. I'm really glad my spidy senses made me bolt.
