Spent a lot of time in Rizo de Oro this week trying to find a girl who I wanted to take to the pool. On Saturday night the pool area was blocked off for some reason. I still hung around for a bit. Their 3rd floor (upstairs from the main speakeasy level) has been turned into a nice club-like area. They have a large stage with open seating around it. Very busy on Saturday.

Returned Sunday and sat with three different women and none would agree to go to the pool. I don't know if it wasn't worth the hassle or they thought it was nasty, but I was puzzled. It is $20 bucks or so in fichas, not to mention any tips the guy gives them directly, plus you'd think it would be a way to get the guy excited to go to the room. Maybe they are concerned about their hair and makeup. Or maybe they don't want to get naked in "public" -- some of the Tropical girls seem more shy and less professional than others. Whatever the reason, none would go with me. When a mesera told me that the bar had run out of vodka, that's when I decided to leave.

However Monday was the jackpot as I met Alejandra de Monterrey. She jumped at the chance to join me in the pool. I paid $80 for a bucket of beers, stripped down to my skivvies and jumped in. She joined me wearing nothing but a tanga. We splashed around for an hour, groping and flirting. After about an hour she offered to come back to my hotel room for the rest of the night. Sold! Tipped the mesero $10, dried off, and headed out to wait for Alejandra to join me outside. I hooked up with her again on Tuesday, but not for the pool this time.

I'm not sure if I'd do the pool again. Maybe if I found the right girl -- one who was flirty and attentive and looking to make some money. It was a bit of a hassle undressing in the pool area and I was worried about my wallet and phone. We were the only ones in the pool area so it was easy enough to keep an eye on them. It would have been nice if they had a more secure area to keep my stuff rather than just in a pile on a couch. Also I had to deal with carrying around a little bundle of damp underwear in my coat pocket. It would have been a real pain if I wasn't going back to the hotel immediately. I suppose most people who do the pool probably are staying in the hotel Rizo, but I was not. I've also heard you can take two girls to the pool for 5 beers each. Might be fun for a bit of competitive play between them, for your attention.

Is the Tropical bar running an upstairs bar like the other big bars while the downstairs bars are closed?

In my last trip, almost a year ago, Tropical became my main spot.

Yes. Was not impressed with the talent. But they have a pool. Probably the only heated pool in Tijuana. There was one girl swimming topless in it with some monger. (small frame small boobs, the only girl in the place that I found attractive) Soon all the clubs will have pools.

Woah, I apologize, I didn't realize using "2 for 1" would be such a trigger. But if a waiter brings me 2 beers and I pay the same as one beer in HK. I call that a 2 for 1. As in any sale, it's the illusion or "value added" that makes the customer feel special. Thanks for bursting my bubble.

Just mention that a bar chica once told you that she has to meet a quota for sales of high-priced "lady" ficha drinks.

Sometimes information changes over time, but it's not worth arguing over.

Why are there so many recent posts concerning "2 for 1" beers at TB and LC? TB never had 2 for 1. It was always 2 for 2. Same thing with Playboy, LC, and all the other bars that advertise "2 for 1." The only bar that truly had 2 for 1 beers was CC right after their remodel, when they offered 1 beer free which then turned into 2 for 1.

As I mentioned, TB was never my favorite. But 2 for 1 was the standard each time I went there.

You are sadly mistaken. Like I said before, you never got a 2-for-1 beer at Tropical. When 1 beer costs $2, and 2 beers cost $4, it is not 2-for-1. It is 2-for-2. Pre-covid, on the wall, just to the right of the main bar, there was a menu posted. It listed the prices of all the drinks. Domestic beers were listed as $2. I often ordered 1 beer for $2. Other times the meseros would insist I order 2 beers for $4, which is a scam. I would send the mesero away and find another, or order at the bar. Now the beers are $3 and the menu is not posted anymore.

I don't care whether it's 2 for 1 or 2 for 2 as Clammy wrote. Tropical is one of my favorite spots and all I know is I've paid 72 pesos for two Indios and given the bartenders 8 pesos as tip. The rest is just semantics because I'm happy, the bartenders are happy and bottom line I've received two beers for roughly the cost of one at the more popular bars in Zona.

A bro in San Diego reported 2 hottest ones declined to go to the hotels.

Looks like Tropical remodeled and brought in edecans to boost up business. No wonder they looked new, so fresh and pretty. HK did this for months after it remodeled.

Before buying lots of fichas to romance Tropical's girls, the bros should ask if they go arriba. If they don't, move on to other girls.

I remember the edecans in HK, a few eventually stayed and became working girls. I remember one that told me she does not go up, the next night she was more than willing!

But during the shutdown it was cleaned up and remodeled, new furniture, better sound equipment, sensuous lighting, new young girls in classy party dresses that makes it worthwhile spending time.

Tropical girls seem fresher than HK girls, worth checking out.

I agree, it was a good place to get started with the 2 for 1 beers. I very rarely spent any time with girls there. I like the way it sounds now with girls dressing a little classy. I'll have to check it out sometime next week.
