Stayed there recently, and it is not an easy to sneak in a girl late at night. A previous poster on the Beijing thread mentioned something similar. I guess the girl can register and be allowed in, but some Chinese girls are reluctant to have so many hotel registrations on "their record. " I called an outcall agency and she refused to send a girl to my hotel at midnight, saying it was too risky, and said she'the send a girl the next day but only during the day, not at night. So then I texted an independent that I've known for over a year, and she also refused once she knew where I was staying. I told her that I would change hotels the next day and asked for a hotel recommendation in Wangfujing area and she said Wangfujing hotels are strict. So, that night, I just ordered room service from the hotel spa and way overpaid for FS. The next day, before I checked out, I ordered from the outcall agency. And then I checked out. Went to a hotel in Haidian, which were my old stomping grounds, and boffed 3 independents the next day to make up for lost time.

I stayed there for 2 nights this past weekend. Dreamed that I spoke with the manager about this, after 10 pm girls must show ID and officially register as guests, and copies of their ID are transmitted to the Beijing police for them to keep on file. There is no extra charge for bringing the guest in. Security is tight, as this is a smaller hotel with only a narrow entrance to the elevators where security is stationed all night long and demands showing a hotel key for each person trying to access the elevators. Other than that, the rooms are very nice and the location is goodno more than 10 minutes by cab to Maggie's (50 RMB to go, 100 RMB to return (off the meter), and it's right next door to the "Golden Strip (that is a walking only, highest class shopping stretch where touts for WGs will approach you if you walk alone.

As well as touts and girls in Wangfujing the oriental plaza malls sometimes have girls doing business, especially during inclement weather. As always be careful of scams, offers of clubs, bars etc with girls, the English language students and art studios, pay in advance etc.

To my knowledge, Beijing Dongzhimen Holiday Inn, Swiss Hotel, Asia Hotel, all OK.

Also, smaller hotels with less stars are also OK. Like Jinjiang Inn or 7 days Inn, it is OK.

I am trying to decide between the Marriott City Wall, Marriott Courtyard Northeast, (I am platinum Marriott) and the Crowne Plaza Lido. I looked around and didn't see any recent information about issues of having friends "sleep over" at any of these so I "assume" that means that I wouldn't expect to have any issues. Having said that, I am a firm "trust, but verify" guy. I thought I would throw the question out there to see if anyone might have a comment or two about these hotels.

I'm all-Marriott too so I stayed at the Renaissance. Had delivery 3 times. Met in lobby and took upstairs. No problem at all.
