I doubt those are 3/4 star for those prices. Probably 1/2. I stayed at Eden Garden Hotel in a perfect location in back packer area between Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lau streets. It says it's a 3 star and it's pretty decent for $22 a night with a good breakfast buffet and clean with comfortable but semi-hard bed. Girls have to leave their ID at desk.

Also stayed at the Royal Hotel for $55 on Nguyen Hue which says it is 4 star but is girl friendly. Girls leave their ID at desk. Maybe not a typical 4 star but pretty decent if you wanted to stay in this area.

FYI. Also booked Catina (a 3 star) in this shopping area and it would not let my girl stay there past 10 pm even if she was registered unless I had a marriage cert. She was pissed!

I stayed at Giang Son 2, it was definitely GF. The room was a bit small, but clean and easy going staff, no problem.

But I don't see any names and places of 2/3 star hotels.

2/3 star hotels is what I am looking for because as I have read they are the only ones that are girl friendly and I can not see them wanting top dollar.

In a 3rd world country one should expect (or try) to pay 3rd world prices.

I know of a B&B hear in the UK that only charges 10 a night or 12.50 with breakfast; now this is probably the cheapest B&B in England.

But you get the jist don't you!

Most 2-3 star hotel in the Bui Vien, Pham Ngu Lao (back packers area) are GF, last time I was there, Sep 2015. IPeace, Eden Garden, Giang Son, Luan Vu are some names I remember.

Most 2-3 stars by Ben Thanh market are also GF, I stayed at Xavier, Mifurki, Saigon Bloom.

For all of the above mentioned hotels, the girl must show ID, but other than that, no problem.

Have a nice stay in VN.

But this is what I would do if it was me. Or maybe just book first night somewhere and then go on foot next day door to door in area you want to stay in, asking similar question. That's how I used to do it.

That what I would do if all ells failed.

But I was hoping to get some recommendations on hear anyway.

I can't stand things like tip advisor as I know I am just going to get ripped off.

But how much do you think I could pick a 2/3 hotel up over there.

Basically three three star and under places allow girls, 4 and above do not. So yes you could use agoda or something like that. But of course you want to make sure, and maybe then find the hotel's website, send an email letting them know you will meet a girlfriend in Vn and ask is it ok if she comes in your room. If they say No, ok you know not GF. If they say no problem, it's GF.

I don't use hotels here, I live here. But this is what I would do if it was me. Understand the post above is from last year, however I contacted the hotel directly and this it the response I received this morning:

I was in HCM this time last year and had no problems. Most five or four star hotels will not allow guests, however, most 2/3 star hotels will. When booking check the policy online. I stayed at a 2 star which was nice and clean and had no issues. Hope this helps.

I just confirmed this week that the Alagon Hotel and Hoang Hai Long Hotel are GF friendly. You will have to ask the manager for this as did I. It costs $10 to bring a girl to your room or they can offer you a room for $40. This hotel is also attached with two others, so essentially all four are connected, and all are guest friendly.

I just booked my trip to HCM for the beginning of may.

I checked and there seem to be very nice places with reasonable rates available via airbnb. Has anyone ever used it in HCM?

I think it may be more affordable and also easier for the girl to just stay overnight without hotel staff to monitor you. This is important for me a I'll be visiting 2 VN girls who I met in Singapore and Shanghai (they were working the bars) and it would be nice it they could stay the night with me.

What do you guys think?

Tried to book a studio and emailed the owner. With the law been what it is, he did not wanted to risk it and declined me. Read the house rules. Most are strict about privacy. Good luck.

Having read through this forum it sounded like things would be a bit hit and miss in Saigon. Stayed in the Hai Long 5 hotel in District 1 as it had some good reviews here. I suggest you get one of the large rooms as they are about twice the size of the windowless 'middle' rooms.

Searching WeChat showed up a few working girls, but I gave up on that after asking one for an original photo to prove her authenticity, and getting some repetitive replies from others.

Doorman offered to set something up, $US70,1 HR. Supposedly worth more than what seems to be the standard $50.

Pretty, about 25 years old.

Humorous or sad I can't say. Only word of English was 'morning' (at 10 pm), she received a few texts and even a phone call during our time. Couldn't have acted more bored.
