Based on your comments about walking back and forth to Nana and nearby Arab shops makes me think you were actually on 7/1. Soi 7/1 is directly off Sukhumvit while Cowboy does not intersect Sukhumvit. The walk from Cowboy to Nana Plaza is well over a km whereas 7/1 to Nana Plaza is about half that far.

Sir you are absolutely correct. Wood and Chrome Bars are on Soi 7/1 but on my way walking back from Doki Doki, I was crossing Soi Sukhumvit 21/ Asok Rd, turned to look around and then saw the Soi Cowboy sign. For some reason my mind associated Soi 7/1 as Cowboy, probably still getting a feel for the area since it's my first time here.

I am probably the grumpiest failure of a monger around. And my first week of Thailand (as a free man) is coming to a close. And I have much to complain.

So on Friday I was walking to Nana after coming from Chrome Bar around 9 PM and I was crossing Sukhumvit towards the plaza until I saw 2 Arab or most likely EE girls provocatively dresses walking back the way I came. Soi 55 so developed, last time I was there, I could walk blocks and not see a single Thai on the street. Fine, it's NOW, not THEN. Myself, wherever I am, that's reality (duh). Sure, sometimes, late at night, I might think, damn, if this was DXB, I'd have had a home-cooked Chinese meal, she would have cleaned my place, and there's enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. So, I fall asleep, wake up, and go have some great Thai food at a restaurant and some great Thai food at an MP.

Myself, when I'm in a bar, I will have a beer, just because I know it's pure, I can see the bottle being opened in front of me. But I might also have a coke even if there's a good chance it will be stale and flat because the bottle's been left open. Or orange juice (nam-som, long o), yea, maybe out of a bottle, not fresh. But you don't have to drink it, waste of money, so ... I'm NOT there for the drinks, but for the potential.

Finally, you might take a stroll down Soi 23, off of Sukhumvit; couple of blocks down, there's (or used to be) a number of MP's with girls sitting out front. If nothing, back to Sukhumvit, cross the street (that WILL get your heart racing even in a crosswalk, not all Thais will stop for pedestrians (Mr. Red Bull junior)), and walk up to Soi 26. Turn right onto 26, keeping to the righthand side as you walk away from Sukhumvit. Somewhere in that first block, see if the Jill-in-the-Box is working. Step in, see if anyone sparks interest. If not, 2 choices, back outside, continue down 26, first alley to your right, turn right, you will see Angels. That's soi 24-1. Walk along it, a number of MP's with girls sitting outside. Cherry, next to Angels, might not have girls outside, but you can step inside, talk to the Mamasan, express your type of interest, ask for a line-up. The other choice from inside the Jill-in-the-Box is to walk through the shop, see if anyone sitting inside the front door is interesting. Exit the front door (you've entered the back), see if anyone sitting outside is appealing. Now you are on soi 24-1, so take a stroll. Can't hurt, and, if nothing else, good exercise.

For the record, and Newbie's, Soi Cowboy runs between Soi 21, aka Soi Asoke, and Soi 23, PARALLEL to Sukhumvit. From Soi Asoke, it's on the far (increasing soi numbers) side of the Asoke BTS stop; crossing Asoke NOW made easy by the underground passage (escalator down) just after the exit from BTS. You should be on the left hand side of Sukhumvit when walking away from Nana (odd numbered side); that is, the Chase Bank side of the Sukhumvit / Asoke intersection. On Asoke, walk away from Chase Bank, past the Metro entrance, and the next alley to your right is Cowboy.

She wanted to stay all night but it being 2 am I really wanted to get some sleep. So let her leave and ordered a burger before attempting to sleep.

And I could see their faces. Now they are all running around with masks, these stupid masks! And even 10 years ago I had noticed these stupid hair cuts they started to use, like imported from China or Japan.
