Stadium, Today Country, Lintas Melawai, huge discos like Sidney 2000, numerous brothel areas, etc. Honestly the most amazing party scene I've ever witnessed. Lintas Melawai was awesome. So was Stadium, but I have mixed feelings about Stadium because it basically replaced Tanamur as the go-to night spot in Jakarta. I do wonder if they shut down those big brothels if the free lance scene would return to it's once great form.

When Malioboro first opened (early / mid 2000's), they had dancers in the spa on the ground floor as well as in the main room on the floor above that. The girls started dancing in the spa at 6 pm, and there were dancers in the main room at 7. They would rotate each hour with the spa dancers at 8 pm again and so on. So, when did Alexis Hotel and Malio Club first open their doors? and the age of live lineups begin in Jakarta. Those 2 bordellos must have been great back then. Malio is still very good, but under pressure from the authorities, they cut out the nudity in 2018. What a shame! That being said, Jakarta was much better 15 years ago than it is now even without the photos/lineups

As a newcomer to Jakarta, my 1st visit was in 2014, I always assumed things were wilder and much better in the good ol' days. I still remember the scene from Mel Gibson's "The Year of Living Dangerously" (1982) in which his antagonist fellow reporter goes out girl hunting and is surrounded by 100's of SW's the moment he exits his taxi. That scene is very reminiscent of what used to go on in Geylang, Singapore not too long ago. Even as late as 2015 I can still very fondly recall how large numbers of SW's used to congregate on the corner of Talma Rd and Lorang 12 across from the park. I used to stand in the middle of that intersection with scores and scores of Chinese girls to my left, Indo girls to my right, Viets in front of me and Thai girls behind me all vying for my attention and custom. Man are you spoiled! In Jakarta 15 years ago, guys did not even get the option to view the girl's photos in many places, you just had to pick a number from the board. The board would be on the first floor and the girls were upstairs. The girls never came down. Absolutely. If the girls are on the premises, and not busy, and it doesn't take much effort to do a lineup. If they're not willing to do that to get your business, they certainly won't be willing to do much for you once you're already committed, especially if you already paid them.

I guess a picture might make sense if they're bringing girls in or you want to wait while she finishes off another customer, but in Thailand such situations are rare.
