Day 0, landed late, boarding flight to BKK from ICN a pain but screening at BKK a breeze. Picked up SIM after luggage pick up and before customs. I prefer hotels and the main reason is security. When I check in a girl I always give a substantial tip, maybe 200 baht, that's the person I want to be thinking of me for the next couple of hours. Security also keeps the undesirables away.

A decent hotel will quickly fix any problem you may encounter. Cleanliness. Broken stuff. Missing stuff. More towels, girl toothbrushes, soap.

As others have pointed out, food is easily available, unless you have special dietary needs. Laundries are scattered everywhere, Google maps helps find some. They might be located in lowest levels of big buildings or right out on the streets. The price of laundry is so cheap that you will never want to do your laundry again. Nicely ironed and folded. There are many surveys to be found on the internet, with different outcomes, but Thailand is often listed.
