Until very recently, I think we could presume the maximum desired age a Thai girl stated on her profile, if any, was that of her father. Which meant it wasn't as though she had really given it much thought and it was not necessarily based on her feeling repulsed by men her father's age or older. But very recently I have been seeing more and more Thai ladies over the age of 35 boldly stating they are only looking for men up to age 40-45! And I'm not talking about stunning 35+ year old women. Far from it. Just ordinary, fairly dumpy, creases in their face Thai women heading into middle age.

Really? Are there really that many men under the age of 45 cruising the dating sites looking for Thai women so far past their historically assessed Sell By date? Are they gigolos? Charming scammers? Or is this a sign of the improved Thai economy that older Thai ladies can be so picky? Or is this the age preference for many men of that age group, so much so that these women are actually getting tons of response from them? Interesting new phenomenon.

Lately I have been getting inundated with "interested in you" messages and emails from older, undoable women every time I log in. Has this been happening to anyone else? On my profile page I flatly state I am interested in only girls from 18 to 28. So what gives? And is there a way to sign in incognito so I can avoid these scores of unsolicited messages from desperate women?

That has not been happening to me more than usual on TF. But it has been happening to me almost all the time on ThaiCupid. I have maintained a premium account on each for 2-3 years but am thinking of dropping TC because of it. I keep having to check the settings to see if my desired age range was inadvertantly reset to From 48-to-Infinity during a site update or something.

However, the issue of being inundated by Interested and chatty ladies ranging from very doable to impossible but from areas way beyond my supposedly filtered distance range is greater lately on both sites.

I never show my photo (in the past I used fake photos, but I read that one could actually be guilty of a crime for doing this, so I stopped).

I always start my conversation with a girl on TF by sending my photo. Even before I ask them about themselves. Then I immediately say Hello, and move on from there. Occasionally, a girl will ask me why I don't have my photo on the site. I respond that my work place does not permit the use of social media, like Facebook. This might sound like a non-sequitur to some, but almost every girl is satisfied with this explanation.

All good points Christian. Currently I am not in LOS, so there is no point in my having a Premium membership. But, a few days before I am due to return I will definitely pay up for one.
