I had decided to stay at the Nana Hotel for my first 6 nights back, based upon so many people on here saying how great it was. It IS a great location, though my beloved Majestic Suites is probably almost as near from front door to entrance. The pool is nice, something Majestic Suites DOESN'T have. The breakfast is decent. But other than that it's pretty much a shit hole. The bed is hard as a rock, the rooms are old. So old that the electricity isn't always working in these outlets. The hall smells like. In most hotels you are always able to check in if they have a room available. And it's not high season now so most likely your hotel is not full.

Some hotels make it a point not to check-in guests before 12 noon. Why? Because their policy is most likely a 2 pm check-in and 12 noon check-out.

If you know you are arriving early, you can always arrange for the hotel to prepare your room for an Early check-in and most would charge you anywhere between 500-1000 thb.

Some hotels would even give it to you for free if you stay long (3+ nights) or in one of their upgraded rooms.

All it takes sometimes is to ask.

A thing to try: check the price on websites like Agoda and Booking.com, then send this to the hotel and ask them if they would give you free early check-in if you make the booking direct to the hotel. These days, hotels pay between 15 20% commission to these third party websites so the hotel would be saving a lot of money too. Everyone happy. Best is to talk to a manager for this, most regular staff are oblivious to these.
