I appreciate the warnings here about the Airbnbs and the risks mentioned may be valid. However, I have probably rented a dozen or so, several for a month long stay almost all in the heart of the Nana / Soi Cowboy neighborhood and my experiences have all been positive. I am always flying in from West Coast of USA and the cheapest flights have always landed me there at midnight so I get a first night stay at a hotel near the airport with a free shuttle service. Maybe that is why I have not had difficulty at customs with a stay inquiry, don't know, but never been a problem before. I am looking at Airbnbs from Nov-Dec-Jan and everything is way discounted by over half of what I have paid for in the past, very nice looking modern studios /1 bd apartments in high-rises with pool and gym going from $600-$1500/ month. That's amazing. With that said, hotel stays are also quite a deal right now.

Posts: 6298Agree the taxi meter point is one that we often forget to tell newbies. If the taxi driver refuses to turn on the meter just tell him to stop the car and let you out. Try doing this before he drives too far to avoid a problem. If you have luggage make sure he is going to use the meter BEFORE you put your luggage in. Some times you need to stop 3 or 4 taxis before one agrees to use the meter. I often tip BKK taxi drivers over 100% if I hop in and he turns on the meter right away no questions asked. I let him know the reason I'm tipping is he used a meter. On the contrary I have never tipped a single Pattaya taxi driver and their rip off prices.

Posts: 4Wow, so many responses to my novice question. Many good tips I appreciate it so much!
Let me clarify some things after reading all the comments. First, as one of you folks noticed I intend to stay in the same place for few weeks, so yes, my plan is to start talking to girls only when I'm already there (or maybe few days before, but I'll tell them I'm already there). Also, yeah I intend to pay for girls (at least that's my intention LOL unless something magical will happen. I've heard stories of girls that didn't ask for money after a good night bang.). I appreciate the tip to always keep my precious stuff in a safe and register the girl at the reception, I will remember that.
Regarding accommodation, so I'm really after an apartment but that can also be an apartments hotel (that is it doesn't have to be a private house. Just a big hotel room with everything I need for a long stay and for remote work). Surely I would prefer a good hotel with security and reception and other facilities over an Airbnb apartment, but I'm wondering what's the best way to find the hotel I'm looking for? A 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and nice amenities would be ideal. Any recommendations? Should I check in Booking or Agora or Hotels.com?
Lastly, just to clarify, I do intend to check out everything the city has to offer, anything from sex tourism to regular tourist attractions, just wanted to keep my question focused on the things that are not entirely clear to me. I hope that indeed by the time I'll arrive (probably early December) many things will be open.
So I guess I'm still not sure what would be the best platform to look for (apartment) hotels.
Thank you so much!

The other suggestion I have is that many places do not have free public toilets. Be sure to always have a few Thai coins for that.

Keep your valuables locked up.
Don't limit yourself to TF, etc. Check out oily massage, BJ bars, beer bars, FL hangout bars.
Be brave and eat the noodles from the street vendor.
Be polite to everyone, including the ladyboys in front of the luggage shop on Sukhumvit. (They're actually hilarious.).
Don't believe anything a tuktuk driver tells you.
Get out and see the sights -- not just the entertainment district.
Insist on the taxi meter.
Use the BTS and MTR.
Pace yourself. Don't drink too much alcohol. Try an iced coffee.

Unless things have changed AirBNB is illegal in Thailand. They are definitely available but not sure how the Immigration Officer will react when you show him your hotel confirmation is an AirBNB. Anyone done this before? Given that you are leaning towards FL girls, I'm sure you can find cheap hotel accommodations near Nana BTS for cheap. BKK hotels are a fraction of the cost now compared to a normal high season.
You can try reading the Pattaya Hotels and Bangkok hotels threads in this forum.

Yes, there are plenty of furnished apartments you can rent but security is not well enforced. There are plenty of hotels in all price ranges. There are long term hotels also. Most are girl friendly. Ask before renting.
Usual precautions are do not get drunk, be aware of your surroundings and do not carry valuables and carry only local currency for your needs in your pocket. Rest should be locked up in safe in your room.
There are plenty of tourist things to take in. If you find a girl to do those things with it would be a great vacation.

You can start a week before arrival, saying you are in Bangkok already, they will see you as a tangible prospect. (imagine how many men contact these girls from overseas? And what % of these guys are truthful? There are a lot of scammers out there).
Second, Accommodation, I always prefer hotels, because in case of an issue the hotel will help you 100%. If you rent an apartment from AirBnB, you will have a great time until you run into drama with a girl and there the building security (if he's not sleeping) or the Juristic won't be flying to your help but contact the real unit owner.
If you're having Freelancers that you pay for (my guess is that's what you want), always check them in at the reception, for your own safety!! That prevents the girl from putting a roofie in your beverage and cleaning you dry. By the time you wake up, she'll be long gone. Having her check her ID at reception will ensure that when she goes back to collect it, the hotel will call your room to check that you are ok and safe.

You might recall that was exactly the passage from his first report you posted that I both agreed with (overall generally and regarding Beer Garden at the time) and I questioned what he meant by "a few make shift bars with music and people behind curtains on that same Soi, just to the left as you make your way in", in my reply to it. The empty cubicles "just to the left" on Soi 7 "as you make your way in" have permanent mesh curtains blocking the entire entrance and there are no "people inside" because the curtains are there to prevent exactly that from happening. Then, once you walk into the passage that is open (no curtain) none of those bars have "curtains with people behind them." So it appeared from his description that he did not walk into the area with those dozen or more beer bars and often packed with girls. I asked for more clarification about that for a reason I mention below.
He also never mentioned anything about Hillary 2 on Soi Nana/Soi 4 being open at the time of his first report, one of the largest beer bars on that soi offering food, drink, pool, girls.
Other expats and I chatted by PM about that report and could not decide if he was omitting any mention of those things and more accurate info on the Soi 7 bars down that small alley because he did not want to subject them to a possible raid or because he never actually found them. See, many of us expats living here had not mentioned or posted reports on them and I did not mention them more fully in my reply because we did not want to subject them to a possible raid, which was a risk at the time.
However, since all those bars have been rocking, packed with tons of girls and were legally permitted to be open since at least November 1, three days before your friend's recent survey of the area where he only mentioned going "towards" Soi 7 but never mentioned walking "down" Soi 7 to actually enter those bars and that he was afraid to walk down to look at Soi Nana/Soi 4 where he would have seen several bars open and hosting a lot of girls, it seemed pretty obvious it was because he had missed them.
Of course, nobody can account for what kind of girls show up in bars or what the scene is like at every hour of every night. That is true even during the best of normal times. But I assure you any good looking girl your friend saw anywhere in public in the lower Sukhumvit area over the past 40 days has passed through and planted herself in those bar areas I mentioned above on a regular basis. Maybe the fleeting few seconds he looked at those places from a distance before he walked away in disgust the only girls around were "yuck" and the scene sucked.
All I can say is any night I have gone to those places over the past several weeks a big percentage of the customers crowded in there are young, fit, fairly good looking athletic guys who don't appear to me the types who have much trouble getting well laid by attractive girls in their own country for free. They might never have even bothered looking for info on a sight like this one much less reported on it. Yet, they are THERE in those bars partying with girls I would say are at least on par with the photos you posted and walking out with them looking quite happy about it.
No hot girls there? Yes, I suppose that is a matter of opinion. Only Ladydrink hustlers? Yes, there are some girls who are only there to hustle drinks and not barfine. Ask the girl if she goes with customers before you buy a drink. Maybe the best looking among them are only drink hustlers. Again, that can be true in many bars even during the best of normal times.
However, I had to fight my way through plenty of MORE than doable girls at those Soi 7 bars last night to get to an adorable little spinner Rainbow 2 girl I took once from that Nana Plaza go-go bar just pre-Covid who at that time would not budge from 3,000 plus barfine for Short Time. Last night I paid 500 barfine and she enthusiastically agreed to 2,000 for Long Time from about 9:30pm until 10am this morning, DFK, BBBJ, beautiful hairless pussy, no baby, lovely natural tits, BBFS+CIP no problem for me and agreed to upfront before barfine, great Real GFE and attitude. And there was no weird surprise when she showed up at my room as an escort or outcall because she was right there live and in-person where I took her.
Is that what your friend is getting with his 1,500 baht outcall girls? If so, good for him. As a 68 year old I guess ok-looking farang I was rather pleased with what I paid and got for my money all night last night and this morning.
IMHO, anyone who took your friend's first report and especially his most recent one to heart and followed suit missed out on a ton of damn good pussy options at half the usual going rate or less all in.
Sure, as always, YMMV.

Hello friends!
I'm planning my first mongering trip to Thailand in the next few weeks and I'll be mostly interested in freelancers. My plan is to use Tinder & Thai Friendly to find girls, and I'll be looking mostly for girls who are interested in overnight stays (I guess that's what's called LT, right?
This is my first trip to Thailand so I'm a bit confused, or should I say overwhelmed, with how everything works, so I thought I should ask for some tips from you guys. Right now I'm focused on understanding the accommodations market. I'm interested in a small apartment that will be good enough for few weeks stay. It should allow bringing girls in of course, and it should have all the standard facilities plus some fancy / luxury ones if possible (a jacuzzi would be cool). My question is where should I be looking to find accommodations? In all of my recent trips to Europe I've been using Booking and sometimes AirBnb, are these apps popular in Thailand as well? Any advantage for one over the other? What about hotels, is it allowed to bring girls into hotels? (though tbh I would prefer an apartment). Well, any advice would be truly appreciated! My plan is to stay for about 2-3 weeks in Bangkok and another 2-3 in Pattaya, so while I know this is the Bangkok thread, advice will be appreciated for Pattaya as well.
Also, any other tips for a first mongering trip would be welcomed and appreciated.

We expect to find a true bi-sexual girl. Not a girl who does everything for money without liking girls. We like very sexy underwear and GFE with a lot of erotism. Feeling is important to us.
To be honest, we are not really experienced in the domain because we only did a threesome twice. First time in Saigon and the second time in London (incredible. The girl known what she was doing. A real pro). Both girls were more luxury escort type because we paid a lot ($200 at Saigon and 350 GBP for 1.5 hour at our hotel each time). I had decided to paid more thinking to have a better result. Maybe it's not a guarantee. For that 2 experiences I don't regret it, it was great but I hope we will find better offers in Thailand.
