As I make my daily and nightly rounds through the lower Sukhimvit red light districts I notice even on the busiest nights of the week, Friday and Saturday, a couple of the go-go bars in Nana Plaza and on Soi Cowboy are packed with customers while most others are practically empty. I'm talking about nights when it isn't raining, the weather could not be better, plenty of girls on the stages or sitting around, most often no remarkably greater percentage of lookers and doables in one or another bar.

Yet, the streets are jammed with traffic, restaurants are packed with customers, the malls are packed with customers, all as crowded as much if not more crowded as the highest high season I have experienced in my ten years of living here.

Why aren't the go-go bars in the two biggest areas, Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy more packed with paying customers, especially since the third one, Patpong, has barely reopened yet?

On a possibly related note; Friday night, lovely weather, I had a last minute "oops, my period just started" cancellation excuse from a long term favorite freelancer. So around 10 pm I ventured into Nana Plaza to check out the market. I bought LDs for above average looking but not top tier girls in two different bars that were not particularly crowded at all, Random 1 and Geisha Bar. The cuddling and kissy chemistry in the booth was fine, very promising.
