It has been pointed out to me on another forum that I miss-interpreted this document. The CLASS 4 classification was for the VALIUM (Diazipan) and not the VIAGRA.
We have been unable to find an up-dated list online that classifies VIAGRA.

To the best of my knowledge, this whole thing was over the classe 4 valium/diazepam.....which is classified as a "true" prescription drug in Thailand. What I mean is that you can walk into any pharmacy and buy viagra, antibiotics, steroids, etc.......but valium is considered a drug that requires script from a doctor...and is usually given to you by the prescribing doctor in a little plastic pouch with his information (and/or clinic info.) on the pouch....in addition to the hospital info. if it was prescribed and dispensed at a hospital. Because of this, the scum in brown consider their knowledge of this a great shakedown vehicle. The fact that they would start playing with a 60's guy who was just walking on the street with a younger woman (but not that young)....just goes to show the scum that they are. Had you had hundreds of them, neatly packaged for distribution...and was caught selling on the street, this would be another story. I have a feeling that had they brought you to their station, that the entire incident would have been swept away and you would have been released......because even in Thailand, the amount you had is a joke......and bringing before a judge might make them look very stupid.....especially in your circumstance. Still, you did the best you could.....one only hopes they use your money to buy wiskey....that rots their liver...and they die very soon (sorry....that's how I honestly feel).

Thai-Chinese are snooty as ever. Majority of the Isaan population around Bangkok still toiling for the rich Thai elite. Dentist asked me did I play basketball. I am 5ft-9. WTF? Thais stared but not much as previous visits. A lot of them gave me kudos on my hip hop attire. They could not tell my Filipina girlfriend was not Thai. My only question I wondered what type of Thai did they think she was a typical Isaaner or Hi-SO due to her white skin and flowing jet black hair. That amazes for a group of xenophobic people as them they can’t tell their people from other Asian foreigners. I mean black Americans can tell Africans from us and vice versa.

Filippinas with spanish blood usually look nothing like Thai, but those with no spanish blood (or very little) from certain Islands apparently can look Thai and visa versa. Some Filippinos things Thais are from Philippeans.

I think some countries and even some people from my own country get so used to body odour that they just don't even notice it. Thais certainly do notice it but are often too polite to say anything. Luckily, when I stink, I know it and take action. But Thais are very lucky. Can be hot and sweaty from stenuous work and still no odour.

If a taxi tells you the fare is up to you then they figure you don’t know any better and will overpay. Most trips around Bangkok our 100 Baht. Do not take rides offered to you in the airport as usual its typical (Thai) bullshit.

luckily such a thing never happened in livingstone's lodge up to now. but if it happened, and if the circumstances were as described, we would certainly ask the customer to leave next day.

we already experienced situations in which we had to help our girls to get out of customer rooms of other hotels when things went wrong somehow. but in all cases alcohol played a major role.

Yesterday, I took a bus from Pattaya to Bangkok's Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai). I was accompanied by a young woman in her 30's, I am 62.
As we were walking away from the bus, I was approached by a uniformed police officer who asked where I was going. I replied; he then began asking me many more questions: how long in Thailand, how many times here, who is the girl, how old is she, ect., ect. He then demanded my passport and after checking my visa, told me to open my bag. He searched the bag thoroughly and found one generic KAMAGRA tablet (VIAGRA copy) and a blister pack containing one VALIUM tablet from the USA. The KAMAGRA was what he was clearly looking for.
He called a more senior cop over and they proceeded to grill me about where and when the Kamagra had been purchased. They then brought out a pair of handcuffs and said I was being arrested and was to be taken to a local police station where I would be charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs. They also made the point that if found "guilty", my passport would be red stamped, thereby making any further visa renewal unlikely.
This is the point where they also made clear that negotiations would now commence for settling the issue "On the spot": they started at B30,000!

I will say that at this point, I felt on pretty shaky ground. Several of the police were high ranking. Technically, they had me; I had no prescription and the KAMAGRA was from Cambodia. Even though the amount was small, I knew that if the issue was pressed, things could be made very difficult for me; especially true in that I reside here on a long string of tourist visas.
At the same time, I wasn't about to hand over B30K!
They negotiated through the girl I was with and long story short, ended up settling on B10,000 which I withdrew from a nearby ATM.
I gave him the money and got a friendly pat on the shoulder and my passport back.
There are those of you who will say I should have hung tough and refused to pay; but standing there, facing the real possibility of a much more expensive outcome at the police station, especially if I had to lawyer up, not to mention the possible future visa difficulties led me to decide that cutting my losses and settling it then was my best option: arguable, but expedient

Let this be a warning to all: be very careful what you carry in your bags and on your person when you travel in Thailand. Just because you can buy something over the counter in a pharmacy doesn't mean it's legal and the cops look for any excuse to squeeze you.

Ironically, I usually get off the bus at On Nut which would have saved me from this incident, this time I wanted to go to the BIG C on Ekkamai so stayed on the bus: wrong place, wrong time.

I have posted this experience on several other forums. I hope the moderator will also cross post this to the Pattaya forum as this warning will be useful to the many expats who travel there.
I think I fit A "profile" the police were looking for: older man traveling with a younger woman...much more likely to have a supply of "V" on hand.
Many respondents to my post on the other forums have reported similar problems at Ekkamai so be especially careful going in or out of there.

On my trips to BKK, sometimes they checked my luggage at the airport. Twice they found Viagra (bought in Mumbai). However, the only thing they did when they found it, was to laugh and make fun of it. They just put it back in my luggage and let me go. This happened in 2006 and 2007.

But when you tell me this story, then it appears to me that things have changed.
