Agree. Was really a place that you had to see, earned its name of "Star Wars" bar. Still wasn't bad after it moved to the under-stairs location, but that started its decline. I liked the original, 2 room design. Like Annie's (RIP), another BKK casualty.

Re. Thermae. Am I the only person here who will not shy away from a Thermae (or any P4P} girl just because she doesn't look at me or smile at me? From my experience even if they look bitchy while you cruise around with all the other guys they start smiling once you start talking to them.

So when the shit hit the fan, guess what happens next in the Rube Goldberg machine that is the stock market? Companies have lost sight of long term health (you know, even a stool needs three legs to be stable) and stability, which is borne out by all the short term microsecond computer trading, which has exacerbated the market volatility.

You want a real eye opener? The current economy, at least in the US, is driven by the consumers. Now look at the wealth / income distribution. It won't be too long before the majority of the population is unable to afford the basic necessities. Ford had the right idea with his new automobile. He paid his workers many times the going labor rate so that they could all afford to buy the product they were making for him.

Sunday, mid-afternoon, headed out to MBK for some shopping. As now expected, crowds down, not as much as at Chatuchak, but still, very easy to move around, NOT ram-jam full. Finished there, and spur of the moment, since BTS Silom line right outside, decided to hop on over to Patpong and SOL. Hadn't been to SOL yet, and it was about time.

I haven't read anything about Bat Flu and heat. Hope you're right. The western media is killing my stocks with their fear mongering but I feel the number of cases is grossly under reported. I doubt Thailand has many testing kits outside of Bangkok. Even California is woefully short of testing kits. Also some sick people aren't getting medical help due to fear of being isolated by friends and family.

Watching Bangkok news last night. 35 year old in Bangkok is the first Thailand death due to the coronavirus. My Thai isn't good enough to know if he had any pre existing conditions.

I read that it is not heat that will kill the virus. It has something to do with the immune system being more efficient when body temperature is higher.

Most virus thrive in cold weather. This is not to say cold virus does not infect people in hot countries. There are several factors why we get flu vaccine in the fall to protect us in winter. Hot weather makes us feel good and immunity is higher. Phlegm does not stay in your lungs in hot weather. They liquify and comes out not doing any damage to lungs.

But this corona virus is hard to figure out. Causes lots of damage to older people with underlying conditions. Hardly ever does serious damage to kids.
