Surprisingly, you only need to tip a small amount. If she knows that you'll tip her every time that she helps you. I would tip 100 baht. Remember the girls she sets you up with are also probably having to tip her.

I've lived in Bangkok for 4 years now, so I no longer need to use this strategy, in fact I normally want the mamasan to stay far away from my negotiations with the girls. I can communicate directly with the girl. However, when I was only an infrequent visitor I used this strategy many times.

At 4 am, your best bet is to sleep. Bars in Nana Plaza are open until 2 am. After that, there's still freelancers and tourists milling along Sukhumvit as well as Soi 4, but the streetwalker scene is dwindling, and not exactly fantastic to begin with. Bit of a freak show, maybe fun to walk around, but don't expect to find a beauty queen among that bunch. Plenty of street people and ladyboys.

At 1 am, it's better, but still the tail end of sorts. I guess I'd head to soi 4 and pick a streetwalker or someone from the bars.

The "original" Rin, can still be found on soi 22,3rd soi in the left after the marriott hotel. She is well in the 50's. Still does great ball massage. And probably good idea to close your eyes. I was there "recently", I like to pass by a couple times per year to make sure some "cultural gems" remain alive.

Do yourself a favor, if you're even mentioning A+ fetish you 100% want a PSE girl from Tulip. Thats the service you're looking for, regardless of the girls looks (although again many at Tulip are totally fine looking! You can get A+ from many girls, but the Tulip ones are on a different level and that's the whole point of it and its very much worth it if that's your thing.

Friday Night 29th July: Patpong.


I actually went to Kings Castle 1 on 4 separate nights in July. The first night there I saw a super hottie however as I was eyeing her up a Japanese guy grabbed her and another girl. She ended up sitting at the next table to me, so I did get a decent look at her and of course she noticed my glances. When I go out I always have 20,000 folded up in my pocket in case a once a year opportunity is presented that I don't want to miss. I rarely use this stash but as I was leaving I made sure I pulled it out to pay the bill and made sure she saw it, which she certainly did. In these places if you want the hottest of the hottest girls you really do need to get their attention as they pick you and not vice versa. I went back the following week and saw her as I was walking in, she recognized me and looked straight at me, however a Japanese dude in a very nice suit saddled up next to her and grabbed her before I could get there. I went back twice more but never saw her again. I assume she is gone.

Kings castle 1 has had the best looking talent in Thailand for the past 4-5 years imo, as long as you're not looking for big fake boobs. I loved starting out nights there, and like you maybe getting a Line or 2 before I went to Butterflies at nana to barfine.

I concur. The experience I had at Familia Nobre was similar to yours. I chose a Vietnamese beauty, amongst several different nationalities choices, and she rocked my world. Maybe there is some venue like that in Bangkok but am unaware of it.

Thursday Night 4th August: Soi Cowboy.

I started off at 9 pm at Crazy House. It is busy now to almost fill 1 level on most nights. I have not seen both levels operate since precovid. The place does have some nice ladies but whenever I have spoken to the hottest girls they have been just drinks girls. The last time I went there I called one over and she wanted a Tequila and Coke and also wanted me to buy the waitress the same. If I wanted to stay there longer I would have diffused the BS and had the lady order just 1 drink and then told the waitress no to hers. As I wanted to check out a few places I just got up, put 200 baht on the table for my beer and left without saying another word. Tequlia and coke is 2 drinks = 350 and the waitress wanted one too Total 700 FFS.

Next stop was Bacarra. On a Thursday night it was quite busy with 2 floors open. They have done away with the compulsory buy a drink on entry BS. So you just enter and find a seat on whichever level you want which again is a bonus as pre covid farangs like me got directed to the second level only while our Japanese / Asian friends got the prime first level. While there is probably 60 girls, there seems to lack the stunners that were there precovid. Still it is worth checking out.

Next stop was Tilac. It has been mentioned on the board several times of late so I felt a duty to check it out. Crazy House and Bacarra were the first 2 to reopen on Cowbow after covid so are ahead of the game. Tilac has just reopened over the last few months and although it does have 50 girls there again talent not great and it is not that busy. I guess it will get better in next couple of months. I do like the option here of being able to sit outside and watch the freak show that is cowboy go by. The inside area is your standard gogo.

Summary. Virtually all bars are open now in Cowboy. Although it gets going earlier than Nana at 7 pm it is best to hit it at 8 pm or a bit after. The most popular gogos mentioned above plus Suzy Wongs and the Doll House are worth checking out. The rest of the gogos on cowboy need to be treated with caution or avoided all together as they are owned by the "Arab" and they focus on lady / scam drinks only. So you will be in for a bill of 1000 and up with no action.

Friday Night 29th July: Patpong.

Patpong does not get much of a mention on this board despite being a very large red light district. The whole area is dominated by Japanese / Asian clubs with Soi Thaniya, which runs from Silom Road to Surawong Road, is entirely Asian only and I don't know of any Farangs that go there or even allowed to enter the clubs.

Anyway, if you leave the Sala Daeng BTS Station and head down half a dozen sois towards Silom you come across a little area where there are maybe 10 gogos within 500 meters of each other spread over 2 sois where westerners (Farangs) are welcome. The outstanding club here is Kings Castle 1. The talent is equal to and sometimes better than the top Nana clubs, however it is very much Asian dominated and has a different vibe. Most Asian dudes go there for drinks only and a bit of a grope. You don't often see them bar fine girls but in my experience all of the girls there are bar fineable. In fact 3 out of my 10 or so long time favourites have come from there.

My tactic during covid has been to grab any outstanding hottie and get her entered into Line. They tend to not last long in gogos, but resurface from time to time by hitting your Line up. I guess that is why you always see the hottest girls out and about but they never seem to be available. They hottest girls can get by on their socials, regular customers or sponsors etc. The hottest of the hottest tend to pick you as a customer these days.

When in Patpong it is worth checking out Kings Castle 1, Kings Castle 3 (on same road further up). Then head to next soi over to see XXX-Lounge above the Patpong sex museum. I would consider these places as Tier 1. Tier 2 gogos which are also on same street as XXX lounge are worth sticking you head in and looking around before buying a beer are: Bada Bing, The Strip and the 1 bar in between these places whose name I forget. If you don't like the talent have a good look around and then just walk out without buying a beer and move on. All these gogos are within 500 meters. Pink Panther, which is at the other end of same street as Bada Bing and the Strip is also worth checking out. However you will have to walk through the Gay section of the soi as shirt free muscled up little Thai dudes gyrate on poles while looking at you to try and get you into the gay gogos 555. Just pretend to look at your phone while walking through the street. In fact I find this a good tactic if you come across a bunch of aggressive lady boys, just get phone out and look at it while passing and they will generally not grab you and generally not annoy you with "hellooooooo" in a "deep brown voice" (Lola reference).

Friday Night 5th August: Nana.

Nana is the number 1 game in Bangkok when it comes to Gogos. It is almost back to normal now with all gogos open. Bikinis are also standard now that they no longer have to operate as restaurant's due to covid restrictions. I believe all final covid restrictions were lifted on July 1st. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday night the biggest and best gogos are pumping and it can even be difficult to get a seat during peak 10 pm to mid night times. On off nights it is still slow with few customers and only half the girls.

Although some Nana gogos tend to open at 8 pm, it is best to get there at 9 pm or even 9. 30 pm as girls are still arriving. By 9. 30 pm places start to fill up with customers.

Current best Tier 1 Gogos are.

The big 4:

Bill Board and Butterfly, double sized gogos on the top floor (3rd floor), same owners.

Rainbow 4 and 5, double sized gogos on second floor, same owners. Mostly Asian customers.

Other Tier 1 gogos.

Spankys, on 2nd floor, I love this small place. It is always full even on quiet nights during peak times.

Twisters, on first floor. It is another double sized gogo that I never much visited pre covid. It is my current favourite.

Geisha, on 3rd floor next to butterfly. It is a big double gogo with plenty of girls. The waitresses are overly aggressive and interfering.

Tier 2. Random gogos, Angelwitch, Rainbow 69 and the other rainbow bar (not 4 or 5). Feel free to stick your head and check out all the little ones not mentioned here as they are run efficiently and the bills are clear unlike the Arab bars on Soi Cowboy.

Please note: I consider first floor being the ground floor. Second, next floor up etc. Different countries refer to this differently.

In summary the gogos are getting back to almost normal. There are still issues in getting good staff, that is with dancers and waitresses, but this is getting less and less. The issue with waitresses, is that they are told to be aggressive but there is a fine line between aggressive and wrecking the whole experience. At Billboard, Butterfly, Rainbow 4 and 5 waitresses are fine and you can even have fun with them and I always leave them a tip. At Geisha, Twister (both at Nana) and Crazy House (Soi Cowboy) you have to fend off the begging requests / general interference / scammy behaviour by old unattractive waitresses to where it becomes a chore and kills the vibe.

I also have found that most customers at the moment tend to be expats or experienced tourists so they tend to only drink at the Gogos and not bar fine girls. So even on nights where it can appear very busy the majority of girls don't get barfined so struggle to make any money.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday they are quite busy with girls and guys. At peak times the bigger gogos can even be hard to find a seat. The second tier gogos still struggle 7 days a week. On off nights all gogos are quiet, the 2nd tier places like ghost towns. It is also nice to see that all girls are back to Bikinis as opposed to the dresses they had to wear during Covid restrictions.
