I'll be visiting BKK soon and wanted to know if there are any non-pro bars that are decent to go and meet Thai women? I'm sure this has been kicked around but I'm wondering what people think. I'm interested in some Thai women who may be in their 40's type thing. I remember seeing some night markets listed a few years ago where some women might go for a drink with friends and you can chat them up a bit and get to know them outside of the pro-settings. One that I went to years ago was on Sukhumvit across from the BigC (south of Nana stops etc.).

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as it would be nice to have some alternative places to go.

Haven't been here for about ten years so I did my research. (I've got two more nights than I'm heading to the US).

Look I did not make a close inspection as was just passing, however at least 2 out of the three girls were in what I would call skinny category, and faces looked okay Big curls on head not very tight fuzz. Bars are variable. Last night Sharks line up was improved. More girls and more pretty girls. I was there slightly earlier.

Tried Crazy House also for two sets just after 8 PM. Nothing that interested me at all. Very ordinary bunch of girls. Their hiring policy went right away from pretty girls, however could say there were not many fatties. I concluded that the better looking girls probably drift in after 9 PM, if any, but I was gone before that. My regulars had not yet showed up either, so I consumed just one drink. Sad that this bar was once packed out with pretty girls (4 years ago). Still some good bodies, but I am a face man first. The red set (taller girls) are definitely a higher standard than the yellow set (shorter) and green set (uglies and older girls) who get sent upstairs. I recognised Naen and Mon who are reasonably good looking girls, also Ice, Chocolate, and Praow (the later two are ex Doll House girls known to be pathetic on the bed). The bar opposite Cowboy 2 is not likely to be Doll House. Doll House is opposite Suzie Wong roughly. I would say Lighthouse should be directly opposite Cowboy 2 in the middle of the Soi. It used be my favourite bar when it was called Sheba.

Neon lights fully back on in Cowboy last night. Police scare over? Soi was much more lit up. Soi was much more busy than Thursday night.

Coincidentally, I happened to be walking by that same Soi 23 cart bar around the same time. Maybe 10 minutes different either way. When I passed by there was an older, chubbier girl standing or sitting behind the cart nearest the wall or fence and another girl, less chubby but still not attractive enough to be do-able imo, standing at the side of the cart.
