I needed to spend a few days in Bangkok a couple of weeks ago and had some fun around Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. Just down the lane right in front of the Majestic Grande Hotel is a Beer Bar on the left, the first one on the left as you as you leave the hotel, Annies I think. Overall, I do especially recommend Shark, Tilac and Long Gun. Deja Vu isn't bad. I thought the talent at Suzie Wong, Midnite, and Baccara (despite the quantity) is poor.

NANA: Like I mentioned, I'm not a big fan of Nana. I also think Rainbow 4 is very overrated; yes. There are some attractive women. But the place caters to Japanese and overall the staff and even some women I've spoken with are much less friendly. The layout of the bar also makes it hard to get a great view of all the women. I don't get the allure that some have of this place.

I too am not a fan of Nana. Its dirty, stinks, and just too many lady boys for my taste.

I also agree that Soi Cowboy is much better. Much better looking women. More expensive, but better.

You can get numbers. I got one from a hot coyote at Tilac on Friday without even asking after only buying her a couple drinks. Interesting young girl. 22 and studying music at a local university. Doesn't like dancing and only there on Fridays and Saturdays to make money. However, my Thai is limited as well as my interest in extensive follow up to make something happen. Perhaps some coyotes are amenable if you very directly offer them cash; I haven't tried.

One note on talking to coyotes at these bars. And this is based on my experience at Tilac. They come at 10pm and spend half their time on stage dancing. So if you're by yourself it can be frustrating/boring. The coyote at Tilac insisted on going to the bar herself to get her lady drink. It seemed by the time she got back she had to go back dancing again. The only upside is that your bill takes longer to creep up. And at Tilac coyote drinks are 130 baht (same as cost of your beer), versus 200 baht/drink at a place like Midnite.

My main point is that I hate seeing the two types of women mixed, and I also think the bars are very misleading about the coyotes. For instance, at Midnite on the menu they list a Coyote Bar fine of 2,000 baht, but in reality you can't take them out of the bar.

Here is some interesting thing that happened to me a long time ago.

Just thought I would share my experience on the most expensive P4P that I ever had (hopefully) in my life.

Again, very true..hope I don't get blasted but learned three years ago at LL that the hostess bar prices were dirt cheap compared to what we pay in Japan and other Asian countries.

One thing I notice is that on average the Japanese mongers in Bk are much much younger than the Farangs. Groups of 20-somethings come over for a wild weekend en masse.

True, the young guys I've had conversations with don't want to deal with the "princess" routine when trying to score with Japanese girls. Thai ladys are easier to deal with, and there are several Thai/Japanese places not known to Farangs.

I learned of this from a LL lady who was looking for a Yeppun sponsor. Who knew that restaurants outside of Sukhumvit had ladys for Thai/Japanese only.

Here is some interesting thing that happened to me a long time ago.

About 15 years ago, I was on a business trip to Japan with some of the guys from my company. This was our first trip to Japan for any of us so the Japanese guys took us to a KTV which have Hostess to show us a good time. The girls were beautiful and we had a lot of fun, when the time came to pay the bills, the Japanese guys were going to pick up the bill because we were their guest. One of our dumb guys said that since we were on company expense, we should pay our own expense. The Japanese guys argued a while but our dumb guy keep insisting we pay our own way so finally the Japanese guys relented. When the bill came, it turned out that our portion with the Hostess was $US 998 for each of us. This was including taking the girl back to our hotel. We were shocked that the bill was so high but it was correct. We couldn't do anything at that point except to pay it (in order not to lose face). So I took the girl back to my room and had the worst time of my life. The girl was great and her performance was great, but I just keep thinking, how the hell am I going to explain this on my expense report.

Later on when I returned back to the states and was talking to some of the experienced guys who travel to Japan quite a few times, they told me that sex in Japan is the most expensive place in the world. Our Japanese counter part were expected to entertain us and the company expected to pick up the bill. Since we paid our own way, our Japanese friends was also expected to pay their own bill. The only winner was the company which was willing and expected to pay as part of their culture. Our Japanese friends only stop arguing and let us pay our own bill was because they weren't sure of our culture.

To this day, I was still not sure why that stupid guy was so insistent on going dutch but I know that all of us were pissed at him for a long time.

Just thought I would share my experience on the most expensive P4P that I ever had (hopefully) in my life.

There were lots of young Japanese men out in Patpong last night. They stop by Soi Thaniya early in the evening and take the young, very pretty ones for the weekend. Those women don't even think about servicing the non-Japanese market.

Keep in mind I do not live in Japan; however, think it is the price and the anonymity. Most of the Japanese I see in BKK are salarymen, married and have to be home at night. Doing business in BKK you can establish an instant GF exepreriance for the days you are in BKK, somthing that is not possible with the P4P ladies in Japan (unless you are willing to take them out of country on a long vacation).

That is why if you go to Thermae on Friday and Saturday night there are tons of Japanese guys compared to the weekdays - also the planes on Friday from Tokyo are packed.
