Natty has some good points but I don't think you want to fly all that way just to be turned down by many of the girls and turned away by most of the gogo's. Gogo's are like stripclubs on steroids, do you really want to miss that by getting turned away? Dressing up is a mistake, bring along tshirts that only Americans will have. Have two questions for you, were you born and raised in America and have perfect english and do you have hair just like all the other Indians? If your english has no hint of a foreign accent and you get turned away from bars it has to do with the hair. I've never seen a buzz cut on an Indian before, consider getting one in Thailand if your having troubles getting into clubs.

Maybe we don't even know we have subtle odours that come with age.

My mother is in her 80's has a certain minor odour of the skin. I can detect it. She is a clean person. Virtually all older western people have odours ranging from almost undetectable to very strong (the guys that really stink). Many of these guys are in denial. They just don't know the exact extend of their body odours. Many Thais have noses that can detect odours that we might miss..
It has been my experience certainly with women that Asians have much less body odor than European, Slavic, Scandinavian, Middle Eastern, or African peoples. Now this is anecdotal, since my sample size is just a few hundred, but still. One of the reasons (among many) that I prefer Asian women is they just smell (and taste) better than other ethnicities (to me, YMMV). It is only partially due to the much more frequent showering that certainly Thais engage in, but also it seems most other East Asians as well. Even when sweaty and unwashed, there is just much less smell, and what there is tends to be much less pungent and offensive.

    Just my observations.

I feel bad for you. The videos I have seen of thailand 10 years ago certainly looked magical. Like the beer bars of pattaya not staffed with ugly chicks and white people everywhere. Just be happy you enjoyed it for a while. Things change so do mongering scenes.

Walked through soi 10 and had a look at the talent in Lolipop but saw only a LB and 2 ugly girls so I decided to go in soi 8 instead. I remembered a recent report from Bkkdog about Som's but didn't remember where it's located. I entered soi 8 and went straight to L. O. L. I. T. A. S and had planned to go to Kasalong if I saw nothing interesting there. But at the moment I arrived there was about 7 or 8 girls and one of them was standing and looked not bad at all so I entered directly and told her to come with me. All others were fat or old ones. Once we got up the stairs I realised that I would even want to bang her so I told her to go to the 2nd floor directly but she said she couldn't because she was on her period and I could change girl if I wanted (don't know if it was true or if she just didn't want that I bang her). Her name is Ma, she has a nice roundish face (not chubby), no crooked teeth, dark skinned, quite fit and sexy with her uniform. Once seated she started her job and did it pretty well. I was hard very quickly, I stopped her and told her to do it very slowly, that I would like it to last at least 10 min and then she can make me cum if she wants, I would tip her for that effort. She agreed and said in Thai ja tham dai yangai wa (how am I going to do that). She had some great techniques sometimes licking it sometimes putting it in her mouth. She also let me touch her body without saying anything (but not near pussy). But she lost patience pretty quickly and made me cum in 5 min. I would have tipped her 200 if had gone to the 10 min point but finally gave her 100 for the effort. By the way the BJ is now 850 baht. So now you know there is at least 1 girl that looks not bad and is pretty good at her job in that place.

Guess if you weren't there as a resident years ago at your "home bar" hanging out with your gang of friends, then you would not really be able to relate. Almost had a "fraternity-like" quality to it. We hung out in groups, rarely if ever alone. We all miss the dingy days of Cowboy when there was very little neon, no tourist couples gawking up and down the street, no agency girls, and on any night of the week you would find dudes you knew in all the bars you frequented including Thermae and Nana Disco. And need I mention places like Washington Sq which had some amazing bars! Just the mention of Wild Country should perk some ears up.
Sure Cowboy is not so much an expat hangout anymore, however I have certainly seen the regulars turn up, at certain bars especially quite late at night, not sure why. Toy Bar was a good example. These are guys quite willing to part with money buying drinks for their favourites. Probably not on tight budgets.

Cowboy is becoming dominated by Asian customers and any Farangs willing to spend more money. If on a budget, forget it.

You are quite right that the price of spending time at Cowboy has got too expensive for most expats.

I have tried the daytime bars at Nana. It just does not work for me. Too much money and time get wasted without good enough returns sexually. Food is not good enough to warrant wasting money on it, generally, and I prefer more healthy oriented food. Some of us just want to get a good fuck and only socialise with girl long enough to see if chemistry is good enough that sex might be good fun. Not there due to boredom. Not there for socialising. LOL.

I don't understand why guys would go to Cowboy to see the other customers. I have never been the type to need a wingman. Some of us, like Natty Bumpo and myself preferred the company of sexy girls over other mongers with a very different mindset to our own. Cowboy is not the place to go chatting with buddies unless you are at an outside bar. The music is too loud for starters. I can chat with some bargirls in Thai, the ones that have clear diction. One girl in Crazy I like, but cannot understand her talk well, due to her lazy pronunciation and especially if she has been drinking. Higher pitched Thai is easier to understand in noisy environments than speaking to guys though.

The main reason for going to Cowboy bars is surely to find a very good looking girl with the right attitude for sex, or just a quick survey of the scene if the talent is below par. Granted the cost is too high these days compared to cheap Oilies and budget Soapies. However I have a poor success rate in finding good enough looking girls in the MPs that also give great fun service, to be worth repeating in recent years. It suits the guys less looks oriented and less finicky about natural bodies for sure. I have found girls that give a good session but find that the looks are not quite doing it for me, or get bored with them. I have found girls for repeating in the MPs in recent years, but they rarely seem to last very long for one reason or another. Probably find a sponsor too quickly, because they are just too good to be there. Bai Fern at Yoremichi was a great example. Lovely pretty charming girl with perfect body and perfect GFE service. I was immediately permanently hooked. Soon heard she had left and got married or at least engaged. Could not find any other girl in the shop that came even close.

Over last 6 years, Sheba and Suzie Wong were a great source of girls for threesomes, which were expensive of course, and I have given them away now that all my favourites are gone. Also found a few favourites that were very good looking at Crazy House and most of those are now gone. Replacements don't come easy.

One certainly would not go to cowboy if main priority was budget priced drinks and chatting to buddies. However there are girls that are providing good times for their regular customers, not just looking for one off tourists. There is a strong incentive of course to meet these girls outside the workplace, and this does happen, when the girl turns out to be reliable enough.

With some bargirls, no longer attending bars (or very irregularly at the bars), I have tried to meet them privately however only a percentage are reliable enough to actually turn up. Must be they have other priorities dominating instead of a need for money. Sometimes hard for them to get away from other work, study, friends, boyfriends, and family commitments without raising suspicions, so this severely limits times they can be available. Even the ones that turn up are very unreliable about being on time. They are incredibly dishonest about basic things like "Are you coming? "Have you left home yet?" "Are you in a taxi yet? "How many minutes away?" etc. Hard to fathom why they tell such bullshit when it is obvious bullshit. With some it is always "I can't make it today. Tomorrow is better. " LOL They can't blame communication problems since my Thai is excellent even for typed messages.

It is so much easier to go to a shop and select a girl rather try to meet such unreliable girls privately. Maybe bars cause girls to develop highly unreliable personalities or maybe it is just a normal Thai thing. I don't know. Maybe Escorts is an option for somewhat better reliability.

I do go to one Cowboy bar just to eat a burger and chat with one of the fun female staff in open air (when she is there). Burger is a good price. That is @Corner bar (Soi 23 end). Not recommending it in general however I like one part time girl that works there and I like the burgers.

Billboard in Nana seems to attract groups of Indians who like to party together in the bar like they own the place. This only detracts from the bar for me, since I prefer a quieter atmosphere with less action in the customer area. Hate meeting drunks in bars likewise, and guys that won't sit down and have to stand in front of you or just too close.

You see refusal a lot in Thermae. Or they just quote them a ridiculous price. Some gals won't be seen leaving with Western guys, choosing instead to meet them out the back door. This is also due to pressure from their friends as well not just the Asian dudes. And hey, if dudes won't pay inflated prices for substandard service, more power to them. But as long as guys be they Asian or Western continue to pay and not demand service and looks, both will continue to decline. Has the increase in Asian punters and the dwindling numbers of Western punters had a detrimental effect on the scene. From my point of view, very much so. But hey, that is the way it is.

What I am referring to is the percentage of Asian punters compared to Western punters in Cowboy. In '00 Cowboy was 90% or more Western guys. Now I would say it is 75% Asians. And it was in turn a hell of a lot more fun. Unfortunately now more than ever the GoGo scene is directed at tourists and not regular tourists, but the one time tourist. Cowboy was traditionally an expat area but not any more. I don't know anyone that hangs out there now. Price of course is part of it, but the main issue is the fun has really gone out of the place. Guess if you weren't there as a resident years ago at your "home bar" hanging out with your gang of friends, then you would not really be able to relate. Almost had a "fraternity-like" quality to it. It seems that the majority of the guys on this board are what I would term "lone mongers. " And I understand that the wants and needs of the lone monger are very different than that of the resident. For us the bar scene was almost as much about the camaraderie with other expats as it was about the gals. We live or lived here so could get a gal at anytime. There was absolutely no urgency. We did not have a flight home in a week. And in closing back to the original point; there are more and more Asian guys coming and fewer and fewer Western expats. The Western expat and regular tourist was what drove the scene for years. That's over.

LMAO! The only smell the girls love starts with be. No it's not Burberry. As far as the aging body smell goes it's titled nonenal. If you are over 40 you are already omitting the odour, however by exercising regularly, avoiding stress, abstaining from smoking, drinking alcohol only in moderation, eating a clean diet, drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest apparently reduces this odour. My question is why the fuck would you bothered? Suck down a stogie, down a half a bottle of grey goose, pig out on some Malai Kofta with some Kaali Daal, hit the dance floor of Levels for a four hour rave. Just load your pockets full of freshly obtained 1,000 Baht notes and watch them pretty women come a calling.

If an agency does create a fuss, just call another agency. There are so many choices.

Regardless of your nationality, if you treat the girl well and tip for good service, these girls will want you to be their client.

Good Luck and post your experience.

From what I gather from the women, and from what I smell like after eating Indian food is that certain curry ingredients are not used in SE Asian cuisines and show up in body odor. I've identified the ingredients that I think are the culprits: fenugreek, cumin, and possibly turmeric.

In Cowboy last night for the first time in a couple of months. Sat outside one of the bars with some friends and observed the comings and goings. It's kind of over for the Western man in the BKK P4 P scene. Our ilk is dwarfed in numbers by Japanese, Koreans, Indians, and UEOs (people of unknown ethnic origin). Asian dudes are and will dictate the scene when it comes to performance and cost. The former and the latter will not be to most of our liking. And there is absolutely nothing we can do about. Life moves on. It was certainly a joy to be able to experience the end of the Golden Era here and in places like 'Nom Penh.

Where to go? Well many of my stateside friends are keeping it in their hemisphere. Hitting Mexico for a short trip and Central and S America on longer trips. Places with unrest and poor economies are always good for the monger. I would imagine for those with stones Venezuela would be pretty good at the moment.

For those of us who are settled here; well, we will have to settle for the current situation.

It believe that I must use very thorough cleaning procedures, especially tongue scraping, underarm antiperspirants with a light fragrance (to mask any slight odours), mouth wash and mints (after thorough cleaning), and also a cologne spray (make sure it is appealing one. Not el cheapo), not to reek of it, but very subtle to mask any skin odours. Thai girls do approve, if not overdone.

Clearly a mix of bad body stink with cologne mixed in, doesn't really do it, so the cleaning part is far more important. In Thailand this means showering multiple times per day, including before and after sex. Less is not good enough.

When I was a kid, I remember meeting east European families with high garlic content in their diets and noticing how their skin reeked of it, whole families, although the kids were less so. So there is no doubt our diets do have an effect on the smell of our skin too. Underarm and mouth bacteria are of course much worse. Thai garlic is much weaker, but I still try to avoid it and certainly no raw onions.

I don't know about the fat women. My experience of middle eastern, is the guys stink much worse than the women. They all seem to be unfazed so they are all clearly so used to these stinks, that they don't notice. In a queue for money exchange once, some Arabs came up behind me in the queue, and I just had to leave due to the acrid stench of their underarms (possibly un showered for the day or several days. I don't know). I don't like to stay in the same Hotel as middle eastern guests, purely because of the bad experiences of nearly being overcome by "fumes" in elevators, and thinking about holding my breath. Very sweaty Thai construction workers have so little odour in comparison when they have entered the same lift. Also I felt very out of place in Zenith hotel (Soi 3) years ago at breakfast. The middle eastern types appeared to stare at me and my lady at breakfast like we were lepers. She wasn't dressed sexy at all.

Thai people are brown. Skin color has nothing to do with it. As for the Indian thing; it will be well deserved reputation, so ask first.

Yeah, Middle Eastern put it on thick. It makes me light headed when I smell it.

Here's my advice, take a hot young Thai to a fragrance store and have her pick out a scent for you. Tell her to pick something that all Thai people would like. She'll get something generic, but acceptable. Also, eat Thai food. It'll give your skin the same scent as the Thais.

Don't really understand the need to use cologne unless you're trying to hide a smell. Cologne / perfume bother the hell out of me. I prefer women just smell like they came out of the shower.
