I've had Line for many years, but I think it sucks for anything other than video chat. Then again, I have not spent a lot of time researching features on Line simply because it's not a popular app outside Thailand.

Yes, Whatsapp has video calls and I much prefer it over Line as an app. Whatsapp has been the app of choice for many years now in Indonesia and it's become popular all over the world recently as well. I really don't know any country other than Thailand where Line is popular.

I don't know of any secrecy features in either Line or Whatapp because I am a single guy and I don't worry about someone checking my phone.

I do have a question about Line. How can I stop it from displaying a message on my phone even when it's locked? Whatsapp does not do that. I don't want any messages coming onto my screen when the phone is locked, but Line messages always do.

I have eliminated Line messages popping up on my locked screen a couple of times, usually after a phone update or something that returns settings to their default mode. But I am not 100% sure I recall how I did it. For one, I think you need to go into your phone settings, not Line settings. I have an Android phone and I go to Settings, then Notifications and "Select which apps you want to receive notifications from." In my case, I am fine with being notified that I have a new Line message, so I slide the switch to the On position for the Line app, but I don't want the name of the Line friend or any part of their message popping up on my locked screen. So to eliminate that, open Line, tap the Person/Contact icon, tap the Settings cog icon up in the right corner, go to General settings, choose Notifications and scroll down to where it says, "Message previews". I believe that is the option you want to uncheck.

Again, doing only that last part in the Line app won't stop notifications of a new message from popping up on your locked screen or down from the top of the screen page wherever you are at the moment. That is done in your phone's settings. But it will stop telling everyone who can see your locked screen who just sent you a Line message. I think. Try it anyway.

You can also select and designate Hidden Users, the feature Syzy mentioned. At least I think that will do what he wants to do. I'm not sure because I live alone too so I am not so concerned about hiding users. Also, a relatively new feature on Line is the ability to go back into a conversation and "unsend" a message or photo. And it doesn't seem to matter how far back you sent the message or photo. I've done it more than 30 minutes after sending a message I realized I did not want the recipient to see after all. It helps when you have accidentally sent a reply to one girl but meant it to go to another, as I have done a few times, and want to "unsend" it before she sees it. LOL. Unfortunately, it does replace it with a message saying, "ET has unsent a message". So you'll have to tap dance an excuse that you spelled too many things wrong and worried that she could never get a decent Google Translate out of it or whatever. LOL. To "unsend" a message on Line, you long press on the message or photo until the options pop up for what to do with it. Then tap "Unsend".

Don't confuse that with "Delete". If you "Delete" the message, which also pops up as an option when you long press the message or photo, that only means YOU (or someone else on your side) will not see it anymore. But the person on the other side of the conversation will still see it and will have no indication that you deleted it on your side. And in that case, I don't believe it leaves a tell-tale sign that anything was deleted on your side.

I like LINE having Hidden contacts and Hidden Chats. It used to have a wonderful feature of option to have messages auto deleted a set number of minutes after being read. Auto cleanup of evidence. Unfortunately they took that feature away.

Does Whatsapp have video calls the days? Does it have any nice secrecy features or do I need to use a separate monger phone? I wouldn't ask if I could see these features sitting there obvious. Not a Whatsapp expert.

I would recommend using Line instead of Whatsapp. It seems to be the most popular messaging app in Thailand by far. I haven't run across anyone offering their Whatsapp info in a number of years.

I'd open with 2000 and aim for 2000-4000 per day, especially if you don't need her services 24/7. You won't get a professional Nana dancer for that kind of money (she can get that much for and ST and do several per night), but for an average looking semi-pro in her 30's, that should be enough, especially if you have some chemistry. Funnily enough I went to Midnight for the first time yesterday, just randomly as I saw this Amazon-esque tanned, tall girl outside with the most amazing figure.

After checking it's not a ladyboy bar, I went inside and a bit surprised there were only a couple of customers inside. Some of the dancers are really hot, I got a lady drink for the one I saw at the entrance and she was dirty dancing on my lap soon enough.

But 280 bt for a lady drink is a bit steep, and when I asked how much was bar fine (more out of curiosity at this early stage) she said she only drinks and all of the other dancers were the same. Then she pointed to only one girl who could be barfined and tbh, I'm not sure she was a girl.

I won't be going back.

Our friends back home see those YouTube videos of Soi Cowboy and all the girls standing outside the bars, looking even better on video than they do in person and I always wonder what they think is the reason almost every man of any ethnic origin on those videos just keeps walking by, ignoring the girls, tugging their hands and arms away from the girls trying to drag them in. LOL.

I mean, all those bars offer hot girls for cheap and easy sex, right? That's the theory anyway. Do they think none of those guys wants to have cheap and easy sex with those girls? Do they think the guys are ignoring and avoiding them because there are even hotter, cheaper and easier to have sex with girls further down the soi? Places where no cameras are able to capture videos for YouTube?

It's sometimes hard to convince our friends who have never been here yet that the reason very few if any of the guys on those videos take the bait and go into the bars with those girls is because only 1-2 experiences with scammer "Coyotes" teaches us an important and memorable lesson about very hot girls trying to drag us into bars on Soi Cowboy and elsewhere around town.

Other than the Caucasian nose and blond hair, she could almost be the twin of my current main Thai girlfriend. Talking about when Perabo was very young, that is. My GF is 21 years old now. But I get the "Plain Jane" thing. I really do. I am very much into her, but the fact is for all the basically fine bone structure and even features, that kind of "beauty" can be a bit boring. Hey Smoothy, I don't know where you stay in BKK, I don't care, but all the hotels where I stay are Guest Friendly. In BKK that means no ID checking of any kind and no limit on the number of girls I can bring in. For example, I had 3 girls over in my hotel room a couple of nights ago. We had a great time. The staff did not blink an eyelid.

Look at recent changes:

1. American Bar / Food Chain Hooters opens up across from Nana competing with all the old school hostess bars on Soi 4 (no barfines at Hooters / just American BS with Thai girls) - unbelievable a few years ago. "Somebody give me a cheeseburger." Know where that quote comes from? I will give you a hint: "Living in the USA"
2. No barfine Go Go girls in Go Go's. Again unbelievable a few years ago.
3. Now, no girls under 20 allowed in NANA Go Go's ? and cops stationed permanently at the front door to check. What the fuck! And what's wrong with an 18 year old? Some of my best girls were 18/19 years old.

All these changes are ominous and portend no good. OK. I have said what I wanted to say. It's now time to take a taxi over to Mini's new apartment. I havn't seen her new place since I arrived. I am looking forward to this afternoon and evening with her. We are going to have some fun.

True, but the fact that bars started opening up worldwide called Coyote Ugly with girls dancing exactly as they had in that movie Coyote Ugly and girls in bars worldwide were called Coyote girls when they dressed in short shorts and cut off tops had everything to do with the movie and nothing to do with a coyote biting his leg off.
