I never monger the Thermae anymore. I know I am not going to get anything below 2000 there. The girls have been over priced there for 15 yrs at least. I offer the price of the shop I am shopping in. My 1000 offer goes to the Nana sign and the odd Soi side of suk street girls and I get at least a 75% turn down rate. BUT its ok I am not bothered by a rejection. Eventually I find a doable girl that will take the offer. I only offer to girls that fit my looks preference also. The Soi Cowboy, Sukhumvit, Nana Plaza areas were practically desolate last night after 11pm. At that hour I only saw a few street girls, none if whom struck me as above a 6 in terms of looks, although it was difficult to know for sure with the streets as dark as they were.

It was creepy enough walking around my usual route with so little activity going on. I am sure it will be even creepier after a few more days of NO INCOME in the pockets of the rare bad guys these kind if tourist areas can attract even during good times, if you get my drift.

I was only out then because I had walked my latest regular non P4P girlfriend to bts Nana to bid farewell after a day and evening together. I would not consider sending a girl on her way alone on these streets at night these days, carrying a purse, obviously having left a hotel or apartment complex after a profitable "date" with a tourist or expat unless she was a hardened, experienced, street smart pro. And even then I would be inclined to at least make sure she gets into an auto taxi or onto a motorbike taxi safely enough.

In this case, my girl was a just turned 22 year old cutie who works as a professional model I met and began dating over a month ago. Mom and Dad bought her a condo in the Phra Kanong area and she is not yet comfortable to go missing from there when Mom calls after midnight to check on how she's doing. Hense, the 11pm return to her place instead of sleeping over at mine.

She doesn't need the money but I still give her a token 500 - 1000 baht "for travel" to and from my apartment after we shatter the Social Distance virus transmission prevention recommendations having Real Sex because I think that helps to keep them from assuming more non pay-related emotional commitment than I am interested in juggling and dealing with for now.

Is anyone still planning on traveling there once these go into effect, especially with everything being dead right now?

Yep, that seems about right. Here are the rules per the Thai embassy. Not easy. I have no temptation to consider another trip until many things change.

Looks like the same as in 2009 when protesters blocked the airport for many weeks. On that time they also didn't give adjusted prices, not in hotel industry and not in the entertainment.

There will be stiff competition once things get normal. To fill up plane airlines will reduce fares and hotels will do the same to fill rooms. Till then they need to make money to function from existing customers.

Has anyone had issue with visa on arrival / evisa after you landed in Thailand?

Reason for asking is because I had an issue a week before. Right on the day of my travel visa on arrival had been stopped.

We raised priority e-visa from Thai embassy and was given. Airline checked and confirmed good for travel.

After we reached Bangkok, we were told visa on arrival including evisa is stopped. We were detailed and were sent back on next flight back home.

We were treated pretty bad with people who didn't even understand basic English.

Has anyone had any luck in getting any kind of refund from airline or embassy or anyone in similar situation?

We had both to and fro ticket which was adjusted for our travel back.

What gets on my nerves is hotels on islands not giving discounts, at least not on the booking platforms. Hotels on Islands like Ko Chang and Ko Mak are priced the same as usual for this time of the year. How is that possible with no more flights coming in?

The hotel I'm staying in in Pattaya is three quarters empty. Yet when I show them the Agoda price in a bid to pay cash and avoid the credit card + Agoda fee they say no and quote me a walk-in rate 25% higher. I dont get it.

And offering discounts at this moment wouldn't result in rush of customers because no one is travelling. Most of the countries have banned international flights. I wouldn't be surprised if they implement domestic lockdown. Whats the use of offering a discount when no one would come? Its better for them to shut shop rather than have very few customers. When things limp back to normalcy, we might see some discounted prices for airlines / hotels and keep the fingers crossed for discounted WG prices: 0. Just my two cents.

Its a question of who is desperate. If the customer is desperate for a holiday in these extraordinary situation, he needs to pay more. Both the girls and hotel may think, if they serve you in this crisis when others have shut shop, they might need extra remuneration. They run the risks. But on other hand, if the hotel / girl is in financial crisis and is extremely desperate, then we can see reducing in fee in normal / extraordinary situation. I see a lot of posts assuming the WG's are desperate and hence there would be price reduction. But till now I see only disappointment in most posts.

Seems it extends to Thai citizens. Not untypical there is some confusion whether you require a negative test cert or just a not showing symptoms cert. Also a verification from your embassy is required. Kafka couldn't make this shit up.

My favorite destination in the world for our hobby, Germany, is now a p4p desert. The only country that seems to have a semblance of action right now is Thailand. However, no way I'm leaving home now. It is difficult to foretell when things will improve. Its a wait and see game.

Really? Then things must be horrifically bad in Germany. Unless you mean the Thai girls who might still be in town and on Tinder, ThaiCupid, ThaiFriendly, etc. Or maybe in Pattaya.

But these first two nights of closures in the red light districts of Bangkok have been like walking through a ghost town. Virtually no girls on the streets because there are virtually no customers on the streets either. Seriously, the only place I saw a small cluster of girls anywhere right after 9PM or so last night was in front of Thermae. And even in the most dire financial/low customer circumstances these girls have ever seen in their lives, it is highly unlikely any Thermae girl would deliver anything other than the most basic, boring, standard fare that wouldn't be worth near their going rate even at the popular height of the highest High Season.

In fact, the only reason those few Thermae girls still standing around out front are NOT concerned about getting a virus spread by droplet transmission is probably because they are already accustomed to making 2,500 - 3,000 baht without coming in contact with so much as one droplet of anything anyway.
