End of May I flew BKK. NRT, and connected to NRT. LAX. We might have been a little late leaving Bangkok, so things were already tight. After arrival at the gate, only the local Japanese were allowed to disembark. Soon, they were all off the airplane and we were asked to return to our seats and wait. Most of the passengers, on a very full Japan Airlines B777-300, had connections.

Added to this morass of complicated connection issues, everybody has to go to a table and then you tell a passenger service agent your name, then they find your boarding pass. I was flying Business class, maybe only a little quicker than for the passengers in Economy. Also have to go thru security screening. Why can't the boarding pass be issued in Bangkok?

Then on a previous trip a few months back, after landing in Narita, our flight was not allowed to proceed to the gate. So we sat out on the tarmac (wasting fuel), because the airport terminal was too congested. My observation was that the airport terminals are NOT congested. I think the Japanese government is very unreasonable, with these draconian building capacity restrictions (for Covid-19? If that really is the reason.

On the plus column, on 2 of my trips to BKK, connecting in Narita, we did not have to go security. Probably due to the departure gate being right next to the arrival gate, or in the same wing. Also, on the plus column, I heard a passenger comment that it is Japanese government regulation that the connecting flight must wait for passengers. Unconfirmed, but makes sense in most situations.

One hour is really tight, but probably OK. If everything runs normal.

Decided here as the message is mostly to not trust reviews here or stickman or google maps as alpfa and omega, there are many other places to be found. I haven't tried any of thaifriendly or fiwfans services as my preferences are massage places with extras.

Long story short. Been a few times to this small, family run massage business on Pradiphat road (close to Camping Grounds outdoor food court. Nice on its own before or after mongering!) where oilies are done in a room with 2 beds separated by only a (non seethrough) curtain. Couple of times got an older thick lady which would do a nice massage and a HJ later. Nothing really that amazing. Yesterday scored lucky with Dao. She's also an older lady though on the slimmer side and damN the teasing, the massage itself and at the end the HJ truly magical, I'd put it right next to Naka massage (easily found on google). Nice spray with a finger up my butt and overall a fun experience, completely unexpected.

Total damage not even set in advance. To reception would be 350 for 1 HR oily, I gave the lady and extra 1 k because why not, full hour of excellent massage with a happy ending. Your mileage may vary, nothing was really offered and it came up slowly as a joke. If they do it regularly it certainly isn't obvious and downstairs normal customers coming in for a foot rub are mostly Thai.

Crazy House end of Soi Cowboy, small massage shops up and down the road. Tried very decent looking masseuse among the Homlies. 1,400 all in. Very good and Happy was I.

Levels was closed this weekend (or I should say it has not yet reopen since Covid). I went to Oskar for a while, had "the usual" crowd. "Big line" waiting to get into Sugar and Havana, I do not enjoy waiting in lines, so I moved along.

Went to Twisters. 100 baht. Not overly impressed with girl attractive -ness. Stayed two sets probably 50 girls.

Two others have chimed in. We all in agreement. Girl quality is awful. Hit or miss is just a polite way of saying it.

Dots worth connecting or not, here are some things I and a couple of other expats have noticed and experienced in just the past 2-3 weeks:

1. A marked increase in an influx of wannabe customers in a couple of ethnic and country of origin groups not generally known to be high on Thai girls' list of desirable customers cruising the streets in groups, in and out of the bars.

2. During that same 2-3 week time, most of the better looking girls as well as the 2nd tier girls in the bars and on the street fled the area.

3. During that same 2-3 week time, I began to get daily Line messages from 5-6 good pre-Covid girls who had just arrived back in town from their provinces to start working again but were hit with the above stated customer influx culture shock and chose to either hide in their room to pester me for a session every day or just turned around and high-tailed it back to their province.

Those girls will not return to the general scene or stay here more than a night to check it out until many more customers start showing up and customers they are willing to engage with. So we have a Catch-22 dilemma going here.

The "horrible, absolutely horrible" characterization is the same one the better looking girls I know would use for the current customer base they encountered on arrival.

I connected thru Narita last month. No problem for me. Landed about 11:00 am. Plenty of staff and were not busy. Took less than 30 minutes from getting off the plane to waiting at the gate for my next flight. Been through Narita before the pandemic and never had a problem. You will have plenty of time.

In September my flight from BKK to LAX stops at NRT. I have one hour to catch my LAX flight. I can't believe they even ticketed me with that close of a connection. I'm flying Japan Air on both flights in Business Class. That will be a nailbiter.

Interesting info on Narita. I'll be connecting through NRT from the US on the way to BKK. Do you know how the immigration during connections is at NRT, I only have a 2:30 hour layover there. Guessing it should be more than enough time.

2.5 hours is an Eternity now. Make sure your paperwork is in order.

Don't know if you saw my earlier post but my 2.5 hour layover turned in 24 hours, due to Paperwork issues with Thai Pass.

1. Flight Nrt-Bkk. 20% full if that. Like half percent Japanese.

2. Landing to out of immigration took 25 minutes. Very efficient.

3. Not hard to see but Airport activity in Bkk is abysmal. Hence talk of eliminating Pass completely.

Nrt activity abysmal too but they still in lockdown mode.

BKK is general is getting busier with enough critical mass to probably sustain and go forward now although you do see a lot of girl turnover, some busy nights and some completely dead nights.

Interestingly I saw that Geisha (top floor Nana Plaza) had reopened. The 2 very well know dragon mamasans were there. Previosuly seen at most other bars in nana. They seem to specialise in getting bars started again and do a good job in that they fill it with staff. The negative point is that they control and have their hands in everything.

We were negotiating with a couple of newbies and both mamasans came over and tried to take over the negogiations. They insisted on 3000st paid up front BS. Both of us lost interest at this point and interestering the mamasans picked it up quickly and moved on. The newbies explaind that they couldn't move much from 3,000 because the mamasans wanted 1000 as their cut. At this point we lost further interest because it was all getting too difficult.

Ironically one of the ladies chased us out and really wanted to tag along. He quote was "pay what you want, up to you". By this point we were tired drunk and kind of over the whole thing.
