I am really worried about a future Bangkok with almost no freelancers on street. FLs are usually dirt cheap due to a variety of reasons and their, almost, complete disappearance, from asok to nana is an extreme concern.

The takeouts from massage shops become expensive if one orders two a day. Ditto with bar girls. Freelancers used to be pretty good "fillers" and sometimes offered only chance to snag an amateur.

During my recent visit, the street scene was totally dead in Bangkok. Some of it could be attributed to corona and dearth of tourists, some to increased LE activity in Bangkok and Pattaya that I witnessed personally.

I wonder if there are any alternatives that can fill the void.

Posing as customers immigration rounded up a bunch of Viet lasses and some Africans on Soi 4.

Girls had to be really fucking stupid. How many Thai men will be customers on Soi 4? ZERO.

So if I'm a girl I avoid all Thai men and do not talk to any of them.

Of course if they just pulled up and said show me your papers, different story.

The connection had occurred to me as well. Northern China, Korea, Northern Italy, Iran. Those places are now experiencing winter. Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, South America, astonishingly few cases.

I read that it is not heat that will kill the virus. It has something to do with the immune system being more efficient when body temperature is higher.

Generally agree based on my observations as well. My Thermae comment / report was on a Sunday night (always a slow night) and right around closing time. When I walked past it a bit earlier on a Tue or something like that. It seemed to have decent foot traffic of girls and Asian customers in and out.

I passed through Thermae twice last night, once at around 9:30pm and again around 2am. I am usually not out and about, dropping into Thermae and all that at 2am, so I don't know how it compares to recent times. But my observation at 2am on this Friday night is the same as yours was for last Sunday night; there were very few girls and customers in the place at that hour. Very slim pickins.

However, at 9:30pm last night, it was filled with girls and customers. Waves of them, just like usual at that hour if not more than usual. Now, here is the bad part for any Farangs thinking this coronavirus hysteria has loosened the youngest and best looking Thermae girls' grip on responding exclusively to Asian punters. And, again, this is only from MY experience. But at 9:30pm I went in there as pleasant, polite, smiling, happy, with as warm and welcoming a "sawadee krup" at the ready as I have ever had, looking pretty damn good for a somewhat elderly Farang I might say. And the cold shoulder from the better looking girls was every bit as bad as it has ever been. Very, very cold cold shoulder for this Farang. With girls I'd never seen or talked to before, new encounters.

In fact, was it my imagination, or was the cold shoulder from the better looking Thermae girls for this Farang last night WORSE than it has ever been? Unfortunately, I kind of think it was. A possibility: Has our Farang penchant for wanting, sometimes even negotiating for and expecting, DFK put us on a an even stronger "Avoid" list with these better looking Thermae girls in a Coronavirus World? I wonder. One might think Farangs would rise a step or two on the ladder of preference for these better looking girls at a time when a potentially deadly flu is more associated with Asians than Farangs. Nope. Not by my observation and experience last night. Just the opposite. Oh, I got smiles and responses from a few fairly good looking girls in the place. But very few.

Otherwise, Soi 4 was hopping busy with girls and customers at around 9:45pm last night and again at 2am. Nana Plaza itself was a bit slower at 9:45pm and 2am. At least in the open plaza part of it. I did not have time to go inside the bars. But there were certainly plenty of door girls and girls sitting outside the bars to confirm there were indeed a lot of girls working in the bars last night.

Yes, there were little to no signs of Vietnamese girls in their usual station in front of Hillary 1 Bar at 9:45pm. Presumably due to the recent foreign worker sweep in that area. But a few of them were still working the area on the other side of Soi 4 in front of Hillary 2 and thereabouts. Also several African girls sitting at tables along that stretch.

The western media is killing my stocks with their fear mongering

An expected first quarter contraction in China, a possible global recession, massive supply chain disruption, a real issue with the global spread of Covid-19 resulting in changes in consumer behavior re travel eating out shopping etc, the Trump dodo press conference after returning from Indian, these are the main causes of the global slump in stocks. Blaming the media while I agree they love the drama especially the popular tabloid press and while a popular chant especially among populist politicians seeking reelection is in my humble opinion unfair. I agree with the notion the slump provides buying opportunities, here timing is the key, I unfortunately didn't see the magnitude of the sell off and started buying too early but I'm still buying. As the saying goes "this too shall pass".

I haven't read anything about Bat Flu and heat. Hope you're right. The western media is killing my stocks with their fear mongering but I feel the number of cases is grossly under reported. I doubt Thailand has many testing kits outside of Bangkok. Even California is woefully short of testing kits. Also some sick people aren't getting medical help due to fear of being isolated by friends and family.

My normal MO is first day, visit SOL to get the rust removed from the pipes. Last year, found a very good looker, great service. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

But having read on a couple of Best BJ bar blogs about "the World" near SOL, I'd never heard of it despite decades of visits. Determined to check it out. Now I knew if I stopped at SOL, last year's fav would no doubt not be there, but its gravitational pull too much for me to resist. So instead of turning right past Foodland, headed straight, up the stairs, to the 2nd floor (1 floor above ground). Nothing immediate, so walked along the landing, and down near the end, furthest from Foodland, saw the "World" on a door (or window, forget which, but noticable). Unsure if it was open or closed, but when I approached the door, a lady appeared from outside, opening the door for me. Stepped in to a lit bar, obviously seen better days. Couple of girls inside, including the one who'd opened the door for me.

Having read prices were variable, asked the price of a Singha. "150". "No thanks. " "OK, for you 100". "Fine, 1 Singha please. ".

As usual, a girl on each side, Lefty rubbing my shoulders, Righty my crotch. In the light, mentally dismissed Lefty, r\Righty MAYBE a possible. First thing, A/C turned on. Great. 2nd, lights dimmed, well past subtle, down to "where's my headlamp" dim. OK, reasonable, as the girls are not the cutest. 3rd, tape started. Eagles. Fantastic, my type of music.

Same MO, A/C on, lights DIMMED, music on (Tina Turner. Yes, thank you), though no discussion of price. Fan positioned for quick cooling while the A/C cranks up. Same couch service, just went directly there. Same service type, decent BJ, though no SOL super technique, same no tissue box, get up, go to toilet, spit in sink, gargle, spit, gargle, spit. Perhaps tissue an unnecessary expense for the girl.

So, will the World replace SOL? Hardly, but certainly an alternate possibility to provide service if SOL is devoid of attractions. Music is certainly enjoyable.

What ever you decide to do ie visit LOS or put it off for a while, Don't Sell Your Stocks. This is a long overdue market correction. I am now looking to buy certain quality stocks a little bit at a time. There are always opportunities when there is blood on the street.

Now if I die from the Bat Flu at least I will have died for a good cause, Poontang, but sorry, I think I will have my Line Address Book auctioned off on Ebay and the proceeds distributed amongst my favorite girls provided they show up at my funeral and put on a good show. I want a lot of tears and testimonials and then afterwards one hell of a good farewell party.

Wow didn't know that. Guess there was something factual to the Thailand Tourism Minister's statement.

No one will ever know the true count of cases. Countries will report what they want to report.

That solo Italian guy really did a number on Italy and we will see the numbers throughout Europe rise because of a single guy. The Iranians are doing a pretty good job too spreading the virus around the world from New Zealand to Canada.

I would question the way numbers are reported for example Italy have a large number 640+ compared to closer geographical countries. It depends on whether you trust the information being fed to you.

The 41 cases in Thailand is admitted for a while.

It sounds not very realistic that this number didn't go up since it's been already admitted a few weeks ago.

As for the other countries such Vietnam (16 cases only), it doesn't seem realistic either.

Cambodia admitted only 1 case. It's a joke considering the amount of Chinese people going there for business or holidays for years and the level of healthcare there.

It took only one guy to pass it to all these Italians very quickly.
