That last sentence seems to be assuring us that it is not against the law to have sex with your spouse even if he or she isn't into it UNLESS it is done to provide sexual gratification for someone else. I've been trying to get a feel for Nana Plaza vs. Soi Cowboy, so last night I started drinking in Soi. I hit five bars. I was there relatively early, around 8/8:30.

Unremarkable.

Instead, there is a subtle point that can be a bit misleading; living off the PROCEEDS of prostitution is illegal, as in a pimp, a bar or hotel set up for the purpose of peddling pussy. The girl (or man, I suppose) who gets paid money for sex and the customer who pays money for sex have not committed a crime. That is why you don't see arrest sweeps of girls and customers for such things. Only the bar owners, the massage shop managers or hotel staff get arrested.

I think what the law is trying to prevent is a third party sitting on the sidelines pressuring a girl into engaging in prostitution in order to rake off some of the money for themselves. But the law has nothing to say about a girl being given a gift of money to help the family water buffalo recover in the hospital in exchange for engaging in sex with the provider if that is what she wants to do. Provided she is over the age of 18.
