I can't offer anything encouraging about discos. But there are several small bars in the Sukhumvit Soi 4, Soi 8 and Soi 11 area that have reopened already under the guise that they are restaurants that happen to serve alcohol rather than bars that happen to serve snacks. Astute observation. Attitude is what gets girls sponsors, not the looks. Well, this is the Thai logic, instead of doing good job and ensuring regular customers (and not talking only for girls) they just see the thb they can make now in the easiest way. There won't be enough arrivals to keep hotels open and making money. Most are shut down or for sale at present. Staff have to be paid every week with just a trickle of tourists so its not worth opening. Until there is critical mass they won't make money.

Absolutely not. There are is no FKK equivalent or nightclub style places here or even in the same world. If you want to see topless girls while hanging out, those are the gogos. Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are the main locations. In short, a gogo is sorta like a mix between a strip club and a brothel, but sex is for takeout only. The girls don't really walk around nude or topless, they are basically just standing on the stage casually moving / dancing in one spot and are usually topless, but not always. Some gogos, like Angelwitch have fun shows. But you can, and many people do, just hang out there, check out the ladies and have some drinks. You're absolutely not required to take one home or do anything other than buy a drink, its a bar at the end of the day, and if you like a girl, you can take her home. Also, If you want, you can get a girl to come sit with you and talk or whatever and you generally have to buy her a "lady drink" (prices vary) for her to do that.
