Landed bkk Saturday afternoon. Made through passport control no issues and exchanged some cash near baggage claim. Got 31.23 rate / usd. Took uber to my hotel for 375 baht. Didn't even bother dealing with the taxi mafia. Heavy traffic to hotel but uneventful. The hotel gave an exchange rate of 30. They told me about a place called super rich that exchanged 32.75 and is this the highest I've seen.
There is a SuperRich on the bottom level of BKK right before trains that usually has best rates. In fact, there are 2. There is also one at the Nana and Asok BTS stations. Just need your passport and some crisp bills. Don't take your dirty crumpled or worn bills there.

I went to Wood Bar last night. Bad vibes. They're all a bunch of [Deleted by Admin]. No smiles, hellos, goodbyes or any of that. The girl I chose was ok, but nothing special. I won't be going there again.

Later in the evening I went to nana plaza. Was raining not a huge crowds of people but still a fair amount. The clubs seemed dead (must be the rain). Girls were still posted up in the nana hotel parking lot next to hooters. Few above average sprinkled amongst mostly average looking workers. Finished my beer / food and went for a walk. From previous trips I remember girls being all along sukhumvit. As I passed, glancing down the side streets to see if there is anything of interest.
Somehow or another end up seeing the big red sign for a BJ bar at the end of chai saman alley (off soi sukhumvit 8). The post editor won't let me put the name of place. There's a name I remember but I've never been inside. One girl sitting outside with momma. 800 baht and she'd show me what's what. Pay go upstairs and I'd guess 6 or 7 little couch areas divided by (I guess) shower curtains. She lays down towel and baby wipes the soldier and goes to work. Good skill. 200 baht more (1000 total) and got CFS. She wouldn't entertain take out service but maybe have to be repeat customer. FS was just a few minutes until I stopped and went back to BBBJ. Finsihed CIM. I didn't feel rushed at all.
Sunday, strolled through soi cowboy about 230 pm and it was a ghost town. If a place had posted hours it was 6 pm - 1 am. A few opened at 7 pm. Eat / drink and end up at kasalong. Its actually next door to the place I went to earlier that had the big red sign. Just walk another 5 seconds and look around the corner of the building. Walk in and get a singha for 115 baht. Didn't pick anyone until I finished my beer. Chose emmy because she was the first to say something to me. Cute chubby little thing. 800 baht and her, I and beer go upstairs. She lays down towel, washes soldier. As she's washing I reach to touch vag and she moves away. Second attempt just to make sure and she moved again. Get to business and I ask her to remove top and she asks for tip. (girl at the other spot did it without me asking). So top still on she gives subpar BBBJ. She most certainly tried and we were there about 30 minutes (way over time). I finally just stopped and said let's go. Paid on my way out and tipped her the 85 baht change.
Back at soi cowboy at 645 ish and music lively and lots of people. Stroll through without stopping. Out the other end of the street (away from terminal 21) and turn left. Few minutes walk down the road is a place called sathiga massage. Chose foot massage (250 baht) from May. She asks if I wanted to get under dressed and offers towel and shower. I say yes to both. Asked her to remove the top and negotiation was all over the place. I laughed when at some point she threw out 2500. She kissed the boys while massaging soldier. Dayum that felt good, she says just a sample. Told her no more than 1000. Agreed on naked HJ. 30 but perfect looking breasts as if someone half her age. Rub and FIV and she really got wet and responsive. She moaned and road my finger while giving HJ. It probably wasn't 5 minutes and I was finished. LOL it was great. Am going to repeat with her before I leave Bangkok.
Sim card: at the airport I bought an ais sim card for 250 baht. Thai phone number, 7 days of unlimited data 4 g data for 249 baht. Downloaded an app called foxfi so I can tether my main phone. Are times when it's slow but after 2 days of use I say it works really well.
Social media: tinder, bumble and wechat have made things super easy. I'm getting WAY more contacts and offers than I'll be able to sample on just one trip. Messaged one from a year ago (that I hadn't met in person) and she offered to come to room for 700 baht.
I have pics to upload but it just told me they are too big. Will resize and upload later. So that's all for now. I'll be out seeing what I can see. If someone needs intel let me know and I will try to check on it before I leave.

Posts: 3497I'm just going to skip Thailand all of October to be safe. There are too many other good options to be worrying at all about any possible closures.

Expect closures on these days. Do not listen to the people who say things will be shut down for 10 days. It was not even that long when he passed away. When the king passed away, closures were only a few days and when the bars reopened they were asked to shut down early and to keep noise levels down only.
